Location was very central to the town and in walking distance for most things. The hotel had a nice ‘vibe’ to it. The room we had was very quiet - but I would imagine it could get noisy in the summer with the garden area at the back. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.

Just minor things that didn’t detract from our stay. The telephone system lit up sporadically throughout the night thus disturbing sleep- but easily rectified by putting a cover over it. Because it’s an old building there weren’t many plug sockets. So if I wanted to use the hair straighteners the mirror was at the other side of the room.

The location of the hotel is amazing, it really is in the heart of the town! As we arrived it looked beautiful! We were greeted by a really lovely, helpful lady on reception, who advised our room was ready early and we could therefore check in. Our room was decorated really nice, we had one double bed and two singles. The bathroom was really modern with good lighting. The bed was super comfy and had a great night sleep. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - a mix of cereals, pastries and fruit salad as a buffet and then cooked food you sat down and ordered. All staff working were so kind and attentive.

My friend and I stayed for New Years Eve, so we needed to get ready for the evening out. This was a little difficult because only the bathroom had good lighting. The main bedroom was quite dimly lit. There were free standing spotlights but they were too bright to use as extra lighting whilst getting ready. The temperature of the room was really, really hot. The radiators were off and we couldn't work out where the heat was coming from - there wasn't a dial on the wall to adjust. We didn't ask reception about this, we just used the fan and had the window open fully.

Location fabulous, staff very nice, the Christmas decorations were lovely. The lounge and bar are were very nice, loved the sofas and it was really cosy and inviting. Breakfast was fab, full English was perfect and great quality and great value for money. The other breakfast offers were fantastic. I would stay here again without a doubt, but only I’d get a different sleeping option/bigger room for the reasons below.

For feedback… the 2 single beds were so small I thought I was going to fall out so it wasn’t a pleasant sleep sadly. I understand it’s a small room and I think they move the beds in if you ask for two single beds, but I think I’d rather have two normal single beds and a bit less space than the tiny ones we had. Didn’t like the pillows they were too hard for my preference, but thats quite a personal thing and we’re all different.

A perfectly placed hotel within the walls of Chester close to all amenities. It has a family feel and some staff know you by name after a few days, but this was not intrusive and I felt very welcomed there. The staff are without doubt the biggest asset in the Townhouse - this was from booking, to reception, throughout the day and checking out. They will go out of the way to provide a special service. A lovely hotel that I cannot recommend enough, with an excellent breakfast choice and quality. I will be returning to trial in court there in November and have recommended to my colleagues. I shall certainly be booking it for myself first.

I really don't have any suggestions for improvement.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. The rooms were also very modern. There were also complementary bottles of water, a range of teas and biscuits in the room. Our stay was very comfortable and I would recommend the hotel as the service was fantastic.

We were on the top floor which meant we had to climb 4 flights of stairs however we were aware that there was no lift and we were in a traditional property. The shower was perfect in the evening but in the morning the water was either very hot or very cold. The lighting was not great as we were on the top floor in a room with eaves. One of the side lights did not work and you could only turn the main lights off near the entrance.

Modern, very clean, comfortable, and good looking hotel; excellent value for money. The room was large, beds comfy, and it was clean and quiet. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to wish my Mum a happy birthday and organised a surprise for her. Communication was great, the location was convenient, and breakfast was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel, and the breakfast. I look forward to coming back again soon.

There were a lot of stairs and no lift, which makes it difficult if you have a heavy suitcase, as you have to take it up lots of steps. The room window could not be opened to allow a bit of fresh air in. There was no air con or fan in the room, so it can be a bit uncomfortable if it’s a hot day.

We loved everything about the hotel and especially the Christmas vibe, this was our 1st visit at Christmas 🎄 The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the man who was working through the night during our stay (3rd Dec) was great serving drinks and even turned on the heaters outside when we went outside. I cannot find any fault apart from it would be great to have a mini fridge in the rooms. Beds were comfortable and rooms were nice and warm. Definitely will stay here again when we come to Chester great location 👍🏾

Can't fault it

Well placed location right near the centre of the city, its attractions & restaurants. Room rate was reasonable. Very clean, comfortable hotel. Room serviced fully every day. Mostly very friendly & helpful staff. We had an afternoon tea and a breakfast which were bother very well presented & tasty

Would be good to know in advance that the bedrooms were only accessible by a series of steep staircases - unexpected & unpleasant surprise to some of the guests we met. The hotel food whilst very good was expensive. Parking was in a local multi-story car park and the discount card given didn't always work

The biggest asset for this hotel is the staff: they're very friendly. The hotel is located in the town centre and so everything of note is within a short walk. The breakfast was good and there were no problems with the wifi. But be aware that it's an open network so one could question how secure it is.

For those with mobility issues, the stairs may be challenging. The major downside of the hotel is that if you're in one of the top rooms, the heat can be oppressive in hot weather. There is no air-conditioning, so on warm nights you have to have the window open and that means allowing in a lot of noise from the main road below. To drown the noise and to circulate the air, we requested a fan which was immediately provided. Due to the limited space in the room, the bathroom had rather an unusual arrangement whereby the toilet was positioned in front of the basin. Never seen that before!

The hotel has a very modern, clean feel to it and it smells lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was in excellent condition, very clean and welcoming. The bathroom facilities were great with a clean and powerful shower. We hadn't planned to have breakfast there but are glad we did, it was great, don't miss out. As for the location, it was just a short walk to the centre or river.

I like my coffee so maybe a decent coffee machine in the room. I didn't notice if there was a tv down in the bar/lounge area so maybe that could be a thing.
