The hotel itself is lovely and very well presented. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rooms and restaurants were above expectation. The hotel has great potential and I would be happy to stay again.

The only thing that let the hotel down was the fact we were refused robes for the spa. This is something I have never come across before after staying in many spa hotels. We were told that our room wasn't superior and therefore didn't qualify for a robe. I know this is an extremely minor thing in the grand scheme of things but it definitely left a bad taste for us. My husband and I spent £240 on a room for one night which we wouldn't consider 'cheap' and it was our one night away from the children so we were looking forward to a true spa experience. Had it not been for this everything would have been perfect but unfortunately for the sake of washing two extra robes we were left to feel unwelcome.

Lovely stay at the Grosvenor pulford. Ate in palm court restaurant for evening meal which was so nice. Food, drinks and entertainment was spot on. Fella playing on a piano singing which made the environment so relaxed. Rooms lovely and cosy. Staff welcoming. Lovely spa and we booked a massage treatment. Breakfast was great too.

Spa treatment although was a lovely massage we did not get given a robe was told only get them with spa packages but i felt that we have paid for a treatment why not be given a robe. We had to put on our clothes after being covered in oils.

Stayed as a group of 3 to celebrate a birthday. Our room was very spacious with a double bed, a sofa bed and a single bed. Hotel slippers and robes for us all were provided but be aware of the cost if you lose or take the robes. They're not cheap! Tea / coffee/ hot choc, biscuits in room. Swimming pool was good, bit chilly but the hot tub was lovely. We went down on the Saturday evening before going out so it wasn't busy. My friend went down the following morning and said it was much busier. Pub and restaurant on site and the breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. I asked and was given Gluten Free toast which they prepared in the kitchen and bought out for me. Friendly staff. Entrance hall to the hotel is very nice and spacious but there's a lot of dust in places. Would come back I think if the price was right. We got a good deal, which was no more than what we've paid for at standard B&B's. Free wifi in the hotel. A lovely hotel and would recommend to others, only a short distance from Chester city centre. We had a great time :)

Room could've done with hooks to hang towels after showering. Mattress on double bed was very lumpy in places (I did mention this to staff and they thanked me for telling them). So if you stay in room 38 hopefully this is rectified :) don't think the sofa bed was the best either according to my friend. Getting a taxi / uber wasn't an easy task and we wasted time on this and in the end my friend drove to the park n ride. £5 return for three but meant she couldn't drink.

Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff who always go above and beyond. We were left birthday cakes and a card and complimentary upgraded on our room. This just made our stay 10x better! We love this hotel and have visited 8 times in the last 2 years. The spa is amazing very clean and great facilities.

The lockers in the spa are very outdated and have either no key or not pin to keep it safe on your swimwear. They are also very stiff when locking or unlocking. There was also no shower head in the main pool shower by the sauna. The sauna was also unsafe, I cut myself on a piece of wood and then the following day it was out of order as the wood was missing. So I assume this was unsafe.

Felt Very welcomed. The special treat for our dog was so sweet!!

Good breakfast. Lovely gardens. Good spa, though pricey. Great oriental garden accessible from spa. Helpful staff. Good food on the whole. The aperitif/ coffee tables in the à la carte restaurant.

What a pity only roast dinners are served on Sundays ( all day) in the a la carte restaurant. Our adult son whose special weekend this was - and who has worked in Hospitality was both amazed and disappointed. Why not serve the roast dinners in Nelsons pub ? We would have booked elsewhere had I known about this ‘roast dinner’ issue longer in advance. Or arranged to eat out ( which rather defeated the purpose of coming to stay at all…..).

The staff were incredible. From reception staff, the waiting staff and those working in the spa, and from our first interactions via email until we left, everyone’s focus was on helping us have the best experience. Thank you all so much. The hotel feels luxurious and certainly a higher class than the price belied.

My only complaint would be the sofa bed in our triple room. We had been very kindly upgraded to this room to support my friend’s mobility issues (the room has an incredible walk in shower, as well as a roll top bath) and this sofa bed was where I was sleeping. Unfortunately, the mattress was poor, sagging uncomfortably in the middle and there was bare metal around the edges which made it hard to get in and out of without discomfort.

Dog friendly bar, bar was very nicely decorated. All areas around the hotel were very nice. Son used pool which again was very good. Room 22 was very spacious, luxurious, recently refurbished and bathroom was lovely. Staff were very friendly, we had an issue with noise in room and were very helpful in moving room.

There was a wedding in the function room and our room was directly above so was very noisy. However the staff were very good at solving the problem and quickly moved us. Therefore this was solved. Staff were very helpful. If you have a dog breakfast is carried through to Nelson's bar. Trays would be helpful to carry breakfast through or a serving station in Nelson's bar.

We booked to enjoy the spa/ leisure facilities. Reception area was lovely and palm court was beautiful to look at. Room are nice and clean-bed was huge Spa treatment makes me want to go back and I really recommend the back massage by Lynsey. The actually pool & jacuzzi area is a little dated but still nice. We relaxed in the spa gardens with a cocktail. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. I will definitely go back Ate at Nelson’s for lunch and it was lovely.

We spent Sunday here. & wanted to eat in palm court restaurant as it really is lovely to look at but it’s not the al la carte menu, it’s a carvery. It was really really nice however I’d prefer table service rather than getting up to get my own meal. Service was a bit slow when clearing empty plates.

Check in easy and online before arrival. Free and plentiful parking. Room was quiet and beautifully decorated, bathroom has a tv at the end of the bath, in all very luxurious. Free use of pool (which was wonderfully warm) sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Spa gardens are a delightful place to chill out with a glass of wine ( great options) watch the Koi, listen to the waterfalls - so relaxing. All the staff are so eager to please. Bathrobes, slippers etc in the room. As usual the food is of an exceptional standard and very reasonably priced. Should definitely be 5 stats. Our 4th stay and we will be back. Excellent value for money on a bed, breakfast and evening meal deal. Room 67 !!!!!!!🥰 nearly forgot they have beautiful gardens, with fountain and seating areas

The only thing I can say is I booked for a Sunday to eat in Palm Court - which has an exceptional menu - only to find out it was Carvery only. I think it may have been unclear with the booking agent. However the staff quickly and efficiently altered our booking to the The Nelson Bar, where yet again another great meal. Why is this hotel not 5 stars?
