It was good, as I just moved to stock to start a new job, could not get a picture on television as single was down, but had my phone, so could do with that, only downside was the TV, but other then that I was more then happy, staff were more then welcoming and have no complaints, I can live, without TV, the bed was great, I would definitely stay again, the price was more then fair, I will come back next week, as am looking for a flat to go to with my new job, I'm on the street at the moment till I find suitable accommodation, so shall be using the north Stafford hotel again soon, just nice to have a hot Bath, and warn bed many thanks, Colin jay Bickmore

That I didn't have to sleep on the street

The bedrooms need to be updated Sink didn’t have hot water No Safety handles in the bathroom shower Breakfast was served between 7-9

I have stayed here at least once a month for the last 10 months and every weekend in May. It is perfect for my needs. It is quiet, clean and friendly. My son and I can use here as a base in Skoke and it has become a home from home.

Nothing was bad enough to mar my stay or stop me coming back. The building is old. This means it is beautiful. The railway architecture has to be some of the best in the country but this means upkeep is difficult. There is obviously no aircon but there is also no consistency with the provision of fans and heaters which I would expect in every room to compensate. I have twice had to buy my own. The building is also in need of some general tlc. It is a little run down which is a shame for such a wonderful piece of architectural heritage.

Although we only stayed one night it was brilliant in all aspects. The room was palatial in size with a king size+ double bed, spotlessly clean with super soft white linen covers etc. The bathroom was very large with black tiled flooring and 'over the bath' shower which worked perfectly. Plenty of soap, towels, tea & coffee an ironing board, iron and hairdryer and TV in the room and all the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful in all aspects. Ease of car parking was another big plus together with 24h reception staff. To be perfectly honest we couldn't fault it whatsoever. Lastly, have to comment on the amazingly high ceilings and wide corridors as sadly missed reflections from a bygone era in such buildings.

Realising it's a very large Victorian or Edwardian hotel in such a busy and ideal position for S-O-T it will be showing some signs of fraying and whatnot here and there but overall it's still an excellent hotel for 2022.

First room we had on 2nd floor at back of building not up to 3 star standard, hence bad ratings given above. Next day changed to another room on 1st floor at front of building which was of expected standard. The manager was very understanding when we explained what had been wrong when we left.

First room no bedside lights, grotty carpet, stained shower curtain, rusty radiator, small and pokey in size. Window wouldn’t open so hot and stuffy. Bathroom window frame had completely rotten wood Second room was of the standard we would expect in 3star hotel and had all we needed.

To be clear, this hotel scores high on convenience (opposite the station), external appearance (lovely building) and - especially - value for money. I paid £59.50 for B&B, (NB wifi would have been extra) and the breakfast was a full English buffet. By any standards that's value for money. In all those senses it provided exactly what I wanted for a one-night stay. And the staff were pleasant and helpful.

As with many similar hotels, the owners have invested more in the public spaces than in the bedrooms. Mine was just a bit tatty: the TV remote was tricky because the back had fallen off and you had to hold the batteries in to bring it to life; the windows needed a lick of paint, and it would have been nice to have been provided with shampoo for the shower. But - I repeat - I paid £59.50! I'm pretty relaxed about the state of the room, (which was perfectly clean), as I just wanted somewhere next to the station to rest my head for a night - and the North Stafford did the job. Ideal for me, but probably not for everyone

The location is very good for public transport. It is right opposite the train station - great for leaving luggage and to catch my early train the next morning. The room was spacious and felt less like a chain (even if it might be). My room was very quiet and the bed comfy. No complaints with what I got.

I feel the staff could have told me more about what services they offered. I was only stopping one night, but the gentlemen only wanted my money and to give me the key. He said nothing about the bars, things for sale, garden out the back etc etc

Location was excellent directly opposite the train station,we were allowed to leave out luggage There early before our official check in.We had a disabled cat with us and we're only charged an extra £10 which I thought was excellent price. We shall definitely use this hotel again it was good value for money the staff were welcoming and friendly. Loved the iron and ironing board in the room even though we didn't have to use it

There was nothing to be honest

spacious room and bathroom.

A floodlight outside main window of room meant it was never completely dark in the night. Also lights did not work in the morning. The kettle lead did not reach to plug socket unless kettle was on the floor. With regard to checking in for wedding at 2pm , I had messaged the day before to ask for earlier check in than 4pm but got no response. We arrived at hotel at 12.30 but could not access the room to change. To be fair we were given another room at 1.30pm which made it a rushed change to be ready for the wedding at 2pm start. If you have wedding guests staying then surely you have earlier book in as part of the price..? And your bar had no drinks on tap and very little choice in bottled beers or soft drinks. This was for the whole day and evening.
