Staff very friendly and helpful

Music in every public space. Had to pull the plug on a speaker in the conservatory area to get some piece and quiet to enjoy our drinks. Even in the dinning room at breakfast - more music. In the bar fine, but if you want to enjoy a quiet drink go and sit in your room or your car.

We stayed in the main building, in a room on the top floor and had a huge Four Poster Bed overlooking the beautiful grounds. It was very quirky and atmospheric. Really old fixtures and fittings. The Bathroom was huge with a large bath and modern fittings. Very clean. The breakfast was good and included in our room price. The small bar had comfy seats and the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The whole place felt very welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere in a great location. We met with family for an overnight stay and it was very enjoyable.

The price of the hotel is expensive, although we paid a reduced rate. I think if you were expecting luxury this is not the place for you. It is an experience. Really old manor house with lovely gardens. The facilities in the room not very inspiring, tea and coffee on really old tray with one small pack of biscuits with 4 plastic milks! Also the garden furniture disappointing, beautiful garden with pond but just hard pub benches, would have been so much nicer to have comfortable chairs with tables. Just small details but would make a difference.

The hotel and it's surroundings are fantastic, checking-in was very easy and very well assisted by the young lady on reception who explained everything to us.The evening meal was a disappointment for me but my wife really enjoyed hers , breakfast was very good and the staff were excellent.

My evening meal of shoulder of lamb was a total disappointment dry as a bone no gravy just au jus which in my mind is totally useless with a heavy meat dish, also the TV in the bedroom was pixelating all the time whatever channel you put on which was annoying to say the least other than that a fantastic hotel and we'll go there again when traveling in this area

A beautiful hotel inside and out. Exceptionally comfortable beds. Brilliantly equipped games room. Excellent restaurant. Attentive staff. Brilliant ambiance.

The floorboards are exceptionally squeaky (it’s a period property after all). However no thought regarding this is shown from staff in their quarters above our room who walked back and forth literally all night. We got absolutely no sleep which was such a shame in such a comfortable room.

Beautiful building the room was large and very good, all the staff we met were absolutely fantastic so friendly and helpful, we had our meal outside in the garden the food and service was good.

The service charge put on our meal I hate that, I would have been happy to tip the staff but I do not want it pushed on to me.

What a fabulous short stay. Would have liked to have stayed another night or two. We will return. Everything was perfect. Room large and comfortable. Super bath! Ultra dog friendly. Our Labrador loved the attention and treats. Food superb. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful. One lady helped us find our honeymoon hotel from 1982 - now a private residence! Keep up the good work. Added to our list of favourite places to stay.

There was nothing to dislike.

Excellent,but the Breakfast Tea had run out but the tall slim waitress made us some tea. Dinner was excellent but the room was cooler due to the doors being open to facilitate the wedding next day. Morticia with blond hair was very good and run off a route to the M5.

Hedgehogs ,but the dogs loved them. Signage could have been,(no Sat Nav.)

Receptionist.

Our room was over hot. There were two radiators in the room,the thermostatic valves on one was broken off, the other was stuck full on. we couldn't turn down the heat. The mattresses were thin and when I sat up my bottom touched the base. I think this hotel aspires to be a resort destination but there is more to be done yet. At dinner I ordered olives from the menu but they came back and told me they had run out with no offer of alternatives. Not very good. I think we paid for what they apire to rather than what we got.

A lovely hotel that is very dog-friendly and serves excellent food. Our only issue with our stay was that the meal service was extremely slow. We were sitting in the Conservatory as we had our dog with us. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the service was slow. Perhaps this was because it was a Sunday evening? Other than this we had a very pleasant time.

Food service

Very friendly and helpful staff. The buildings are full of character and have a cosy, homely feel. Good idea to have happy hour in the bar. Plenty of parking space and good WiFi. Good location for visiting the surrounding area.

Very uncomfortable bed - but we were moved to a much better room once I mentioned this at Reception. Lots of noisy dogs, as it is dog- friendly. If you don't like dogs, maybe not ideal?
