Our rooms were spotless, and the staff very helpful in all areas. We also ate both evenings in the hotel, which we found good value and choice.

No on site parking is always a downer, but if there is no car park, there is no car park, and free all day parking is available about 4 minute walk away.

We stayed at the County as we were meeting family. The staff are so very helpful and friendly. The manageress is particularly helpful and efficient, and her young team very professional. Our room was beautiful with everything that we could need! Toilettries lovely. Lots of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits! Bottled water and ear plugs. We had lunch, dinner and then a sunday lunch with 11 of us. What a busy place! Coping efficiently, friendly and helpful to everyone! The Quality of the food is exceptional and reasonably priced. If staying in Hexham, I wouldnt eat anywhere else! Fantanstic! The manageress, Fiona I think? Is so good with her clients, nothing seems to phase her and every query was met with a smile. Once customer had reported a nose bleed in the bedroom, mopped up with white towel. She was not perturbed at all and just said "we have had a lot worse", many would have looked in horror.

The only one thing, which is totally out of the hotel's control is the noise on a Saturday night. The youngsters in cars racing around the town with noisy exhausts! Till the early hours of the morning. However, as shown above, the hotel kindly provided ear plugs. Apparently this is only on a saturday night.

The room was comfortable and large. The staff was very friendly, warm, and accommodating. The parking was a bit off-putting at first but don’t worry, it’s close by and simple to work out. Also, there’s so much to see that’s very close by! We didn’t plan out enough time.

The only thing we wish had been better was the outside seating space for the bar. There really isn’t any. I know the reputation for England is the weather is rarely good enough for it, but it was beautiful the entire two weeks we were in England. We did sit out on their bench and people-watched for a while, though. The bartender was really great about it and made it fun.

The staff were very accommodating, absolutely anything we asked for or needed was not a problem. We were given a lovely welcome and even though we checked in late and it was approaching 9pm we were assured that ordering dinner was still fine. We were in a large party all attending a family wedding and the day was made extra special because the staff went that extra mile to ensure everything we needed we got. When the taxi bus didn't have enough space for one of us to get to the wedding the hotel staff sorted another taxi, even saying if they couldn't get a taxi they would drive themselves!

We didn't like having to check out! I honestly cannot fault any aspect of our stay, its a superb hotel 👌.

The hotel and bar staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, warm and quite spacious. There was a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite facility was excellent.

Daytime parking outside the hotel is now restricted due to recent changes by the town council. It wasn't a problem for us but would be a consideration for anyone wanting to leave a car there for more than 2 hours.

Manager Fiona was exceptional and organised all transport that was causing me some stress due to parking on a very busy weekend of my sons wedding. She took it all out of my hand and organised everything which made me relax and enjoy the occasion. All my guests were given first class treatment in every single area of the hotel's hospitality. Food was outstanding from Breakfast to lunch and, evening meals. Could not recommend highly enough and I will be back for sure. My family traveled from Ireland, various places in ~England and the USA and they want to return to the County Hotel in the future. All staff are highly trained in fantastic hospitality and have amazing customer relations, this is obviously down to Fiona's eye for ensuring the staff are happy in their work and it shows in how they interact with the residents. If I could give this hotel a higher rating I would and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making our stay perfect, great memories of my sons wedding made better by Fiona and the staff at the County Hotel. Thank you.

Breakfast was excellent. Full English was amazing. I was also impressed that the hotel offered vegetarian and vegan version of this. They also had a variety of other breakfast options. The room was spacious and clean with a good utilities. The staff were very professional and polite. We enjoyed our stay.

The door entry was a little narrow to the bathroom. Due to the radiator and door stopper. This caused a slight problem due to using crutches but worked around it.

Mum and I stayed here for a night before a funeral. We shared the family room. The whole place is spotlessly clean and, whilst not so important, the room decor is individual, setting it apart from most hotel rooms. We ate in the bar and the meal was very good. The staff made it extra nice - they are all welcoming and friendly and respond so well to any request. Carrie

Nothing. I think you'd have to be a very picky person to find anything wrong here. You need to remember it's a pub with rooms at heart, so if you want more facilities look elsewhere. We felt very at home.

Staff were lovely and helpful. The pub is popular but there are a few different areas/rooms, there is a also a guest room which you can even use during the night if you can't sleep. We had scones and tea when we arrived instead of a drink which was nice. Room was clean and quiet enough even though it was above the front street. Earplugs are provided just in case which was a thoughtful touch. We would definitely go back.

The bed wasn't particularly comfortable as it was a bit firm. Everything else was fine.

The food was amazing, excellent quality and very good value for money. We had the 3 courses for £18 and every bite was delicious. Huge selection for breakfast as well, it was perfect. The staff are really friendly and approachable, room had everything you could possibly need, lovely and clean and bath robes provided.
