Fantastic location right in the centre of Chester. Although this is a busy pub (very handy for night caps or a refreshing drink after a day sight seeing), we had access through a side door to all the accommodation so no need to go through the bar if you didn’t want to. We also heard no noise from the bar while in our room. The room was spacious as was the bathroom with a good shower and the complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee/biscuits were well received! Staff were very attentive and friendly 😊

The bed had a mattress topper which made you feel like you were going to fall out of bed but we soon adjusted. Although there was no noise from the bar, we could hear the voices of other guests in their room but discovered complimentary ear plugs!

Ideal location with all the pubs and restaurants nearby. Overnight parking for £13.50 is located just behind the place. Really friendly staff and the bed was very comfy and really nicely decorated. We ate dinner too and it was lovely, a bit expensive but it was nice.

There was only 1 vegetarian food option for dinner, although it was lovely just a bit surprising that there was only 1 option for me. The shower in the room lacked power, and the shower head was very dirty and full of rust and limescale, so that needs replacing. But overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would stay again.

Very central location, staff very friendly which made you feel right at home. Everything in the room you would require, fridge, safe, tea/coffee, mirrors, hairdryer, tele, free WiFi, and plenty of charging points. The shower was adequate, and loads of hot water and soft towels. Highly recommend the breakfast, quality produce and cooked perfectly. Bar well stocked and open to guests after closing. Parking 6 minutes away at Delamere Street, walking distance. We stayed 2 nights and can honestly say would stay again, this is a good value for money place

Bed was too soft for me, but that's personnel preference.

Lovely hotel and public house with restaurant. Centrally located, with a 20 minute walk from the train station, that is well represented by numerous pubs on the way to our hotel, that was certainly needed on the way due to the very warm weather! Our room was up two flights of stairs, and upon entering was very clean, tidy, modern and well kept. Great base to explore Chester, relaxing atmosphere and ambiance throughout. Even though very central, had no issues with street noise whatsoever. Lovely, pleasant staff, and as I lost my wallet in or around the pub itself, upon enquiring with staff if it had been found or handed in, I was delighted to find a member of staff had indeed found it and I was reunited with it!! A huge relief and headache avoided, and it great to know people with honesty and integrity still exist. Highly reccomended and will be returning in the future for sure. Thank you for your great service.

Fantastic location, really good breakfast, above average friendly staff, great tip from the Hotel about which car park to use, definitely saves you money,we will definitely be back, the guy who took our orders at breakfast had the best statement shirts ,and great personality, next time will book earlier to get one of the larger rooms at the front..

Room 8 , hot and noisy, the fridge didn’t help,as that was noisy , there was a fan to use, but it blew a a Gail with no control and very loud, noise from possible the kitchen extraction fan also, but it was a exceptionally hot weather, and the Hotel was full so no point in making a fuss.

On arrival, and throughout our afternoon / night here we were really taken back by the staff. All were very friendly, welcoming and simply great at their job. The customer service was above and beyond! The bar manager who was on shift late afternoon early evening knows his stuff and was excellent! We booked a room last minute due to train strikes and what we got for our money was way more than what we would have been offered at other chain hotels nearby for the same price. It was a very spacious room, very comfy and above all very clean. We had a lovely night!

While hard to fault anything, we did experience the noise of a few loud locals outside the front of the hotel around 3am - not the hotel's fault at all, purely down to the central location. The room was a bit on the warm side despite an opening window, and the fan provided was rather loud so we felt conscious of having it on during the night. However, I mist really say that neither of these would stop us from booking a further stay in the future!

Location is excellent, as the hotel is right in the centre of Chester and there are a couple of car parking options nearby. We parked at Delamere Street Car Park which cost us £9.50 for 24 hours which we thought was good value. The room we booked was quite big and there was plenty of space although we only stayed the one night. The room was very clean. There was tea and coffee in the room although you have to ask at the bar for your milk. Bar is quite big and of course it is in the centre of Chester is used by the general public and not just hotel guests. Service was very good at the bar, even when busy.

It is an old building so a little tired but was clean as indicated above. Our shower cubicle was quite small.

The Coach house Were more than accommodating for us as a family, From the size of the room right through to breakfast, (we didn't take the breakfast only because we had dinner booked for 12pm) the kids did and mine are fussy eaters! They really loved it! Nothing was too much trouble at all ! We had a BRILLIANT one night stay as a family of 4! We love Chester therefore this will now be our go to hotel due to the price and all the staff. Thank you from the Roberts's :)

Nothing to dislike at all in our opinion! don't hesitate to book this hotel! you wont be disappointed if your looking for a nice/ convenient stay with decent breakfast

Friendly staff, fantastic location, very clean and comfortable room. I had a great nights sleep. Food was fantastic. Interesting Christmas party in the bar with elves and a snow machine...in September. 🤣 it looked great!

Was woken at 5am when street cleaners were emptying bottles, which is not the fault of the Coach House, but should be expected in such a central location. I could hear the guests in the next room clearly. There is no soundproofing.

Good location, good size room and comfortable bed. The food was very good, particularly their homemade pies. Prices were reasonable and the food choice was good.

The full English breakfast was just the right size and cooked to order. Only disappointment was if you preferred a continental breakfast instead. If you did prefer a continental instead, which was available, it was still priced as a cooked breakfast. Not being fussy but for those that like marmite that would have been a nice alternative to jams and marmalade. However, the breakfast was of the same quality as the evening meals, good ingredients, make the difference.
