The bedroom was desperate from the pub itself, it was more of a self contained bedroom, bathroom and living space in a private courtyard a few steps away from the pub. The courtyard had a lockable door so only those staying overnight to get in. The bedroom was warm when we first arrived, very country style with warm tones. We were impressed by the usual tea and coffee stand that also had bottles of water. The bed was huge! Me and my partner struggled to find each other to cuddle up late at night. There was hanging storage, plenty of drawers and a hair dryer and TV available. A nice cosy chair and a desk for getting ready at. The shower in the bathroom is like on of the rainforest ones! Loved it . The staff were amazing and accomodating. We left our house at half 5 in the morning only to arrive at 10 am work out and ready for a coffee. We knew we could check in a little early as we had messages the night before but let's face it 10am check in is a no go at any any hotel. However we spoke with a lovely lady who offered to get us coffees and a warm spot to sit at seeing as we'd been in the car for 3 hours and she was quick to see if there was anything they could do to help. We had a family party to go to after 12 and I had asked if possible to get changed in the room if one became available. We enjoyed a stunning latte and it wasn't long before they advised on this occasion they could help, we paid the early check in fee and were in our room before 12 so we could get ready. We returned in the evening for a small family dinner, the Vegan falafel burger was good but the vegan ice cream much better! They had gluten free options as well so everyone at the table were catered for. We slept quite well, considering you're on top of a huge hill we didn't hear any wind or anything to disrupt us . Breakfast the next morning was amazing, my aunt was impressed by the individual cafeteier coffee.

When we arrived I used the toilet that's in the pub, it was so cold, I think the stone walls had something to do with that. I had just left the warmth of the pub to go to the loo though.

I had a fantastic experience during my stay at this hotel. The place was impeccably clean, and the bed was massive and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The room was cosy and wonderfully quiet, as I stayed in an external courtyard area, which meant no disturbances from banging doors or hallway noise. The location was ideal, especially for using the nearby park and ride into Bath, which made getting around so convenient. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and everything freshly prepared. The staff were attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely return!

Wonderful place to stay if visiting bath for a few days. We stayed in one of the rooms that is in a separate building to the pub which was nice. The room was lovely, spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. The staff at the pub were all super friendly and helpful. The food at the pub was lovely, we had breakfast there every day included with the room and we also had our evening meal there one night which was lovely! There is free WiFi in both the pub and the rooms which works perfectly! The park and ride to get into bath is super easy to use and only a short walk/drive from the pub. Only £5.50 for two adult returns and drops you off straight in the centre of bath and they run every 15 minutes and the journey is only about 10 minutes. It was super doggy friendly! There was a doggy box in the room which was a really nice touch. It had blankets, treats, poo bags, bowls and a mat for your little furry one. Would definitely return here and recommend to everyone! Bath is also a lovely little city perfect for a few days a way.

The room was clean, spacious and cosy. We had everything we needed, including toiletries and a good selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. Our room was accessible, and though we didn't need that, it seemed this room would be suitable and comfortable for those needing wheelchair access. However, getting over the threshold may not be so easy in a wheelchair. The breakfast was also delicious, with a decent choice on the menu. Dietary requirements were offered and supplied without hesitation. The service overall was fantastic, with all staff being friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere in the main pub.

There aren't any wall sockets near the mirror, so using hair stylers was a little awkward. Our room door was a bit stiff to open and needed a good shove to let us in. It may need a bit of adjusting!

Rooms are private, clean, bright and … you can open the window fully which is a rarity these days!

The main dining area could be made more cosy with cushions, art or white tablecloths? There is a fantastic beamed room which would be perfect for a private party spilling out onto the garden - we think it is underutilised perhaps and could be made more attractive. It would be easy to decorate for a party to the hosts individual taste. Having said that it is nice in its simplicity as so many places are spoilt these days with plastic seats, plants and fake velour!

Good location slightly outside Bath with walks from the front door. We chose this as we were passing through with our Labrador and wanted walks, but also space for him without bothering / being bothered by others. Rooms 1-8 are in a separate block which was perfect. Large room, with a doggie box provided with towels, treats and poo bags. Comfy bed and decent bathroom. Dinner was fine, breakfast excellent.

I read that rooms 9&10 are situated in the main building itself, which is correct. You have to walk right past the gents' toilets to get there. The gents' toilets were in a terrible state and so I would ensure you don't book these rooms if you stay here. Book rooms 1-8 :)

The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Our room was large and clean with a great view. The room was even stocked with a dog box with blankets, poop bags, treats, and bowl, which is a lovely touch for a dog friendly room. We had dinner and breakfast at the pub, and yet again, the service and efforts were great - our food was good value for money and delicious. They were accommodating to the dog too by ensuring we had suitable floor space and treats. The outdoor space was excellent to roam the dog around before bed and in the morning. A bin was also available outside for leftover dog dinner, etc. There's a lovely public walk to a viewpoint from the pub, also great for the dog upon arrival and being in the car for a little while.

The pub is on a fast road. However, you can't hear it from the rooms, so it wasn't an issue.

The location was great, there is a park and ride just down the road. The food although it was a limited menu was faultless, we ate there on two evenings and both occasions the food we had was fantastic. The breakfast was brilliant too. Good choice of beers and lovely outside seating. The staff were very friendly too. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in the Weston room which was a little small, didn't have any wardrobes or drawers , although the bathroom was spacious with a good shower there were no shelves to put toiletries on.

Warm welcome on arrival, the rooms are to a very good standard & a good size with good size powerfull shower & accessories/toiletries. Plenty of storage, temperature easily controlled to your own liking with the radiator valves. Rooms pretty soundproof as we never heard the traffic on the road that runs alongside the Inn. Excellent breakfast every morning cooked to order. We dined here for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed at The Charlcombe Inn & have to say the 4 of us on each night enjoyed all our meals sampling various dishes from steak, fish, pork, duck, burgers and have to say the steak n ale pie was delicious. I requested to swap the mash & greens for chips & mushrooms to go with my pie which was not a problem at all, fabulous food 👌 The Charlcombe is quite remote but close to the park & ride (£5.40 return ticket per couple) running every 15 mins but the 5 minute or so walk back from was a bit much on one evening returning when from Bath town centre due to the bad weather so instead an uber taxi for under £11 solved that issue. The Inn is family run which helps to deliver a great stay for guests with everyone pulling their weight delivering a very good service with a smile. Thank you for a great stay

Having somewhere to sit after your evening meal away from the tables/restaurant area, this Inn would be absolutely perfect with say a few sofas around the fire to relax and enjoy a few more drinks to round the evening off.

Proximity to racecourse and view from garden. Friendly helpful staff. Plenty of storage space and room spacious. Good choice of breakfast. Lovely evening meal. Nice atmosphere in restaurant.

Lack of internet/phone service. WiFi was also down when we arrived which made it difficult navigating our way around the area. This appeared to be resolved by morning. Could hear the bathroom being used in adjoining room. Dust from turning on radiator in room triggered allergic reaction, though this eventually calmed down.
