Excellent location , nice big rooms , lovely sized towels in the bathroom and a very good shower..All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them . Breakfast was exceptional, hot , tasty and delicious,with lots of choice.Will definitely return here .The added bonus is that The Castle has its own car park , just remember to tell the staff your registration number when you arrive, otherwise you will get a fine . There are signs in the car park to alert you to this system .

It was exactly what I wanted, comfortable, clean, warm, and reasonably-priced. And the location, ideal for the pretty town of Bakewell and the Derbyshire Dales, was unbeatable ! Everybody was friendly and helpful.

There was nothing I didn't like, but others might want to be aware that the accommodation is adjacent to the inn's outdoor space (and a town street), and the walls are very thin. In October this was not a problem (and I would have slept through a fire drill anyway.......) but in high season I can imagine noise would be a problem for some guests.

Very central position. Stayed 2 nights in the Bakewell room upstairs but separate from the pub with our own entrance off the beer garden. Room was adequate and big enough for us with a nice comfy bed. We enjoyed our evening meal when we arrived and the 20% discount was a bonus.

The only drawback with the room was the light all night which distracted slightly from our sleep. The biggest gap under the door I have ever seen but that was easily rectified by placing a towel over it. It was the green light over the bed that was the problem. The pub, although very convenient for everything in Bakewell, is on a busy road and the outside seating area is next to it which can be quite noisy.

The room we stayed in was quite dated, we found the bed quite hard (personal choice), some noise outside in the early mornings due to the location of the room (I.E. road traffic, delivery vehicles, noise from the extractor fan on the roof and noise from the kitchen below). This isn’t a complaint as we appreciate these things are out of the pubs control, it’s more of a observation x

The location was perfect, in the centre of town and right at the start of the Monsal Trail. We had breakfast and evening meal at the premises. these were good, not classic but very good value. Similarly the accommodation was good and in particular was very clean and well staffed. Free on-sight parking during our stay was also much appreciated

Fantastic location in bakewell town centre, ample parking and a lovely comfortable warm clean bedroom, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom.

A few things had run out at breakfast on the second day of our stay. Room is right on the busy road so it can be noisy as you are trying to get to sleep, there is no inner wall to the bedroom it just opens up straight onto the path outside. ( I wonder how this would be in the summer as there are tables and chairs right outside the bedrooms)

The location was perfect for us, the parking was great. The room was amazing, warm and spacious, slept like a baby both nights the bed was so comfy with a good amount of pillows. lots of tea and coffee and a huge TV! We had food in the pub in the evening which was great, sat next to a big roaring fire. It was just what we needed and all the staff were so friendly, we would definitely stay again.

Room was nice, needed more lights by the two single beds . Lovely and warm .would be good to have a couple of comfortable chairs in the room , no chairs at all ! Great to have easy access and separate entrance for bedrooms. Parking was so close and to let us stay whilst we looked around the next day . Loved just eating evening meal in the cosy warm pub.

No tea available at breakfast, unbelievable! Poor selection of breakfast pastries. No Bakewell tart for evening meal, in Bakewell!

Didn't have breakfast as my husband and I usually only have yoghurt and cereal, small appetites! As I am a lady of a certain age a hand rail would have helped in the shower. The Castle Inn was very well cared for and the staff very friendly. Thank you to everyone. The Chapmans.

Maybe a few comfy chairs in part of the bar area to enjoy a drink after a walk.

excellent location. comfortable and warm room. Side annex to the pub so easy access to our room. quiet even though the pub is next door. food was excellent in the restaurant. Good value for money. staff were polite and helpful. would definitely return.

bathroom was in need of a refresh. hospitality tray was not filled on arrival.
