Have stayed numerous times, and have always enjoyed this hotel and will return again. The staff are always smartly dressed, which makes a huge difference aware of their roles and happy to help. Facilities always clean, the reception is inviting and the breakfast is brilliant.

The property itself is perfect, however i do think when you are already paying a higher price for accommodation you shouldn’t have to pay for parking also £18 per car, per night to park a car, when you’ve already paid to stay at the hotel is steep. I understand putting a charge on for those not staying.

The Big Blue Hotel is our go to hotel in Blackpool. We have stayed on numerous occasions. The service is excellent and the facilities are good. The rooms are well appointed in this price bracket. We stayed in a superior room 417, which was large and had views over the pleasure beach, although we choose to stay usually in winter when the park is closed. The breakfast is buffet style and has all the usual content, presented well and plentiful. We did not use the restaurant on this occasion.

The same gripe as a previous visit, the hotel wants to charge £18 for an overnight stay in the onsite car park. My visits are usually out of season and the pleasure beach is closed so demand for parking is lower. £18 is not good value.

Excellent location, easy to access trams to town, friendly and helpful staff, room large with comfy bed, had three good nights sleep, quiet hotel, sitting area nice touch with comfy chairs, clean with plenty of toiletries, tea making facilities and water provided. Breakfast was plentiful, only negative was bacon could have been crisper (my preference) and orange juice not to be watered down. Excellent stay.

Parking at hotel car park was £20 a night which felt was extortionate. I’ve never paid that much when staying anywhere else including London. So feel that was over the top and should be reduced to say £12 per night which would be more acceptable. Plus stayed out of season.

The room was nice, large, great sitting area after a long day of walking. The view onto Pleasure Beach (even though it was closed) was actually quite nice. The hotel itself is quite large but it often felt like we had the run of the place to ourselves (probably more to do with the time of year we visited). All staff members we interacted with were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The paid parking was a joke. After we arrived late evening, paid for two days and then saw an abundance of street parking available in the morning, we were disappointed. Clearly the Big Blue Hotel has never heard of Off Season and are incapable of adjusting policies based on time of year. The hotel itself was already quite pricey, so waiving the £18 per day parking wouldn't have broken them. The room is really starting to look run down. Tiles in the bathroom were coming undone, the wood panelling has large chips removed near the door.

We return every year, to this hotel, it is always a very clean environment. With helpful staff, some more knowledgeable about the local area / local activities than us, but able to point us in the right direction if needed. The room service staff was polite when passing and lovely. Happy to help and top up what was needed even if you didn’t require a full room service. There was card offering £5 off your bill if you didnt require room service, however this was not explained at check in just something we found in the room, not sure fully how that works, but a great incentive had we of known (as we never use it). The hotel was very busy with the Strictly Stars & fans on the Friday night which they dealt with impeccably considering the fans. Our room was spotless, and we had a great view into the pleasure beach (our favourite part of the hotel). Highly recommend Waff-la Burg for a sweet treat located near the hotel!!

Breakfast options, on the first morning were sparse im guessing as it was mid week, even though we visited before end of service. We still had to request food to be cooked / topped up. Saturday morning was better but could do with more variety for the cooked breakfast, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding etc rather than just beans bacon, sausage and egg.

Beautiful Hotel, Decoration around Hotel was gorgeous, Cosy Rooms, Beds were comfortable and Big in size. Rooms were equipped with everything you needed for eg: Toiletries, Tea & Coffee Facilities and extra Super Comfortable Pillows.

The £20 Car Parking Fee was a little steep and you didn’t guarantee a car parking space if you went out. We had a disabled badge and parked outside of the car barrier so the car wasn’t protected. I do understand the parking charge due to people visiting Blackpool Pleasure Beach and parking up free all day, but staying at the hotel you should have a parking ticket or card to show you’re staying there.

Stuart on reception was exceptional. He needs to be hotel manager. He is clearly naturally amazing at hospitality and an asset to the business. The hotel smelt amazing in every corner, was immaculately clean, every staff member was beyond pleasant, and the room was beautiful. It was my partners birthday and I sent a request for a birthday card and was given an upgrade free of charge to the kings suite. You made his birthday the best he’s ever had. Its gestures like that which make people’s memories extra special. Thank you so much for our stay. There is a reason this hotel has the reviews it has. Very well earned.

We loved everything

Complimentary room upgrade was much appreciated and the hotel layout and staff attitude was very good. The bar area well set out with the outside patio tables in the sunshine a nice bonus and the bar and restaurant staff very friendly and quick. The hotel's proximity to the promenade, beach and south pier a major plus of course. Bed was very comfortable but shower could do with a grab handle to avoid slipping when getting in and out of the bath to access the excellent power shower ... not as agile as I used to be! Secure ANPR car park very handy and not too expensive at £18 for 24hrs. Look forward to staying again :) !

I think chef was having an off night as some of our food was not at 4* standard but to be fair it was very busy and good value for money.

Friendly staff. Big clean spacious hotel. Double room with partial sea view nice,basic ,bathroom not top marks as the toilet is literally under the sink as you sit down and the tap is designed poorly as you literally need to turn it completely to the wall to turn it off. The coffees in the bar area at night were superb and the 2 gentlemen serving were very friendly . Not too far to go to get a tram to ride the lights etc.

Car parking costly. 20 pounds to park just in the disabled space outside the door, not even to park behind their secure parking barrier. However later learnt you get charged 10 pounds parking if you've booked your stay via the hotel but 10 pounds extra if booked through from booking.com ,which I think is over priced..
