Was lovely and clean beautifully decorated, bed was incredibly comfortable.

It was New Year’s Eve so expected that the Bar was going to be extremely busy, but didn’t like that we had to walk through the bar and out the back to get to our room, as we had to fight a crowd to get to the room and getting past the door staff was quiet hard as well trying to explain every time we went to re enter the building that we where actually staying their. Would definitely return at a quieter time to be able to avail of the restaurant as well as the kitchen closed early. The breakfast was beautiful and all staff was very helpful.

location was perfect for starting our drive on the antrim coast. we arrived dinner time saturday and parking was a bit full but we found a spot. do make a reservation at ownies if you plan to eat there, it was very popular! we ended up at mayor indian which was fantastic (thanks to the staff for the rec). the pub is also very popular in the evenings and will be loud until closing at 1am on weekends. we enjoyed a bit of the fun but were also ok to head to bed without too much interference in the back apartment. but if youre a light sleeper with an early start make note.

the room and decor were great and i know its tough with coastal weather, but a bleach spray for a bit of shower mold would be easy.

We loved everything. From the shower to the comfy bed. I truly enjoy the routine of housekeeping and how thoughtful the staff is. If you are travelling with children, Ownies Bar and Bristo appear to be pretty crowded at night, but the sound isolation from the rooms is pretty good. Live music was a plus! Breakfast is offered here, and I was impressed that after a long night, it was perfect in the morning. Delicious breakfast with traditional bread. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner here, and it was fantastic. The location is another bonus: easy parking, seafront, close to the castle (we walked there). It's close to Belfast and not far from the airport with a car. We absolutely want to come back!

Spacious, clean room. Had mostly everything we needed but I think for the room price individual toiletries (both shampoo and conditioner) would've been appreciated. The shower gel/shampoo combo isn't great on the hair! Next door to a pub so expected some noise but it wasn't too bad. Staff were lovely, breakfast was good. Location is great with a lovely view if you have a front-facing room. Decor was a bit chipped/tired/dated and the ripped wallpaper by the entrance door needs replacing.

We were asked to go to the pub next door for the check in - despite the busy evening we were attended straight away, and we were brought to our lovely room, it was huge, we did not except such a big room, brilliant. Very comfortable, very clean. In the morning we had breakfast (full Uslter fry) at the pub. Staff was very friendly. At night there were live bands in the pub but we could not hear the noise at all from our room which was great! For our check out, we had an early wake to go to do the Gobbins Walk so we left at 8.15am (and missed breakfast) but there was someone in the pub already, where we could drop our bags to be looked after which was great. We would love to go back, it is a handy option for a quiet stay and with a quick access to Belfast (20 min by train).

We had such a lovely stay here! The room was absolutely gorgeous and massive, with a really nice bathroom with a large shower. Everything was in perfect condition and it was just so beautiful, I was amazed by the luxury for this price. Kettle, fridge and hairdryer were available in the room. TV had many channels and Netflix available. Breakfast was delicious. The bar next door has a small dinner menu but upstairs there is a restaurant where we had an amazing dinner, definitely recommended! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful and we could leave our luggage after checkout in a safe spot so we could go explore the castle.

Honestly nothing, everything was wonderful and we are recommending this hotel to everyone looking to go to the area!

The lady who showed us to our room was so warm and welcoming. She showed us to our room, how to work everything and explained where to go for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble! Best welcome we've ever had! I'm just sad I forgot her name, to be able to write it in the review. We were visiting for a wedding, but I know carrick well and the location is perfect. Ideal for shops, pubs, food, and the castle. Train station is only a short walk and so it's so easy to get in and out of belfast. The rooms are gorgeous, my other half is a plumber and admired the no expense spared Bathroom! Decoration was great. Bed was very comfortable. The room had everything we needed. Breakfast was gorgeous, too. We had an ulster fry. Ownies bar next door is a top quaint bar. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful room with plenty of space and nice decor. Full breakfast included which is excellent value given the price of the room. It’s super close to Carrickfergus Castle and only about a 15 min drive from Belfast. In hindsight, I would have stayed here for an extra night rather than in Belfast as you wouldn’t be able to find anything close to this for similar prices in Belfast. It was my favourite stay during my 2 week trip in Ireland/Northern Ireland!

Nothing, but note that check in is done next door at the bar. That is also where breakfast is served. Note that there is no elevators at this property and parking is on the street (there is also paid parking 100 metres away).

Nice location. Easy walk to nearby castle and the strand. The reception and restaurant/bar help were very sweet, efficient and helpful. The room was generously sized. Bathroom looked new and well appointed. Having a mini fridge was also very nice although we didn’t need one.

Got a bit noisy after 10:00 p.m. the only reason I’d rate this stay down a notch. It did quiet down later after midnight. Our room was more of a basement room and we could hear the boiler or other machinery working as well. Thus the reason for ear plugs!!! After awhile you kind of forget about it though.

The place is amazing, the decor, the colors and the materials are beautiful. I have not seen a room as clean as that even in 5* hotels! Absolutely amazing! The best add on is the beautiful bar next door who belongs to the same owner, the food is great and they have live music which only adds to the experience with the friendly and open staff! Walter takes amazing care of the place and it was lovely meeting him learning more about his place. Highly recommended!
