Great location, safe car park adjacent hotel, breakfast excellent, nothing not to like except read below.

The price does not include parking that is an additional £6.50 and Booking.com should advise you of the additional charge, the car parking is free if you book the Hotel direct, but not if you go through any third party booking agency.

The reception was very welcoming and helpful especially David who went out of his way to help us a few times . The Hotel is in a great location to visit all the attractions of the city and 5 mins from the bus station which was great for getting around

A little bit noisy being at the side of a very busy road and people banging doors above and to the side of us , cleaner of our room missed a couple of things that should have been done. in my mind

The room was huge witha sofa so I could sit and relax in the room .Breakfast was good but limited for choice as it was the same items for breakfast each morning.There were no options to order other items .Not sure if this is because of the pandemic or if it has always been this way .Evening meal was lovely and the waiters are very helpful .Very quiet and views of the canal T

The hotel is on 2 sites joined by a walkway over the canal .I got a tad confused as to where my room was .The wifi was weak and I struggled to upload photos on my laptop .At First I thought it was because the Internet was busy but it seemed to be all day and I felt that a hotel as big as this should have better internet coverage .

The location and the size of the room. I also liked the room had tea and coffee making facilities.

The only thing I was a little disappointed about was in the spa where the pool was, there was no relaxing beds to lay on, only a few chairs. i wanted to have a swim use the facilities and relax whilst waiting for my treatment upstairs but didn’t feel I could do this sitting on a chair. It then got busy and there were no chairs to sit on. I am not sure I would pay for a spa day again, but just pay to have only a treatment.

Great location - nice and clean, friendly staff. Food was good and enjoyed Spa.

Not Having hand soap in room so had to to use shower gel to wash hands -unscrewing top not the most hygienic. Would have preferred push button dispenser on wall or bar of soap.

We liked the location of the property. A short walk to the town centre with plenty of shops and pubs. Loved the fact that we could use the gym and pool facilities for free. The staff were really helpful, on our last morning one of our party was unwell and couldn’t come down to breakfast and a staff member offered to arrange a tray of food to take back to the room, in the end we just took some toast but the gesture was greatly appreciated.

The wifi was a bit frustrating because we had to log back into it everyday. The furniture in the room was a bit dated (lots of dark brown wooden furniture). I didn’t realise there was a £9 a day charge for parking, this was my error when booking but it was a keypad entrance car park. None of this would stop me from booking to stay at The Mill again.

Room was lovely with a comfortable bed, got a good sleep in. Nice view of the canal. Nice pool and sauna/steam room, got a good swim in. Friendly staff. Not too far away from Chester centre. Also enjoyed the layout of the hotel corridors, quite higgledy piggledy, we got lost a few times while trying to find our room. This is not a complaint as we found it quite funny and added a bit of a thrill.

Paying for parking was annoying and not complimentary if you are a guest. WiFi was quite slow in the rooms as well. Breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about but did the job.

The food at the hotel was lovely. We had a superb 3 course Sunday dinner the first evening. We had something off the daily menu the following night which was tasty and fresh . We had some Asian tapas on the 3rd night with a few glasses of vino. Which again were tasty and fresh. The buffet breakfast was well organised with items always available but not left to go dry. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the added bonus of having the option to have a quick swim before breakfast was brilliant. A thoroughly enjoyable stay

Food was brilliant but choices were a little limited on the daily menu for those enjoying longer stays. Sad that there were no appointments for spa treatments during our stay due to training

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the breakfasts, the hot shower, the comfortable bed, the hotel bar and the Spa area. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and using the Jacuzzi. Also the cleaning staff were great and kept us constantly topped up with tea, coffee and biscuits in our room. The location of the hotel was also really good. We could walk into the city centre within five minutes. We had a problem with our hire car on the morning we were leaving. The fan was broken so it was very difficult to de-ice it the windscreen. A very helpful gentleman from reception came out at 4.45am to help us! We would like to thank him. Without his giving us some tea towels to wipe the windscreen I don't know what we would have done. So a big thank you to him and we got home safely to Turkey! We will definitely come back again in the future to stay at the The Mill.

Really nice hotel with good location and a reasonable price . Good breakfast , bar and pool !! Overall a good stay

I’m sure most the year it won’t matter but lack of air condition in room when weather is warm made stay not as pleasant as it could have been. Also whoever designed the toilet in a family room clearly never tried to use it as it was a challenge to say the least as do so small
