The hotel inside was WAY better than the dated concrete exterior. The room was spacious and had somewhere to sit to watch TV. The en-suite bathroom seemed to have a proper solid wall to minimise noise disturbance. The hot buffet breakfast had a lot of choice. The location was convenient for my elderly Mum as we were near the centre of the attractions.

Buffet breakfast items were not all overly warm - as is often the case. The communication emails were off-putting, immediately a list of negative rules and threats, e.g., no passport then you could be turned away; not one word of welcome or thankyou for making the booking with them.

Good location, the room was very generously sized, smelled fine and felt quite up to date. The staff were lovely. There was iron, ironing board and fan in the room, desk, table and chairs but still ample room. There is a security guard in the evening as well as having a double door system to prevent non-residents from entering. Nice also to have a bath whereas many budget hotels opt for shower only.

There was a group of people loitering outside which was unnerving. The room itself was in okay condition except the carpets which need a thorough clean (or replacement) and the security chain on the room door needed something to attach it so it didn’t feel as safe as it could be and could be rectified at relatively little cost.

The room was quiet, big and had a bath. The staff were great. Didn't have breaksfast.

The heating didn't work in room 511 but there was a lovely big fleece blanket so I was ok, The radiator's control dripped, but I didn't want to move rooms so I put the bathroom bin under it at an angle so the drips slid down quietly, and I emptied it regularly as I was in all evening. But the sound of the dripping would have kept me awake. I reported it to maintenance as I left. Still gave a good rating as I'm sure the staff would have changed my room if I had asked.

I liked the fact that I was able to stay in my room number of choice, of which I stayed in, on a previous stay. I have a health condition, and found this room to be very suitable. I did pre request this room number, and fortunately it was available, over the Easter weekend. I have done the same for a future stay in November, so hopefully this room will be available to me then too!

A member of staff knocked my door at 08.45am to clean the room. I was woken up, and explained that to the room maid, as checkout is supposed to be 10am. Also, there is no WiFi in the rooms. I wasn't aware of this, until I went to Reception to ask for the password, a d was told that there was a fee to be charged, of £7.50 for 12 hours. It was 7.30pm in the evening, when I asked, so that would have meant that I would have been asleep for 9.5 hours out of the 12 hours, so that wasn't of any use to me. The Receptionist did say that I could sit in Reception and use the WIFI, but that wasn't of any use to me either.

The room was nice, it was clean. It had a kettle with enough tea bags to make myself a drink there and then plus one for the morning. If 2 people were in the room it will need more teabags.

The mattress was too soft for my back. More teabags needed. The receptionist handed me a form to sign with a man's name and address on, this is a concern as my details could have been passed to the next person. Even though i had already paid I was made to wait despite it being after 11pm and I was tired.

Stayed here after a works do. It's very close to the City Centre so an ideal location for me. The outside looks a bit tatty but the amenities were all perfectly ok, certainly for the cost of the room it was very good value. The room was quite large, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was also very quiet and i had a good nights sleep. I'd stay here again. I can't comment on the Bar or the Breakfast as i didn't experience either

Nothing springs to mind

It was basic but clean functional and in the centre of the city approx 100m from the parking.. For the price it was extremely good value and half price of similar hotels with similar facilities. The staff were exceptionally pleasant kind and helpful. It's our regular hotel when we're in the city and have stayed several times. Gordon+ winner xx

It's a minor gripe but its a little older and needs updating but it all works and its clean . The shower has a curtain instead of a screen, but that's it xx

I liked the reception and security staff. They ran a tight ship, but were really helpful and friendly throughout, which is what you want for your own safety and comfort during a stay. I thought the prices were extremely reasonable and booked an extra night on the back of this. The breakfast was very good. The room was lovely and warm without me having to fiddle about with dials and electrics...radiators on properly, job done. This place has a low rating, but in my experience at least, it should have a higher one.

Some of the facilities were dated and the luxuries lacking, but for the price, I would not object to this.

It was very very quiet and that was a great time to visit. When we were tired and we came into ask for an early check-in we were approved and we were very happy with that. The young lady that worked behind the reception in the morning was fantastic.

We were tarrogated when we were sitting in the lounge by the receptionist asking us what room were we staying in i wasn't very happy as we have checked in and we wanted to sit in the lounge quietly. And then we would disturbed again by two security guards asking us which room we were in when we were asked once before. I work in hotels as a manager and I would not resolve it this way I would ask very politely. I understand that it is hard work hospitality. But they should not make it hard work for the customers either.
