The hosts have made this farm renovation a labor of love with exceptional choices in how to resolve the welcoming aspects of hospitality with a small working farmstead of chickens, goats and pigs- we did see Terry take the goats out to pasture. From the compact road entry in, you leave one world to another. It is a collection of separate buildings with holiday lets taking up two. The b+b shares the main structure with the hosts. The stone details and simple slate floors and details, the views to the surrounding local and far spaces are wonderful. Guests can have access to a small fireplace room snug, and the stone walled dining space offers a view to pastures. These are separate facilities from the owners. Only two rooms for guests, we had on in the gable end with the far farm views. Cooked breakfast was superior and included their own eggs and bacon. Kate and Terry could not have been kinder as my partner was suffering from a bad cold and offered honey and lemon. Close proximity to Porthleven, a compact beautiful port on the coast.

We had an absolutely delightful stay, such a beautifully peaceful location. Our Room was amazing as was the decor. The hosts Kate & Terry are such a lovely couple - welcoming, informative and extremely friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was also first rate and our wander around to meet the animals, especially the goats and pigs was a real pleasure. A shame for us that we had only booked 1 night; we have since booked more nights later in the year. I would highly recommend Higher Trenear Farm and Kate & Terry. Thank you you made our trip.

I have only good things to say about our stay at Higher Trenear Farm. Even before our stay, communication from the very friendly hosts was great. Directions and signage were detailed and spot-on. Upon arrival, Kate and Terry gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. The room and en suite felt like a little oasis of calm and everything was spotlessly clean. Thoughtful touches everywhere - you could tell the hosts put a lot of thought into details. Just lovely. Breakfast was wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. The location was a great base for where we wanted to explore. All this, and we also got spend time with the goats before we set off in the morning. My only regret is that I didn't book an additional night staying here.

Kate and Terry are lovely people that go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We arrived a bit late and Kate managed to get us a reservation in a nearby inn for dinner (which was very good, by the way, The Star Inn in Porkellis). We did not bring any rain clothes and on our one walk day it was pouring down. Kate let us borrow her own rain suit, which enabled us to keep to our plans. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked by Kate (pancakes, yum). Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

It was such fun to stay at Higher Trenear Farm! The chickens, ducks, goats and piggies were just a treat to meet! Kate and Terry are so intelligent to chat to and were very kind spending their time telling us all about their beautiful home which they have worked so hard to improve. I even got to feed the goats their treats after they had their tea! Breakfast was delicious and the accommodation was gorgeous. Thanks so much guys!!

Dear Kate and Terry, you made it to our short list of places where we'll definitely come back( told you we are lottle celebrities 😁). Your place is lovely, in the middle of nature and most important filled by your love and kindness. I would have THAT breakfast every single day. A safe area to park off road. A hot drink and chocolate brownie was offered on arrival. Advice given for an evening meal. A lovely comfortable bed for a restful sleep. A very modern bathroom. A great variety of choice for breakfast, both hot and cold options. An excellent suggestion for our walk the next day which was enjoyed very much. Kate and Terry made us very welcome in their home.

Relaxed, friendly hosts, clean and spacious room very comfortable beds. Special little touches like fresh flowers in room fluffy bath robes and providing fridge with fresh milk and chilled water. Quality breakfast including some of own their own produce from farm. Wish we could have staid longer, will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Kate and Terry were v friendly and helpfully gave us recommendations of where to eat in advance of our stay. On arrival, they were extremely welcoming and offered us a pot of tea and a slice of homemade cake in their wonderful garden. The room was spot-on, the shower was strong, and we both really enjoyed the breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Kate and Terry were lovely, great room, delux duvet and pillows!,and we fed the goats!

All great but surprised there was no tv in the bedroom. It’s great to go away and watch tv in bed to relax. We were lucky to have the shared lounge downstairs to ourselves so we could watch some tv and relax.
