The hotel is close to the M1 motorway and convenient for both Hemel Hempstead and St Albans so there are a lot of local shops, restaurants etc within a short drive. The hotel has extensive grounds which is perfect if staying with a pet. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the hotel has excellent dining facilities.Dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant but are accommodated in the bar area for breakfast and dinner times.

When we arrived there was a convention of 160 Real Estate Merchants which meant the car parks were completely full. Fortunately this ended at 5pm, but perhaps segregating guests parking from convention parking would be a good idea as this is an "events" venue.

Staff were amazing, hotel looks lovely for its age. Bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was fresh with alot of choice. Plenty of parking with cctv which was comforting.

Main downside was the bedding, lifted the sheet to get into bed to find some strange sticky stains. Called reception and they immediately came to change the sheet. The other downside were the lifts, very slow with loud beeping sounds.

Lovely hotel, helpful staff, and good breakfast and evening meal. Staff catering for Christmas parties still took the time to cater for guests in the hotel for evening meals. Slight mix up on times they would not be serving meals, but still slotted us in, much appreciated. Dogs were welcome in the bar area which meant they could stay with us for every meal. The only hotel I have ever stayed in that even has its own field to walk the dogs in, this was total surprise and very welcome. Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed it.

Location of room to external door to ensure the dogs would be able to get out in the morning was a concern. But in the end they were fine. Location to the motorway meant it was quite noisy even with the windows closed.

We were on a stopover on our way to an event in London the following day. The hotel is well located and signed. Staff were excellent at reception but there were 3 separate Xmas parties in fill flow when we arrived after 7pm. This left the staff busy and the place noisy. Parking was difficult but just possible, in view of the flow of cars. However, they found us a quiet room at some distance from the celebrations and it was in very god order. There was a quiet bar later, again clearly overused and untidy but with cheerful staff. We had a fairly quiet night of sleep and will certainly use the hotel again if in the area. Preferably not at a peak time.

The room I booked for two nights was no longer available was disappointed The hotel was very busy with children on a coach tour I feel that’s why my room was cancelled to give to a family! As I booked a suite After visiting here for some years I noticed a Change on this visit Very friendly reception staff a young lady very helpful and efficient bar area managed well and clean

If catering for coach trips need to remember the average joe! Breakfast again lacking! Had to ask for replenishment noticed new staff here also but made no difference to the service!

The male receptionist was a very polite man, very helpful and friendly, always ready to help with any question or query, seemed very happy in his work. Interacted well with other guests, who were very varied from teenagers to elderly, always smiled

The female receptionist always seemed unhappy in her work, seemed unapproachable. The hotel was quite shabby upstairs, stained carpets under the radiators in the hallways. Had to keep stopping the shower running as the tray started to overflow, informed maintenance who came up to look but by then the water had drained. I personally wouldn't stay again

Very good location for our needs. Breakfast 2nd morning much better, this time the plates were warmed and covered.

On our way to hotel had a phone call to say our twin room wasn't available, due to water leak, asked me to book another hotel. Not amused. They then said they had a double available. We had to take it. Not ideal as my wife suffers from restless legs syndrome. No USB charging points in room had to buy a wall plug version. First morning cooked breakfast, because the plates were stone cold, the meal was cold after 2 mouthfuls!

Location was nice from what I could see from our 1 night stay. The room was clean and well equipped. We did not have breakfast but from what I could see it looked good. Very quiet no external noise from roads etc.

Bed but I guess it a very personal thing. No bed is going to be as good as your own. The place is a bit of a maze but at no detriment to the hotel. You find your room eventually.

Hotel staff were really friendly and welcoming and we checked in really quickly. Room was comfortable and decorated nicely, but not much of a view (onto another block) and didn't really feel like an "Executive" room which we had paid extra for - our friends stayed in a standard double and really wasn't much difference. The breakfast was really good with lots of variety and choice, and the bar prices reasonable - staff really helpful in sorting us taxis out too. Nice area to sit out in at the front and back of the hotel too. Location wise only 5 mins taxi from town and to the train station.

Felt the Executive room was over priced in comparison to the standard double. Lift was also out of order, but other than that no complaints and I would stay again, but I'd book a double room instead and save the extra cost.

The Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, 24/7 available with a big smile on their faces. Cleanliness was great. The surroundings are green and beautiful, and the room is very spacious and comfortable; this includes the super comfy matrass and a delightful bathroom. The gym in the property, although little, is very well equipped, with very well entertained machines and accesories, I really enjoyed it.

Nothing are all. It was a perfect stay actually.
