I was travelling with my husband and we had a lovely stay at The Manners Pub. The staff, and other customers, were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was clean with everything we needed. There was plenty to do on the doorstep of the pub, and it was nice to return to the pub in the evenings for some home cooked food and a comfortable night's sleep.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Having read another review before travelling, I did take some extra light for the bathroom, as I love to read my book in the bath when relaxing.

An old coaching inn on the A6 in Bakewell. It has only 2 rooms at present, but the new owners are hoping to increase this shortly. In spite of being on a busy road it was extremely quiet and we were not aware of any traffic. It is well located and within easy walking distance of the town centre and the river. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the food in the evening and the breakfasts were very good.

It was what we expected and we were very happy with our stay.

Perfect location with car park. Comfy bed. Very generous food portions when we dined. Very friendly staff and locals in little snug bar.

The room was dated and the owner, who is lovely, told us a 12 week refurbishment is planned so The Manners will be closed when this happens. I don't want to be negative though, we had a great stay. It'll be good to pop back at some future date and see.

Really lovely pub with a couple of rooms; fairly recently been taken over by new managers who are slowly doing the place up. Super friendly staff, comfortable room and nice and quiet at the back, cosy bar much used by locals. Good breakfast. We didn't eat there but the pub grub seemed popular. Great base for this part of the Peak District.

Wifi was a bit weak through the building (but, to be fair they do warn you). Electric shower was typically underwhelming.

We arrived early and were checked did not have to wait until 3pm. Room lovely, bed and pillows very comfy. Tea/coffee and kettle together with some treats. Our chihuahua made welcome and accompanied us to breakfast and dinner. The Manners is in a very good position for shops and river etc. Definitely would stay again when we go back to Bakewell.

EVERYTHING WAS GOOD nothing negative to say

Excellent room plenty of suitable storage, the bathroom was good and the bath and shower better than other places we have stayed for similar money. We decided to eat in and the steak pie was the best we have had and in the morning breakfast matched it. All the staff we met were courteous and obiging.

The extractor fan in the bathroom was a little noisy and stayed on for perhaps longer than was needed.

We had a lovely two night stay and would definitely return. The room although a bit tired was lovely and clean with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and there was tea, coffee etc plus a few nice touches. Breakfast was perfect and we booked to eat in the evening on our second night which was also excellent. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.

Cosy, comfortable, updated room and bed in historic old inn with very friendly, accommodating staff. Included breakfasts were fantastic and dinner was really excellent. Although a little noisy on busy evenings (very popular with locals), it was less than one would expect staying above a pub and always quieted down by bedtime (around 10 pm?). Overall, just a lovely stay.

Nothing. Well, you can smell the kitchen at the top of the stairs, but just briefly and it’s a minor point.

Manners is centrally located for an excellent stay in Bakewell and only a quick walk to explore the town and historic areas. the pub has interesting & deli pay cuisine options which live up to their reviews. the service is very quick, attentive and friendly sly. I recommend eating and/or staying. accommodation is clean and spacious, and Gemima ensures a friendly welcome and quick check-in. the pub has a great atmosphere and is obviously a choice by locals, with an airy terrace and garden areas to enjoy outdoors too. Libby ensured a lovely breakfast with a big smile. It’s a must-visit pub and location, with quick walk for Bakewell tarts.

Wonderful host throughout our stay. Great daily breakfast, lovely evening food, plentiful parking and excellent location. The natural love and care the host demonstrated towards our doggy "Bella" and ourselves made our stay a marvellous one. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
