The place was really comfortable and in a great area. It is in a well connected location and the staff were all super friendly, helpful, and nice. It was a great atmosphere to be able to have a pint and watch the Euros downstairs and was an easy bus ride from the train station.

The shared facilities (toilet and bathroom) weren't always the cleanest (by no fault of the staff). Lack of window screen and an aircon unit that didn't work meant we were at the mercy of the single window open to the courtyard during our entire stay for ventilation/any cool air during early summer. It wasn't particularly warm while we were there so it wasn't a massive inconvenience but worth noting.

Comfortable and clean beds, lovely staff that were happy to chat, facilities regularly cleaned, good location, very cool pub attached. Overall a great hostel that just needs some work on accessibility, I’m able bodied and even I strugged getting in and out of the toilets and into my room at points. It’s definitely more of a place for those that want to enjoy the nightlife as it gets loud at night also. If you like to party and don’t have any physical limitations I’d recommend this, the private rooms looked nice too

No curtains on bed, room got hot at night, heavy and noisy dorm door that was difficult to unlock and would slam closed from the weight of it, toilet doors were difficult to unlock and needed a super strong grip to twist, winding corridors and stairs to get in and out, never any tea or coffee in tin during my 4 night stay as advertised

Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Food/drink are available right outside or in the bar downstairs. Location is pretty good for an easy walk to the main attractions. A bit longer of a walk to the train station.

Room can be a little noisy or hot in the summer, so bring some earplugs etc as per usual. More solo-traveler activities are always appreciated.

Our private room was part of a loft under the roof. There were three bedrooms sharing a bathroom and living room/kitchen. The ceiling is very narrow so tall people might have difficulties enjoying these particular rooms. However there are plenty other shared bedrooms. The hostel is part of a bar, so music and people chattering are naturally a thing up until late. This is info was given before booking, so that was fine for us. Security is in place and let's only house guests pass into the dorm area. We liked the many nice decorating details on the walls and in the flat.

I was very anxious on arrival but was greeted and shown around by a really kind and patient member of staff. Straight away this made me feel more comfortable, thank you so much to the lovely staff for that The entire place is visually very beautiful. It's really lovely to stay somewhere that celebrates creative expression. There is a communal area available to guests although i didn't venture out there. It's good to know that was available to me had I been brave/sociable enough to use it, but as I'm autistic and this is my first time travelling alone I preferred to keep to myself this time around. This was respected by the other guests I encountered who were very pleasant and just gave me a smile and a "hi". Seems like all types of people are welcome here. Bed was exceptionally comfy, much comfier than my own bed at home. Everywhere was reasonably clean and tidy and there was enough staff/CCTV around that I felt safe staying here, even as a woman travelling alone. Checking out was a quick and easy process as well which I really appreciated. Very convenient location, easy to get to the city centre, various event venues and the train station. There are lots of bus stops and well-lit routes that are pleasant to walk I stayed on Halloween so expected it to be very noisy late into the night, but it really wasn't that bad at all.

Some dirty/greasy marks along the walls of the shared room I stayed in and the window sill was a bit ratty. The price I paid was a little bit higher than other hostels in the area as well, but it's not really a big deal considering the great personality and facilities this place has Nothing to complain about really!

If you are looking for a party place and location to mingle, this is the perfect hostel for you! Yes, the interior has seen better days (run-down carpets, interior) and the music from the next-door bar is blasting throughout the night, but the dorm and communal spaces were clean and the very friendly staff gave superb recommendations of what to see and do in Bristol. As a female traveller, I felt safe and well looked after at all times. Overall, I had a great stay but.. again.. do not stay there if you are seeking tranquility/serenity. You will most likely not find it there (during the weekend).

The showers could definitively use additional hangers or storage spaces. Else, nada.. great place!

Great stay as always, super friendly staff, hostel in the heart of Bristol with an amazing night scene and the pub right at the bottom. Close to the coach station and the shopping and night life area. Really the way to go to live the true Bristol experience.

Please add more lockers, all in my room were taken. There should be one locker per bed... The good side of sleeping at a pub is also its bad side, noise during the weekend. Make sure to wear earplugs if you pretend to sleep before 2am on weekends. This place is mostly for youth looking to enjoy the city night life anyway.

Well equipped large kitchen, safe for women who are single travellers. It's quite noisy (I use ear defenders as well as ear buds) when there's an event in the pub on the ground floor but the revellers can't walk into the hostel and wander around knocking on doors, vomiting in the corridors etc. so it's actually safer and cleaner than some house shares or apartment buildings!

I wish people would stop making phone calls when in the dorms. The mattress covers are nearly too small for the mattresses, it's a struggle to put them on. Maybe just get mattress covers for double beds, which people will then be able to drape over the mattresses, like tablecloth over a table?

Everything was awesome. Enough bathroom and shower facilities to cater for everyone. The general vibe was really cool, with the pub/bar downstairs and food truck vibe. Guests get discounted food and drinks which was a plus.

Staff were generally really good with the exceptional of one. After check out we left our bags at collect later. When we collected I tried to use the hostel bathroom but was refused to as I no longer had a key tag. Instead I was shown to the disgusting bar toilet with a toilet door that didn't lock. A bit of consideration would have been great, last impressions do matter and that just didn't sit well.
