Mike in reception was incredibly helpful. He was friendly and always willing to answer questions. He even moved me to a balcony room so as to reduce the amount of noise coming from the Christmas parties… very thoughtful but totally appropriated. The location was also ideal.

That I had to leave!

It was all lovely.. Staff were really helpful and friendly.. The bar and games room was amazing.. Definitely recommend.. The jaccuzi was absolutely amazing.. Literally a 5 min walk to the beach.

The pool wasn't open as they has a leak.. Didn't get much sleep either as the walls are really thin and the neighbours kept us awake arguing all night

The hotel exceeded our expectations, we booked a night away for our anniversary and they upgraded us to a room with a balcony! The Reception staff were incredibly helpful and the walk along the promenade into the town centre was stunning.

We booked to use the Pool/Jacuzzi in the evening, and we were well aware that is it unsupervised. The spa area is passcode-locked, but it didn't seem like this was enforced properly, as a large group of young boys came down and 'took over' the pool, doing lots of dive-bombs and splashing us and the young family that were there too. I expect none of these lads were actually booked in to use the spa, so it was very hard to relax in this environment.

The location was perfect, less than 10 minutes walk to Alum Chine, although the walk back is up hill. The hotel is dog friendly. The room was ideal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. There was live entertainment on two of the evenings that we were there.

The hotel is very dog friendly, however as breakfast is served in the dining room and guests with dogs need to eat in the bar grill area guests need to go back and forth via the reception area to get breakfast, although the staff are very helpful with this. As a suggestion I wondered if the staff could confirm with guests in the bar grill area before clearing away the breakfast as those guests are unable to see it is happening and do not have the opportunity to get anything prior to it being taken away. The noise from the air conditioning unit was disappointing when we arrived as we had specifically wanted to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the views, however we did get used to it and there was no noise at night.

we have stayed before. we like the fact it's dog friendly. usually has entertainment and lovely meals, so no need to eat out at night, as dog allowed in bar restaurant.

unfortunately as it was Christmas all three nights, they had parties, which took over the bar area, we ate there first night but it was so noisy and we felt like introduers. it would have been nice to have been given a heads up about this. we struggled to find any where dog friendly to eat at night that wasn't booked up. had to order room service second night. menu was very limited due to the parties too. third night managed to find a outside resturant. This was the only downside, as we had planned to just relax at the hotel in the evening.

The sheets were clean comfortable beds staff very nice politeness and helpful good breakfasts short walk to the beach spar good they had entertainment each night we stayed we would go there again nice hotel all round Also they had a few games to play table tennis air hockey pool table and sofas to chill out that area we had a nice stay thank you

Couldn't leave the dogs in the room alone they was tired out and would sleep to go to bar or spa so my husband stayed with them in the evening so I could go down to spa and bar but they're the hotels rules on dogs I understand that but it hasn't put me off going again as it was a great hotel

The hotel is clean, it's dog-friendly, the staff are very welcoming & helpful & the facilities are fabulous! The mattress in our room was superb - very firm & no risk of leaving with backache! Lots of things to do if all you want to do is hang out at the hotel - there's a pool & spa, along with lots of games tables - table tennis & football, a pool table, etc. There was even some live musical entertainment in the Bridge bar area on one of the evenings we were there. The hotel is also perfectly located for a walk in Alum Chine & a walk along the beach. You can even walk along the beachfont to Sandbanks if you're keen! We loved it!

Nothing to dislike really. Just make sure you get to breakfast at a reasonable time, as they tend to run out of some popular favourites towards the end of the session, particularly if there's a big coach party in!

What a great hotel. Very quaint, with a traditional feel. The lady who checked us in was fabulous and went out of her way to ensure we had a nice room allocated. There was a Christmas party on during our stay and she wanted to make sure we wouldn't be disturbed by any noise - which we weren't. Room was very clean, with a great view and smelt soo nice! We stayed here to be close to Alum Chine beach, and it was the perfect location! We used the hotel bar and this was perfect for a few quiet drinks, before the Christmas party goers joined but we enjoyed the DJ and watching the cheesy dancing! Great all round hotel, would definitely stay again to hopefully use the pool facilities next time!

Shower pressure a little low, if I had to find something! Everything was great!

My recent stay was for three nights. For me, although the allocated double room was ok for one person, two people would have struggled. No space to stand up on one side of the bed, a chair was provided and filled the available space. I later found out that neighbouring rooms were laid out differently and would have suited me better. The sea view and balcony were paid for and appreciated. The bathroom, although clean had decaying wood and poor paintwork behind the loo which spoilt the look. The bathroom was tiny, the handbasin and loo too close together. However the room was serviced daily and looked good when I returned. The noise problem was really with loose floorboards along the corridor, many times I thought someone was trying to enter my room. The fire alarm worked well, one night at 23.30 when a "false alarm" was declared. The restaurant standard was a pleasant surprise, panoramic views towards the sea, from the first line tables. I ate in each night, and appreciated good quality for the size of the hotel. Breakfasts were plentiful and of an enjoyable standard, great coffee! Its clear that people trust this long established hotel , I saw weddings, families, couples and coach groups enjoying their stays. The pool and spa were the icing on the cake, during my stay sometimes I was the only user. Proximity to Alum Chine beach was a bonus, as were the bus service nearby, I didnt need a car. About £35 to the airport by taxi.

I have completed a satisfaction survey. This is a Hotel of a certain age and theres nothing wrong with that. In hindsight I should have asked to change room.

The room was of good size as I had paid for extra room, the room furniture being of brown wood makes the room look very dated. I reported a broken toilet roll holder on the day we arrived , a person came and looked at it the next day, said it was broken, took a part away and that was the last we saw of him. The breakfast was excellent , a really nice selection of different foods, very pleased with the food. The location was okay, a 5 minute walk down to the beach, but 10 to 15 minute steep walk back up. only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop.

We didn't like all the steps to get to our room, especially on arrival carrying our cases down, being pensioners we thought that was a bit too much, for this reason I would not stay there again.
