Good location with a beautiful view of the river, nice soundproof building with some stone touched walls in the rooms.

Even though it said no kids under 14 years allowed in the spa pool there were families with the kids (ages 4 - 10 years) shouting, splashing and jumping in the pool which made it impossible to relax. No action was taken by the staff. Therefore we tried going the next morning but there was another thing: Radio playing in the background with all the popular dance hits in the spa pool, It wasn't loud but, really? Considering where we were, ambient / relax / chill music or NO MUSIC at all would be so much better than radio hits at 8am. Very uncomfortable pillows. After 2 nights only we had sore neck and bad shoulders.

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Kids enjoyed the pool Room was really good size.

Family room was £195 for one night. Quite expensive for 1 nights stay! But understand it's probably on psr with others in the area. If it had been round the £150 price I probably would have booked 2 nights.

It’s a beautiful location tucked away in the Lake District, myself and my partner were blown away with the food at the riverside restaurant and were made to feel especially welcome by a waiter who I didn’t manage to catch their name. However I do know they haven’t been there long at all, but I can say they are a credit to the hotel. Fantastic customer service and very friendly. He manned the bar on a night.

The staff on the front desk when we first arrived were quite rude to be honest. A young lady and a tall man with glasses. Again I didn’t catch their names. But they didn’t help us find our room and were arguing in front of us which I thought was very unprofessional. Apart from that it was a beautiful stay.

Price for overall package (room, breakfast & facilities included) exceeded expectations and gave more value for money than alternative, affordable, accommodation in Cumbria. The dinner menu was varied and cooked amazingly, we dined in the restaurant for 3 nights and was not disappointed. The staff were also very welcoming and provided an excellent service. One particular positive for us was receiving an ice bucket for our room whenever we asked without hesitation.

Some more variety to the dining menu (we had started to become limited on options we hadn't tried by the fourth night), the wifi was unfortunately very weak and the mini bar had been drilled shut (assumed deactivated). We had bought drinks and brought some food back to have in the room but could not store it in any fridge.

Spotlessly clean room, comfortable and warm. Good facilities with bath, ensuite and TV. Tea making facilities. good value for money with breakfast included. Beautiful views. Nice big buildings. Staff v accommodating, would recommend despite the improvement points I mention

It's a large establishment and there weren't' always staff in the lounge bar. Shouldn't be a problem but the lounge was left most the morning with dirty crockery out, and noone to be seen who might clear the tables. Staff were v friendly but audibly disagreeing with each other. The breakfast buffet had a loud playlist including tutti frutti by little Richard then dead or alive by guns and roses. Couldn't tell if I was at a 50th birthday disco or a breakfast buffet

We had just done Helvellyn so were looking to stay somewhere nice with a pool/spa for the next day but didn’t cost an arm and a leg. It was one of the cheapest options and met our expectations. Nice room and comfy bed. Small breakfast but I filled up my plate with a very nice fry up. Steam room was good the next day, and jacuzzi by the pool was nice sat there for a few hours so was worth the stay.

Only think is it is a bit out of the way. We went for drinks in Windermere but because it was a 20-25 min drive back we couldn’t really stay out for long as had the car. Depends what you are after really

We had a family room it was nice We had breakfast included in the price the food was very good although waiting for eggs to be cooked to order meant we were already half way through our breakfast before they arrived The evening meal was delicious

So a couple of bits that let it down slightly No hairdryer in the room The shower was adequate but was not very powerful The mini fridge was screwed shut so no way of keeping our water chilled The service charge for the meal was added to the all ready expensive bill which I didn’t agree with if I want to tip I will I don’t expect the hotel to add a service charge

The location of the property is amazing. Right at the bottom of the Lake District. The river running alongside makes for a very tranquil setting. The spa facilities are available to use before you check in and after, which makes a nice change. Danielle, our server in the restaurant is brilliant and made our stay more enjoyable. The evening meal was beautiful and good value for money.

The rooms were a little dated and when I contacted the hotel to make the twin beds up as a double I was told that this wasn’t available to do even though when we checked into the room we were able to ouch the beds together ourselves.

when attending the onsite restaurant I ordered a quinoa salad from the menu and was served with an unidentifiable other grain salad. when i enquired about it the chef couldn't say what it was apart from some grains from a packet. so presumably the chef couldnt read either. I pointed out the if the chef doesn't know what he is cooking, how can he manage the risk of allergies from his clients. I don't suffer from allergies but by the same token I like to be served with what I ordered and the restaurant staff being honest. the waiter was nice though.

It was a really lovely place by the river. We did have the river view ,we loved it. We loved the swimming pool and jacuzzi it was nice after a long day out. Staff are friendly and helpful.

In the room, the stone wall needs a good dusting. The armchairs are stained as well as cushion covers. The bathroom vents and mirror light have dust on them. In general, the room I feel needs updating. The dinner menu was good except for kids one. We ordered pasta with tomatoe sauce insted we got pasta with ketchup. If there had been local sausage and mash, i think it would have been much better. I personally feel that pasta dish should be removed from the menu or made better. But over all we did enjoy the stay.
