We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Christchurch and the staff as always were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, although there was some confusion around what was included in the booking price.

If you’re from the Harbour Hotels group and reading this, then I’m sure the following comments will be familiar. When we booked up on Booking.com it stated that breakfast was included. I naturally assumed that this meant a cooked breakfast. On arrival we were told that our booking included a Continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast would be £6 per person per day extra! It was explained to us that this was an error on the Booking.com web site but they would waive the extra charge. Please address this discrepancy in the Booking.com listing as it’s very misleading.

A warm welcome at check-in. Our room was spacious with natural light and ample storage space. Lovely comfortable beds and pillows and a good selection of tea/coffee etc. There was a good selection at the Continental breakfast, lovely staff.

The bathroom was large, however, the shower area could be an issue. Due to the high sided bath, there was no grip handle . In the place where this should are the toiletries (which were lovely). So, while standing in shower, if a person is stood next to the toiletries, the shower screen would not prevent water going onto the floor. By standing closer, the toiletries are out of reach so need to step back or twist which could be a problem of slipping. No parking spaces were available on arrival due to a function.

A very atractive hotel and dining area. Comfortable room. Lovely view of church, cricket pitch and castle ruins.

Minor point: The strange, rather inapropriate use of pop music in the dining room. Just seemed to destroy the atmos. Volume made it slightly distracting. Maybe you've researched this and this is what people want. But i doubt it. Classical music played very low would be more fitting. Music is important and if you get it wrong in my experience it's best not to have it at all. (I love pop music btw, but it has it's place and some of the selection was just crass or comical).

The hotel is in a great location for everywhere in Christchurch, and you can park the car, and not use it again, until you go home. There is a bus stop outside, if you want to explore the area. We like to walk a lot, and from the hotel, you can walk to Mudeford in about 30 minutes. We also walk to Bournemouth from there too, but is a long walk. The rooms are furnished to a good standard, and the bed and pillows are so comfortable, it makes getting up to explore the area, just that little bit harder!!

I love this hotel, but if I had to be picky, I would have to say that the rooms on the top floor, really could do with some air conditioning, as they can be very warm at night

We had a bonus upgrade to a lovely room looking out over the green and old castle ruins, the room was bright, clean with super king size bed. Check-in had been friendly and painless. the continental breakfast was great, a good selection with top quality ingredients and came with the by now expected very friendly service. dinner wae similar helpful staff, excellently cooked food from a not large but well thought out menu. I chose this at short notice from Booking.com not knowing what to expect but from the moment I walked in I knew I'd got a winner. Loved it.

Perhaps the background music in the restaurant was a bit loud .

Lovely large room with air conditioning. Comfy large bed & huge bathroom. Nice colourful lounge with lots of seating. We especially liked the park & enjoyed the lovely surroundings.

The lovely grounds, which were across a busy road ! was a surprise, but we enjoyed the leisurely walk along riverside after dinner. I thought the breakfast was a bit disappointing, altho it was adequate. We found large deep bath a bit difficult to access as we are seniors, also no safety bath supplied. Also found very small lift a bit off putting & claustrophobic & used stairs.

Location and size of room

Rather rude gentleman who ignored us at reception and did not acknowledge we were waiting. The same gentleman asked if tea or coffee was required for breakfast but did not ask us both individually, he left our table without bothering to hear my reply. The Second morning at breakfast when he was not there it was much more pleasant with a young female waitress serving who was pleasant, polite and helpful. She asked us both in turn which drinks we would individually like. Bravo !!!!

Service was welcoming and accomodating since I hadn't planned where I would stay the night and was able to check in quite late. There gentleman gave first class professional service and even said it was his first day, I would not have known as he acted like a professional. My breakfast the next day was divine, do be careful to book before hand staff was still accomodating and food was perfectly done.

It's an older building, that needs a lot of maintenance, but you can adjust to the quirks in the winter for sure, especially for the comfort and quality of service. I was comfortable overall and can't see them letting that be any other way for asking.

Location central Hotel decor fabulous Room lovely- spacious room with lots of seating. Huge bed which was really comfortable. Sunday roast exceptional

Breakfast there was some confusion as booking stayed included in price but actually only Continental and this is not clear on site or explained by staff on check in. That being said the Manager was really quick to resolve so cannot fault customer service. Just needs to be communicated better.

Lovely hotel with warm atmosphere. Great location and good parking opposite. Very comfortable spacious room . Comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom . Appreciated the water , biscuits provided and mini fridge . Great breakfast . Friendly staff

Only two things . There were items left on the floor next to our room which should have been cleared . A sheet and some electrical items . Still there the next day - looked sloppy . A phone on the room would have been good
