the location is lovely with a nice park out the front if you like a walk ! shops and that are also in walking distance and a supermarket to get bits for the room

the breakfast wasn’t great in my opinion (buffet style) bacon was very fatty , sausages weren’t all that , fried slice was solid , but the eggs was decent and they do have a good a selection of breads and cereals ect…. but after a night out we all want a fry up in us ! I didn’t go back on the second morning but the room was good value for money ! there was other people in my party who also had there own room and they also didn’t wanna eat there and we chose to pick up a Burger King instead

Bells Hotel has become my default 'go to' when visiting good friends in Coleford. Staff always super helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally located 10min walk from the town centre. Very peaceful setting - even if it is on a golf course! Lol Love The Bells breakfast.

Bells has been established in the town for decades. Some areas in the rooms could benefit from a refresh. Although the weather had cooled this BH weekend (typical) it was stifling August last year - a lack of air conditioning in the room was regrettable, but guess this is not cost effective to retro-fit.

I liked how green the setting was everywhere. Lovely views all around. The reception and clubhouse staff were delightful. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedding and towels were super soft and clean and fresh. The beds were so comfortable, we slept really well. The menu was good with lots of choice.

The decor felt more appropriate for a maturer clientele but it costs a lot to refurb hotels and nothing was sad or tired. The laundry chap was so loud with his cages. I know it has to be done but wow, the clattering and banging was a lot! We started laughing after it had gone on for more than ten minutes. It just got so comical listening to him getting it all on and the lorry under our window.

Absolutely lovely location and great room. Defo value for money as we were in the Premier Suite Parking was easy. Checking in was fine and the staff were friendly. The room was bright and very clean and tidy. Breakfast was over in the club house and a good selection of cooked on offer, not the widest selection of continental though. But all very tasty.

Nothing really not to like - we had a lovely stay. However, just a few minor aspects... There wasn't a great selection of fruit or continental pastries available at breakfast. Other than that, the stay was very pleasant

Absolutely lovely stay. I stayed in the captain suite which had a small balcony and a mini fridge. Staff were nice & friendly. The food in tge restaurant was really nice (i had the surf & turf) the apple crumble was amazing (I took it to my room). There's a basketball court and skate park right across the road which was nice as I had my roller skates in the boot of my car so managed to get an hour skating in. I visited puzzlewood which was an 8 min drive away.

The walls aren't sound proof and I could hear the next room every time they went toilet and when they went in the shower at 6am

Friendly greeting on arrival. Room was very accessible and I was travelling with a dog so this was appreciated. The room was spacious, and I had booked a twin and its layout with a double and single was really great.

The hotel is dog friendly, but you can't take your dog to breakfast unless someone holds it for you while you get the breakfast from the buffet. Not a huge issues as you can leave the dog in the room, but as some people might not feel comfortable doing that. There was some dripping guttering outside the bedroom window.

Spacious room, comfy bed, good breakfast selection for a hot buffet. Food is served in the golf clubhouse , menus are standard golfers food but there were options for fresh cooked non carb heavy food. They also provided excelent options for my wifes GF needs. Nice location by a golf course.proper opening window.

Noise, it's not the best sound proofed building we have stayed in. We could hear people walking in the corridor ( noisy floor) and also people talking in nearby rooms. All late as golf groups come in after their nights out.

The evening meal was good.. we had a table for 5 and we were all happy with the food and service. However the breakfast was disappointing. The poached eggs on the ‘poached eggs on toast’ that my wife had and also the poached eggs with the large full English breakfast that I had were very hard.

In addition to the poached eggs referred to above, the floor boards in the room and also in the main corridors in the hotel creaked a lot.

I booked two premium rooms as they were the only ones available and seemed very reasonably priced. What an understatement: The Captains Suite was luxurious with a balcony overlooking the beautiful golf course. Bluewater junior suite equally plush and being ground floor great for less able husband! Dinner in the clubhouse was freshly cooked and delicious. We had drinks in the sunshine watching the bowls.

Everything was excellent.

The bed was very comfy and massive as it was two singles together, it was a lovely room and very cosy and spacious. The staff were absolutely amazing too, very helpful and kind. Lovely location, wish we’d got to explore the town more but there was a downpour 😂

One of the lights in our room didn’t work and the bath tap dripped continuously which was annoying. There was no pool, which was a shame.
