The room was lovely and large and easy to get around with my elderly mum of 101 only one problem for me because I’ve got perfect hearing it was extremely noisy with the I presume outside air-conditioning unit that major horrendous noise quite often and scared me to death when it first went off. Breakfast was exceptional and made a pleasant change in a hotel to have very hot food and often being topped up and toasting machine that actually toasted your toast.

The noise that came into the bedroom We were staying in room 123 either form air-conditioning units or fan units not too sure but it was very noisy and woke me up several times and frighten me to death when it first went off luckily my mum is 101 and didn’t hear it.

We stayed at the Village Hotel Wirral for the first time recently. So here's our "loves" and "not so loved": Loved: 1) Warm, friendly greeting by young lady on reception. She was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. 2) Large, tastefully decorated room and en suite shower room, which was also airy and large tv with Sky Sports. Also had a decent sized steam iron and a hair dryer. 3) The shower had a rainfall shower head, which was brilliant. What's more, there was also a hand-held shower head for more intimate washing (a great benefit to the ladies out there (if you know, you know😉), which shows the hotel owners/managers know a thing or two about their more specific guests needs. 4) The bed was spacious (either king or super king size, can't remember), very, very comfortable and clean. The duvet was soft, and warm too. 5) Hotel was in a nice residential area, near to a retail park with a Nandos restaurant, McDonald's, Odeon cinema, Boots, Next, Asda supermarket and lots of other well-known stores, for any essentials you may have forgotten to pack in your luggage😉. It was also easy to get to A roads for our travels. There was plenty free on site parking for guests at the weekend during our weekend stay.(but check with hotel before you arrive).

Did not love: 1) Room was not as clean as I'd have liked, for instance, the shower screen had water marks from previous guest's. Also the tiles behind the hand-held shower head wasn't sufficiently clean (showed dirt marks/smudges). 2) The legs of the dressing table had enough dust to enable me to draw a pattern on them and to come off on my fingers! Looked like they hadn't been dusted for at least a couple of weeks. 3) There wasn't a socket for charging phones on both sides of the bed, only on one side. Would have been better to have another socket on the other side too. 4) There was no full length mirror in our room.

Very warm welcome on arrival, upgraded our room which meant we had free access to leisure facilities. Allowed us to check out and then return for breakfast which was lovely. We had an issue with the room and it was dealt with straight away.

We had a sock on the floor at the side of our bed and when I reached down to move it, found a pair of filthy flip flops under the bed. We informed staff on reception who gave us a voucher for 2 free drinks and offered to have someone clean the room. As we were only staying one night and had our stuff all unpacked, we didn't feel this was necessary. The rest of the room was immaculate.

Nice stay, very modern room, soft closing drawers and toilet seat. The last occupants had taken the batteries from the remote and the hotel staff were quick to replace them. They couldn't do enough for us. We had one problem, there was one light in the room we couldn't find a switch for and it looked as if it would be on all night, but we eventually found it behind the television. The food in the hotel was great, we had so much for lunch, we only ordered a club sandwich for tea. And that was a meal in itself. Breakfast was great, with personal service. Highly recommended. .

We had one pillow that was a bit lumpy and I'm sure they would have replaced it if we were staying a second night. We used the pool and the staff there could have been more helpful.

Overall it was an amazing stay, the room was clean, comfortable and warm! The staff were helpful and the bar/coffee shop was super handy downstairs!

The only thing I would say is that there was two intoxicated men that were verbally abusing us as we were trying to check in. The staff did absolutely nothing about it and they watched as they kept pestering us. When I asked if they could be removed from the building they didn’t care at all and permitted them to stay in the bar. That was the only downside to the stay, everything else was good.

Room was ENORMOUS! adequate for my needs with mobility scooter Everything clean and new and tasteful. I slept like a LOG in the beautiful king size bed!! The staff went out of their way to make my trip a comfortable, manageable, and a total pleasure. They were exemplary. The Grill and Bar were open, welcoming and the food was delicious, The chef went all out to accommodate special requests/diets for my guests and myself. I will certainly come again!!

I do appreciate the benefit to many people to have the TV screens in the Grill and Bar, especially for sports fans. For myself I would have been more at ease without so much noise!! The staff did kindly offer to serve us in the reception area. I really understand the need to have fire doors in the hotel. For me it was SO HEAVY to open and hold whilst I manoevered myself in and out of the lovely room. I did wonder if a more automatic system (button to swing the door open) would ever be possible? In every other way the access facilities for me (living with MS)and people like me were beyond excellent.

Everything, the staff were professional and very polite. We thought the receptionist who guessed our names was very touching when we arrived around 8 pm, making our wedding day very special. We felt like VIPs. The room was big and immaculate, and the bottle of bubbly was an excellent touch. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean and done to a high standard. Would recommend to family and friends. The whole experience was excellent.

There is no smart TV to connect to apps. Just a basic TV, but this was OK.

The staff member on reception was very friendly and helpful, the room was big and clean. The pool and leisure facilities were much better than I expected, huge, clean and warm, with plenty of loungers. The on-site Starbucks was a lovely bonus.

There was no extraction fan in the bathroom (or it wasn't working) so had to leave the door open while showering or else the steam was overwhelming. This also meant that I couldn't use the mirror for a while afterwards. The food menu wasn't the best, not much choice, especially if you didn't fancy something heavy and greasy.

It was a lovely hotel, rooms, swimming pool and restaurant. you don’t have to pay for parking at the weekend also when booking on here swimming is included in weekend stays but if it’s not it’s only £5 per room and children can swim from 9-12 so that’s good. food In restaurant was lovely and plentiful not to expensive and great kids menu with drink and pudding included in price. hotel and restaurant staff really polite, friendly and attentive. would stay again.

parking spaces where hard to come by as it seems there wasn’t separated parking for hotel guests, so all people using the gym took up most spaces. gym/swimming staff were very rude… very reluctant to help. almost shocked when I didn’t know how to get to the pool and enquired about a locker ( I have never been here before) seemed annoyed they had to do something that wasn’t talk amongst themselves and other gym goers.

Really cosy and exceptionally clean & tidy place and I’ve to quite a few village hotels. Hotel and pool staff extremely kind and helpful is probably the main reason this Village hotel is of such a high standard. Special thanks to the reception staff.

The only downside why I couldn’t give it a 10 is some food that wasn’t cooked/made well (probably due to busyness at the time). A massive improvement/training in cocktail making needed (no basic knowledge of how cocktails are to be served)
