For a motel it was better than some hotels! The friendliness of the staff, how quiet it was, considering there is a pub at the front of the building, and the much welcomed "breakfast included" combined to make it one the best experiences yet. Everything you need is easily accessible and nearby which includes the beach at Porthcawl.

There wasn't anything to dislike. Everything was as it should be to have a very comfortable time. Only downside was the Internet connection as it wasn't the best but was adequate enough. Though, to be fair the connectivity in the area was of poor quality for all networks I found.

Very friendly and welcoming staff 😊 quite quiet in the rooms and plenty going on if you want a bit of night life in the pub at the front of the building. Easy parking and great food on offer. Breakfast, lunch and dinner 😁 Had a lovely comfortable 2 night stay.

Nothing to say here to be honest 😊 I really was very comfortable here. They even let you know if they are busy at any time through your stay.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, very friendly, and approachable. If you want a comfortable and quiet room, a good breakfast, a shower that could almost peel paint, and no fuss, this is top-notch. For an overnight stay, this is ideal and would be good for a weekend visit, too, as the hotel is very near the Kenfig Burrows nature reserve (recommended for a visit). We didn't eat in the dining room in the evening, but the bars were well-organised and well-run, with staff having a can-do attitude to their jobs.

It's fair to say the bathroom was a little tired. However, put it this way, a comfortable and well-equipped room, free WiFi, en-suite facilities, and good service were worth more than the price we paid for the room. We've had far worse at supposedly better and more expensive hotels.

Bedrooms were clean and looked newly decorated with comfy beds. The bathroom looks outdated but clean with a shower in bath that does the job. Large screen TV in the bedroom and there's tea and coffee making facilities Friendly bar & restaurant staff. The owner is also very friendly. Drinks sold at reasonable prices. Lovely home cooked meals served at lunch and dinner time, generous portions and charged at reasonable prices. Desserts also delicious and again generous portions. Small cooked breakfast was included in stay, which was delicious and filling. You could help yourself to toast, fresh orange juice and cereal.. when you asked for tea or coffee, it was provided in a pot which you could get 4 cups out of. We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely come back.

Can't think of anything.

There was nothing to fault at this motel. The rooms are a little dated, but perfectly serviceable and comfortable with plenty of storage and desk space. I had requested a room with walk in shower if available, but we were given a room with a bath, which I can't use. As we were only staying for 2 nights, I was able to manage, so not a deal-breaker. The lovely lady who replenished our tea/coffee supplies suggested what room might be suitable for me to request should we visit again. Breakfast was very good and service was speedy. We also ate in the restaurant in the evenings and the food was very good value and served in very large portions. No complaints there either. Best of all was the staff - welcoming and friendly and clearly all happy in their work.

Nothing, other than a walk in shower, purely because I cannot use a bath.

Room was very clean, good size and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast. Ate in the restaurant, which was handy and good value. Easy to find. Slept well. Remarkably quiet. No traffic noise and very little noise from other guests. Briefly heard some people briefly talking in the corridor on their way to their rooms, nothing after that. Car park was almost empty when I looked out in the morning, but I hadn't heard a thing.

All good, but if I had to make a suggestion, a hook on the bathroom door would be handy.

Room was very spacious and clean. Plenty of tea/coffee. Good parking. Room had a good working radiator. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Food was delicious and arrived very quickly and piping hot. Very impressed with menu. Location is perfect for exploring lots of interesting places within a 30 mile radius. Occasionally you can hear music from the pub upstairs, but that is to be expected when you stay next to a bar. It didn't really bother us and did not affect us falling asleep on Saturday night. Mattress springs were a little on the worn side, but we did get a decent sleep. Wifi initially didn't work in the room, but a lovely bar man reset the router and we were able to connect after that. Staff could not do enough for us. Lovely people. On the whole we would definitely come back to Green Acres again.

Decor needs updating. Cracks in some bathroom tiles. Cold water tap runs hot until you run it on full for a minute, then it goes cold. Shower curtain rail rusted. Could do with a grab rail on the wall to get in and out of the bath when showering. Toilet seat wasn't fixed properly to the main unit so kept banging against the cistern when sitting on it. NONE of this would be a deal breaker for staying here again!

A great stay, lovely evening meal, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and very clean.

Maybe a slightly bigger breakfast, one piece of bacon, one sausage and one egg was not quite enough for me but everybody is different, maybe a 10.00am finish on breakfast would be better, I went in at 9.15am and was told I might not have made it time and the waitress had to ask the chef if he would do something for me. Its a 9.30am cut off! Saying this I would definitely stay again without hesitation, they got everything else completely right and they were lovely people.

Positives: Great location, definitely needs a bit of modernisation but for the price it was fine. Food is cheap(!!) but tasty. Plenty of parking, cheap bar, nice atmosphere, clean, well maintained.

Negatives: Unfortunately the night we ate in the restaurant they had a large, unpleasant and rude family dominating their restaurant so food too AGES and service was lacking. The cleaners woke us up at 8am on Saturday morning which wasn't ideal. Breakfast is too early so I missed it 2 out of 3 mornings.

Room was spacious, and well equipped. Tea & coffee making facilities. Large well equipped en-suite with towels & toiletries and perhaps the most powerful shower I’ve experienced in a hotel room. Wonderfully comfortable bed. For me personally a comfortable bed is essential. I need to sleep, so As long as the bed is comfortable, that’s all that matters for me. The Green Acre bed was a 10/10 for comfort. Evening meal was also very good. There was not much I could fault about Green Acre.

For what you pay for, there’s not a lot you can complain about. If I was being overly critical, the en-suite bathroom was dated. But that may have added to the character of the hotel.
