The staff were very friendly

The eggs benedicts I have ordered for breakfast tasted very much of vinegar

The staff were amazing, really friendly, really helpful and happy to go over and above to help out. The room was of the same standard as when I stayed there previously, a little basic but clean and comfortable. The food in the bar was superb, thoroughly enjoyed my food as per last visit.

Not much, which is exactly why I returned again, however probably my biggest (and only) gripe would be that to get to my room I had to walk past the smoking rooms, and whilst I was a 30yr smoker and by no means one of those 'ex-smoker' types. I have to say that at 6 in the morning, walking through the stale smell of ciggies, did turn my stomach somewhat.

Very friendly staff, nice clean bedroom, good food and drink in the bar. Very busy atmosphere in the bar and efficient bar service with drinks brought to the table.

Not a hotel for people who like things quiet! There were two weddings and music every night during our five night stay and our room was directly above where the bands played. The bar was very busy every night and most of the tables were reserved so even as residents we found it difficult to find a table so we went elsewhere on a couple of nights.

The staff at this hotel are fabulous. Jackie on reception made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with everything. The bar manager and restaurant staff are all exceptional, the food and service was second to none. The breakfast was excellent. The only down side was there are no tea/coffee making facilities in room, but staff are happy to provide you with complimentary tea and coffee. The room has very little storage space and did not have bedside lamps, the decor is very dated and could do with a revamp. The double bed was super comfy although there was only 1 pillow each, which was not enough. I would return to the hotel but would request a different room. Town centre is only bus ride away, overall it was a great stay.

No tea or coffee making facilities in room. No bedside lamps and lack of storage. There was no ironing facilities

Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean & modern, and beautifully soft towels in the bathroom. Thanks for the complimentary crisps :) Loved the look of the hotel, especially the bar & foyer, you would know it had been renovated fairly recently. We didn’t have breakfast but only have good things to say about dinner - fab to have a range if veggie options!

The only minor thing would be there were no bedside lights / softer lighting. So it’s big lights or nothing - maybe something to think about?

The Lansdowne was a lovely surprise mainly because of the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff and management. They really made us feel welcome, that their main priority at all times was to ensure that we were happy and well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble - from proper Americanos delivered to our room or to take away, to lending us a laptop because my phone wouldn't connect with the 42" smart tv in our room. Also, the food is very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality. The atmosphere in the lounge was very much that of a popular local spot as opposed to a quiet, half empty hotel bar. Really bustling, especially with 2 different acts of live music each evening - we were there for the weekend.

The only slight quibble is that ssome of the live music, although excellent, was a bit too loud. Then again, we could have gone into the restaurant instead of eating in the lounge, and it would have been quieter. If you are staying for more than two nights, you should be aware of the room layout, as there isn't a huge amount of storage space. We brought one big case for three nights and had no problems.

I was really impressed with the quality of the hotel and the service provided. The room was perfect for a city break. Staff could not do enough for you, costa on site provided free room service as no kettle in the room. The room was lovely and warm, the windows opened and though we were at the front of the hotel near the road, the noise was kept to a minimum. During our stay, there was live music, a wedding and a quiz which we heard slightly but didn't affect the quality of sleep/rest we needed.

Really happy with the overall stay and would stay here again. I thought the price for the hotel and what we received was exceptional. I would have preferred a kettle in the room and a fridge so that we didn't need to bother the busy reception staff. Food menus in the restaurant could have a bit more of a selection but the quality of the food was worth the price paid.

Excellent, but could have done with a selection of fruit being available.

The noisy entertainment during the evening in the restaurant/bar. Very, very, loud. Unable to hear or enjoy any conversation, so sadly we did not eat or drink there after the first night. You could sit outside but if it is cold then even with the patio heaters it might not be comfortable especially in the winter. Pity as the food was good. But the excessive loud entertainment meant you could not converse without shouting. More suitable to a younger generation than my age group being over pension age. Could have toned it down.

Handy for Stena Line Terminal, Clean rooms, comfortable bed, good meals.excellent cooked breakfast. Costa Coffee

No reading / bedside lamps. Surely it would be possible to have some in storage, for the people who like to read if they can’t sleep (without weakening their partner with the glare of the very bright ceiling lights).Hotel seems to have lost a bit of its sparkle. Compared to previous visits staff seem less attentive and more gloomy. Service was slow despite the hotel not being very busy. Receptionist seemed to disapprove of me booking through booking.com, made me feel a bit like a second class customer( no complimentary drink for us!)
