The place was an absolute charm & character, exactly what I was expecting. It's very quiet, cosy and comfortable to sleep in. It felt like a travel back in time in only the most positive ways. The decoration and the furniture were so vintage and a memory of a bygone era. And the best part was, that everything was so clean and spotless. Kay was an amazing host, she was so polite and inviting, happy to show us around and explain about the property. In the morning, she made us all three a rich & delicious breakfast with some tea and coffee. Thanks for the experience, Kay!
It'd be very hard for me to find and list something I didn't like about it.

This is the perfect combination of history and comfort — the house is beautiful and the garden is picturesque, and the suite of rooms where you stay is beautifully set up and decorated to be both modern and comfortable but still in keeping with the old feel of the home. The owner Kay and her partner Ian were so kind and welcoming, they went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. It’s an excellent location for everything in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, and so close to Wales and Gloucester. Really this place is not to be missed!
No notes, everything was perfect! I only wish I knew how to keep my own house as lovely (and spider-free!) as this one.

When I booked our two night stay, it was mainly on the basis of convenience - I was just looking for a decent place that could accommodate our party of two couples and a young child, close to the venue of the family wedding that we were attending. In the event, The Old Vicarage turned out to be an absolute gem - welcoming, very comfortable and wonderfully characterful. Our stay there enhanced our enjoyment of an already very special weekend.

We brought an American friend here during a weekend walking in the Wye valley. The vicarage is a striking and characterful house in a perfect location for visiting the Wye Valley. The suite was comfortable (particularly the beds), breakfast was great and Kay is a friendly and helpful host. There’s a pub with food 5mins walk away so we didn’t have to use the car in the evening (although we gather there is a pub with ‘superior’ food a short drive away).
It’s a vicarage so it’s next to the church and some might be bothered by the hourly bells (I didn’t notice them).

Beautiful building with an unbelievably warm welcome. Made to feel very special because of the outstanding service - from a roaring fire for us to enjoy to an excellent breakfast. Beds were very comfortable and we had more than enough space for way more than the 2 of us. Thank you so much for welcoming us and making our stay so fun and special.

This lovely home is spotless, comfortable and conveniently located within east reach of many of the Forest of Dean highlights. Kay and Ian are extremely friendly and welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We felt completely at home as soon as we stepped over the threshold! We found The Old Vicarage very reasonably priced, particularly as it included a delicious cooked breakfast. Highly recommended!

My wife and I really loved this B&B. It was a very beautiful place. My wife especially liked the decorations and surroundings. Our host, Kay, was great and accommodated all of our needs. She also had good recommendations for dining and sites to see. Breakfast each morning was prepared exactly how we liked it. My wife and I were very happy we stayed here.
We cannot think of anything we didn't like while staying here.

Breakfast was super. Location for walking in the forest or accessing other areas excellent. the Grad2 listed property was full and of character and charm, our hostess could not be more helpful and looked after us brilliantly.
Nothing - it suited us perfectly and we loved it.

Kay was so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were lovely and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious and perfectly prepared. Everything went smoothly with our stay and the Vicarage is the perfect place to relax and use as a base.
I couldn’t find fault with anything, it really was spot on!

The warm welcome, the amount of accommodation on offer for a B&B. The full English was cooked to perfection fit for a King, nothing was too much trouble. Great powerful shower and a deep bath. Loved the tea/coffee in the accommodation and the log burning lounge to relax in - the butterfly room. Hospitality was a 5 star service by Kay . Located on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, with many things to see and do within a short distant. Breath taking views close by.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like if we had to say anything at a push, it would the Gold room deco wasn’t to our personal taste, a little too dark with the floors and furniture , preferred the light deco of the purple room . Beds were all comfy .
