Gorgeous, comfortable, beautifully decorated hotel. Our room was the furthest from reception on the edge of the ground floor, extremely quiet. Lovely bed, huge and comfortable. Bathroom perfect with none of the niggles we always have with hotel bathrooms. Proper kettle, generous quantities of tea bags etc, fresh milk in the mini fridge! These touches are invaluable. Everything worked. The staff are all extremely friendly and chatty. Whoever runs this place has excellent ethic going and guests really benefit from this.

We enjoyed our meal in the Garden Room, but my husband was quite sad that his starter of Eel consisted of one small mouthful. Inadequate portion. Otherwise the meal was good, service outstanding.

The food and hotel lived upto expectation. We have stayed many times over the years and have always been delighted with the care and attention to detail delivered by the staff and facilities. Even down to the mural in the Gents of the graffiti that used to be on the walls :) Love the place and enjoyed our stay.

Our breakfast was spoilt by 2 men having a pissing contest about their cars with no regard to anyone else in the gallery. It really was upsetting to listen to but it was clearly their aim to impress everyone else in the room. A shame :(

Without a shadow of doubt, one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. Every single member of staff were so friendly, helpful and keen for us to enjoy our one night stay. Room 10, the splendid suite was so comfortable with a superb view to wake up to. Our evening meal in the restaurant was delicious ( we had the beef wellington ) and the breakfast was superb.

when we arrived ( early evening ) we struggled to find a space in the car park. Nothing at all to dislike about the hotel.

Excellent location for Chatsworth. Lovely hotel but some things need to be done to pull their socks up a bit, see below. Great and super staff. Tasty food but meagre portions. Car park rather slippery in cold weather.

Speed of service in restaurant at evening meal was slow and the staff do not seem to communicate with each other. Food portions really meagre but good quality. Breakfast was very slow and had exhausted the coffee before any food arrived (35 minute wait). Bed was uncomfortable, pillows of poor quality. Suggest feather pillows as options and better beds (go to a Premier Inn for an example). Loo flush was inconsistent. Carpets getting threadbare on way to room. For the price expected much better.

Location was perfect, good parking, room was beautifully furnished with lovely views from the windows. Very peaceful. Bar and Garden Room were gorgeous.

Vegetarian menu in Gallery restaurant was limited, but the early bird in the Garden room was excellent. The room was not well ventilated and windows wouldn't open. Breakfast was not included in the price, which was quite expensive for room only.

Lovely corner bedroom (No 20) with dual aspect windows overlooking fields. The bedroom was nicely decorated, and the electric fan was much appreciated. Good shower and toiletries. The bed was comfortable, and the hairdryer, long mirror in the wardrobe, dressing table, and chest of drawers were very useful. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was tasty and well presented. There was also a good choice on the breakfast menu (The Chatsworth ginger and lemon biscuits in our room were a lovely treat). We both loved the new Garden Room and terrace. The view from the GR made us think we were in Italy. (Just lovely). The gardens were beautifully maintained, and we loved the quirky layout of the corridors to the rooms. We didn't eat in the restaurant on this visit, but when we visited in March we enjoyed both the surroundings and food.

Extra water in the fridge would have been appreciated.

the room was clean and nice. The staff was generally very nice. We have had the afternoon tea which was brilliant! It's walking distance to the Chatsworth House which is amazing.

Very disappointing breakfast and the lady managing the breakfasts. She was quite rude and when we said we did not enjoy the food she did not seem to care at all. She was rude to other guests so we didn't take it personally. The young gentlemen though was brilliant and very attentive which soften the blow a little :)

Great location, just 30min work distance to Chatsworth House. Everything in hotel looks perfect, great for vacation.

None, but if I need to say, in case that you would like to go hiking to Mom Tor, which is famous place in peak district, it is bit far. (Hotel reception kindly provided some info for local taxi hence I used taxi to get there to save time.).

Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful views. The team were very helpful, considerate and courteous. I would return just based on how we were made to feel.

Food was not good value. Breakfast was not well prepared (for example the buns on the egg Benedict were not toasted, the ham was straight out of the fridge and the eggs cold) and dinner was very ordinary for the price. The plates in the garden room are awful as well, they are difficult to eat from and scratchy.
