All the staff were exceptional, friendly, professional where nothing was a problem attitude. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lunchtime + evening food was served freshly cooked and served within a very reasonable time. Breakfast was cooked fresh and to individual requirements via the in-house chef; the attitude was ‘what would you like’ which we appreciate as appetites vary and this, in turn, considerably reduces food waste.

No lower floor room(s) so could be an issue if you have severe mobility problems – that said the staff were more than helpful if you need luggage moved to and from the ground floor to a room on an easy staircase on the 1st floor. Leaving!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably my own fault but I assumed the continental breakfast would be a buffet where one could see all the options then choose. The yogurt with fruit compote and granola was lovely however, followed by marmalade on toast and a pot of tea served with a smile.

I had been warned when I booked the accommodation that a pub quiz is held on the first Friday of every month. It is obviously a great success as the place was packed and absolutely humming so no chance of a quiet drink in the bar.I would love to stay at The Pheasant sometime in the future but would make sure I didn’t book for the first Friday in the month.

Absolutely spotless, the staff were BRILLIANT and so so friendly, the food was incredible, the best vegetarian breakfast ive ever had ANYWHERE ,it was fantastic, the evening meal was properly home cooked in kitchens and piping hot, and Absolutely incredible taste, so makes little sauces and dressings over things, was a lovely experience to eat and sleep there. The Bed in room 3 was possibly the most comphy bed ive slept in, the duvet was so sqwishy and lovely and pillows were like billowing clouds, and i slept like a log. The bathroom in room 3 is immaculate and huuuuuuge shower try, you could fit a rugby team in there, and again hot water ,and high pressure, and a loo that flushed like a monsoon tornado, i doo love a good flushing loo. Lovely quiet room and no outside noise, even with the window open, the only sound were birds singing. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, everyone was genuinely lovely and i most definitely will be going back.

Going home, i wanted to stay, everyone was so lovely.

Excellent food and drink served all day. Very pleasant knowledgeable staff who were all ready to go "above and beyond" to make our stay a wonderful experience. Bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom including a walk in shower, handy to have a good sized fridge with fresh milk provided every day. Plenty of free parking by the Inn.

Our room was located on the top floor which was a bit of a challenge as I walk with a stick but we were offered an alternative smaller room on the floor below. The large shower needs a small rail to make it safer, especially if you are the second person using it! The step between the Bar and restaurant is quite steep and a handrail there would be very helpful as even more able bodied people seem to struggle with the step but it might spoil the lovely decorations in this area.

The breakfast was outstanding! There is a very talented chef in the kitchen. My husband said his full English breakfast was by far the best he has ever had; and my scrambled egg on toast (with hot smoked salmon flakes) was very tasty! Fresh tea and coffee served along with a selection of fruit juice if you wanted it.

The location is a little further from Grange over Sands than we thought, that was fine as we had a car with us and it was under a 5 minute journey to the promenade (around a 20 minute walk, with no pathway at some points, so if you had a buggy or small child it might not be suitable).

Very warm welcome. Informative on arrival. All the facilities in one hotel. Great atmosphere bar & restaurant. Dined twice, food was of high quality. Great range of beers. Breakfast included during our stay. Would certainly recommend to others. Cartmel & Bowness well worth visiting.

Possibly a few more wines on the list would complement the menu ( extensive) and increase spend per head. We were impressed with the menu. Staff were very friendly. More training for juniors, only fare.

All the staff were amazing! We had booked to go L'Enclume for dinner and was told that if we hadn't booked a taxi there could be a problem. All the staff tried every person they knew to get us there and back. Even offering to drive themselves. They did manage to get us there so we were lucky. Thank you staff. Lunch at the inn was delicious as was the wine and champagne, a little too much. The room far surpassed our expectation. The view was great the beds a treat to sleep on. The bathroom shower was 6 foot long! Both lunch and dinner times were well attended which says something about the quality of the food. Do not think I've been to a friendlier inn. The staff even knew the daughter of where we were dining on the Sunday. My son and I will return at some point 😊

Really super stay, everything was top notch! Super clean spacious room, very comfortable with a lovely walk in shower. Quality throughout. Fantastic breakfast, freshly cooked with locally sourced products… Could not find anything to fault. Friendly and helpful staff, Good bar prices and the evening meal was excellent. 👌

Seriously, nothing at all …. Without doubt will certainly return soon.

Everything! We were down for a meal at L’Enclume in nearby Cartmel. The Pheasant Inn was only 5 minutes away and was a short walk from the promenade and little town. The room was absolutely spotless and had air conditioning which was a godsend with the hot weather. Beautiful view of the fields from the window and our fridge was kept topped up with fresh milk and bottled water. The bed was comfy and the tv had Netflix to watch movies at night. Despite being above the pub, we heard no noise at night. We had dinner one night and a cooked breakfast (which was included) both mornings. All food was fantastic and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and welcoming!

The place was very clean location is very remote so it is really quiet at night. Room was spacious staff are very friendly. The food was very tasty and plenty of parking.

The wifi wasnt as strong on the top floor as it kept dropping in and out. Probably could do with a wifi booster for the higher rooms
