The staff are fantastic, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location is ideal as you are within distance to shops, pubs etc.

The room was absolutely fine although our shower was scorching hot! We tried to turn shower temperature down and it was not cooling down. Our friends had a different type of shower and didn’t have this issue. We tried again the next day and my partner managed to slightly adjust the temperature but it was still extremely hot. I would look into this issue (room 42) I would also suggest maybe having a fan available in the room, the bed was comfy but the duvet was so thick (suitable for winter) but even laying on top of it in the summer time it still feels very stuffy.

Room was a single room, but very well equiped. Had an issue with TV, but staff went beyond, even replacing TV for a bigger one. Outstanding! Always got room cleaned and fresh towels every single day, the staff was outstanding making it happen. I was able to do some remote work, and felt very confortable to do so. The garden with rabbits, squirrels, birds and bees, make you feel connected to nature. Lovely surrounding area, with plenty of walking paths, through the parks and great view spot at Beacon Hill. Super recommended, you will nt be disapointed, great value for the price.

Our second room was very good (room 41) clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as was the meals. In the bristo. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and help.

On arrival we were allocated room 55 which we found very small, but decided that we would have to put up with it. Things however got worse our neighbours were very loud and continued to swear and shout until midnight and the started again at 5am. We only got 4 hours sleep. In the morning I informed reception, they apologise and immediately changed our room and moved all our luggage. Great action from the staff. Thank you.

The staff were all very friendly, efficient and courteous. The breakfast was ample, well cooked and served in pleasant surroundings and the bar meals were very good quality, value and just the right amount of choice. The property was quiet, relaxed and in a pleasant setting, with nice gardens for guest use.

Minor stuff... The shower in the bathroom was a little tired and in need of a small refurb, but was clean and perfectly functional. I missed the entrance (first time) driving down the hill - if the signage was a little closer to the road or hedges cut back, that might help visibility, but I appreciate not an easy thing to change!

The bedroom was a good size & very comfortable with 2 arm chairs to relax in, well provided for with a kettle & coffee/tea etc, all staff we dealt with were very competent & facilitating, breakfast was stunning, best ever

there was a large step (12 inches) to get into the shower, making it slippy coming out of it when wet. The shower temperature would not regulate (scalding hot) The reception sent a maintenance operative up to the room immediately, who was very courteous & presentable. the thermostatic valve appeared to have failed, so our only option short term, was to change our room, we chose to remain there.

The bed was really comfy. I loved the little bar area and enjoyed our evening meal. The breakfast was a buffet and nice quality selection. Plenty of parking. Peaceful location.

The entrance was confusing as I wasn't sure if we were going to reception of hotel or reception for the teachers place attached to it. In our room (40) , if we opened the windows we got smells of the kitchen from extractor fan. No bedside table, lamp or socket for my partner on his side of bed. The automatic lights in the bathroom were SO ANNOYING. Also light coming through door from hallway was too much (I put cushions along the floor to block out the light) . The place was like a rabbit warren and seemed very outdated in places like the dining room was from the shining or something.

Main photo doesn't do the place justice. Also the place is undersold, e.g. we are told there's no restaurant at weekends and we have to use "the bistro" which sounded like it only served 'bar snacks'. On the contrary, the bistro was as good as restaurants in similar hotels and inns. Breakfast was PERFECT, despite some other reviews being critical. Some negative reviews put me off staying here last year (I visit the annual Pride of Longbridge car show), but I booked two nights this year and didn't want to leave! Lovely place, lovely room. I suppose being run by a trade union ensures high standards! It's also exactly a mile from Longbridge. I can WALK to the car show! Good walks literally on the doorstep. It's 798 feet above sea level and almost opposite the Lickey Hills visitors centre, with excellent views of Birmingham.

Not really the hotel's fault, but I was offered an online loyalty discount and free room upgrade for £65.76/night. It then asked if I wanted to pay immediately, or at the hotel. I chose to pay at the hotel, because I was worried about being charged twice. The price for one night then shot up to £70.65, with no chance of reversing it.

Building was beautiful and in a very scenic spot. Views from the hotel are amazing. Spacious carpark with ample disabled bays. Staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. Our room was very big, beds were comfy and clean linen. Loads of lighting and plug points.wifi was good. My daughter was gaming on it. There was 1 heater in our room that was more than enough. Facilities were very clean. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, pastries and cooked breakfast. Lots of drink choices. We normally stay at a typical budget hotel, this was much cheaper, loads nicer and breakfast thrown in Will definitely be returning.

Tv was a little small and wet room flooring was in need of a very small repair. This is me nitpicking though as neither had any impact on our stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful especially as there was thick snow in the ground and I was in a wheel chair

The only thing and it wasn’t a major thing was that I booked 1 accessible single room and 1 double. I didn’t realise and I wasn’t told as I booked on line that the single room was in the annex and the double was in the main house. We were offered on arrival 3 single rooms all near each other but decided to keep the booking as it was and fortunately I didn’t have to call my daughter got help during the night as she would have got very cold and wet in the snow

Everything was amazing. Staff were wonderful, room very clean and comfortable bed. Food and service second to none. The weather was bad, lots of snow. When we needed to leave on Friday morning, the staff were busy digging a path through the snow and helping guests to leave safely. The head chef also helped us to clean the snow off the car. The reception staff were absolutely amazing, and so friendly. Connor, in the bistro bar, was great and a wonderful sense of humour - his colleague was also very good. We will most definitely be returning.
