This was our third stay at the Moxy. and certainly won’t be our last. It is convenient to the centre with all its amenities. It is situated by the canal which also provides a lovely walk. The place is always clean and the staff exceptional . The cleaning staff were thorough, and the room was always well presented and lovely and clean. We’d like to mention Keith in particular who was so helpful - please thank him personally on our behalf. Parking Is easy via the app and a reasonable price. We can highly recommend this hotel and have done so to many of our friends and our family.

Everything was ‘spot-on’ - no problems.

Second visit this year , the hotel is excellent, 10 mins walk into the city , clean rooms and a great breakfast, But I would like to say the staff make it , they are very friendly and always helpful.

Now this is my only gripe is the parking, On our last visit you tapped your reg number into an iPad and paid when you checked out ,GREAT, Now you have to download a parking app on you mobile, set up an account, which took ages to do, then you pay for your stay, but you can only book 24 hours at a time , so every day your back on the app to book another day , and so on , It’s a real pain , also having navigated this app myself, I’m not sure how people of a certain age will manage, This could put people off from booking the hotel

Staff were lovely, very friendly and chatty. We saw a variety of staff members being so helpful to an an elderly customer, making sure she was ok, this was wonderful to see. The room and breakfast were very good value for money. We will definitely stay again if we come back to Chester.

Car park was closed due to work being carried out on the roof. An email about this would have been helpful, especially as we had booked parking with Moxy’s suggested company. The hotel staff were very understanding and helpful about our parking situation, especially as we hadn’t realised our Moxy car park booking was 17 minutes walk from the hotel! The hotel has a notice explaining the parking situation at reception, this isn’t ideal if you are a visitor to the area and have been advised to book parking before you arrive! Again I can’t stress how accommodating the staff were, but a little email to us would have prevented double parking fees.

Large open spaced downstairs area modern clean and inviting. Compact clean comfortable bedroom with nice toiletries. Staff extremely hard working, knowledgeable about local area , definitely a credit to the hotel . Reception area had nice seating areas with ambient candles and well stocked reasonably priced bar .

Breakfast was a free for all with only 2 extremely hard working staff spinning plates trying to work the reception, bar, filling plates /cutlery, topping up food, filling coffee machines ,sorting toasters topping everything up and cleaning tables as well as dealing with residents. We had no where to sit so had to eat at the bar and waited so long for cutlery with food going cold we used spoons for our sausages and bacon ! It felt like student residence sharing glasses as all in dishwasher and lack of utensils etc not something we expected on a relaxed stay definitely disappointing !

All interactions with the staff was great. The 2 people on the check in desk were so helpful and accommodating. Even when I had issues with the car park they were more than happy to help. Really enjoyed that there was some small games in the bar area for myself and daughter to play with whilst waiting for food after a long drive.

Car park was so small, and also created some frustration for myself that I could not get a space after travelling along way with a small child and we just wanted to get out the car. The staff were amazing at helping with this tho. The food we ordered was adequate, all very fried foods nothing fresh to order on the menu. Although the cook brought out the food and he was also very friendly.

Breakfast was ok, liked it was buffet, I could just help yourself. Good proximity to city centre, about 15 minute walk. Nice staff. Room design was good and very quiet.

Bathroom very small. Car park closed and this information was only given once we had booked the room. If I had known, I probably wouldn’t have booked hotel. Not good if anyone in party is disabled as it’s a good 15-20 minute walk to nearest car park, up steps, along canal bank, so very bad if anyone not able to physically cope with that. Information needs to be available before people duped into booking hotel first.

A 10 min walk from the middle of Chester, but still very quiet beside the canal. A lovely view from the rooms. There are a couple of good pubs/restaurants a 3 minute walk if you do not feel like walking the 9 minutes to town.

The carpark outside the hotel is small, so one may need to park a 5 minute walk away. Not a hassle, but something to be aware of. Also there is nothing/no one stopping ICE cars from parking beside the EV chargers. Quite frustating to find the charging spots blocked by Diesel cars !! Oh, if you are 2m tall you might find the showers a bit narrow !

I love staying at this hotel it is 5-10 minute walk into the main town/city where there is honestly loads to do you’ve got shopping , bars and restaurants, attractions What isn’t there to love The breakfast could be improved hugely Rooms are perfectly spacious I love the fact you have a large sink area and a large walk in shower definitely easier for moving around to shower off your body rather then cupping water Beds are super comfy pillows are like fluffy clouds I wish I could sleep in them all the time

As someone with 2 severe food allergies I felt I couldn’t enjoy the breakfast as others can , there is no ingredient labels available on anything and there’s no notice about allergies and who you can ask I’d hate to be anaphylactic and eat something, you don’t know who’s touched what and how long things have been left out Is the bread fresh each day as I had a very stale bagel , eggs are clearly made from a powder packet and again very limited choices I think hot food should be a order to place and not laid out , pastries could be fresher and again of better sizing

cool quirky hotel, fab staff and brilliant location, only a short, pleasant walk down the canal side into the town centre, with a few bars and restaurants along the way

bed was billed as a large bed but was just a normal double, only one pillow each on the bed and wasn’t the comfiest mattress but not that bad that it would put us off stopping again. Parking is limited and payable, we were lucky to grab a parking spot but not sure where you would park if the car park was full.

The atmosphere when we walked in was super organised and calm but very chilled and relaxed. Even at nearly midnight the staff were friendly and helped us check in quickly. It was a huge relief after a long journey. Very comfy bed and the room was really well laid out to make best use of the space. I've seen much more expensive hotels with less thoughtful layouts. The breakfast was really tasty and I've never had better coffee out of an automatic machine. The location is great too, very handy for both town center and station. Would definitely rebook.

There wasn't a clothes drawer which is a shame, not everything is suited to the peg board/wardrobe rail solution. If there was one it was too well hidden to see!
