First its an older hotel, but very close to Gatwick, with a very early flight they start the breakfast at 4AM which was great since I was leaving at 6am. The room was fine, the bathroom modern with a great shower, really all my surprises were on the positive side. I would definitely recommend for a short term stay near Gatwick airport. The breakfast was great.

There was a bit of a problem with the coffee machine, its a modern Italian style unit, but at 5am was tough to get it working.

I was made welcome from the moment I in the hotel, Very clean hotel Excellent friendly staff, Young lad on reception was very good at job , They have a Indian restaurant in the hotel, The food was fabulous, beautiful flavours, and to top it all the young man brought the food plus plate and cutlery to my room , I’d recommend this place , great experience , thank you

There’s nothing bad about this place ,

comfortable bed, hot bath, room was big enough. We enjoyed the restaurant meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

no tv as remote was missing (had been previously stolen). Slight musty smell to room. Traffic noise. We enjoyed our evening meal at the restaurant but as we are vegetarian would have appreciated more veg. options ( ie. dahl )

Great location for late arrival from the airport, or early departure.

Nothing to do with any dislike of the hotel, but just beware - I paid £19 for a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport. It was late and I was tired. There is a bus I could have caught direct from the airport for £1, I found out about the next morning.

Close to airport, very clean, staff fab , if w e had known no lift, would have booked ground floor , staff fab with cases, but friend has difficulty with stairs x

Excellent location for Gatwick Airport. Very affordable. Shuttle bus was cheap and easy. Staff were lovely and very welcoming.

I have two small children, 7 and 10, and they were thrilled by the way the room was set up. Not a fantastic view but it was nice to have a window. It was their first time in England so everything was worth seeing! The staff was great and my daughter ended up really liking her lamb chops with the seasonings. A bit surprising because she is sometimes picky but they were delicious! My son had chicken nuggets and chips, and he was happy and so was I with my lamb dish. I think it deserves a higher rating than the 7 plus that they had posted. I think some reviewers think they need to reserve higher ratings for five star hotels and such. I would definitely give it a 9 and we often stay in four and five star hotels when we travel here in Vietnam. I would have loved to explore the area but we were only there for an overnight stay to catch a morning flight. The shuttle service was convenient and about 9 pounds cheaper than the taxi we took to the hotel.

For the price it was excellent.

Nice room with a satisfactory breakfast included. Very close to Gatwick airport, but we didn't hear the planes taking off and landing. they provide a for a fee airport shuttle. 6 Bells restaurant and pub is a 5min walk and a great choice for a nice Old English dinner

They had very good curtains in our room but they were difficult to close completely to eliminate all the outside light. There is a bit of road noise in the morning due to the intersection out front, but nothing serious. The shower design gets the floor and toilet wet. But that is quite minor.

It was a short bus ride from the airport, although the owners do have a shuttle bus you can order to take you there, from £10 per person. Although a public bus stop is only a short walk away near the Texaco petrol station, and is a couple of stops away from the airport and only cost a couple of quid. I sampled a meal at their Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurant, but they do have English selections too, which is what I opted for. It's a bright and airy space, plenty of room, between the other tables, and quite reasonable in price I thought as well. Although they do not sell alcoholic drinks, only soft drinks and hot drinks. There was an incident with my meal during my short stay, in which I asked for beans, and they gave me garden peas (yuck!) But they replaced them a little later once I brought it to their attention as requested . The rooms are clean and warm, as was the bedding and ensuite facilities. I was in room 25, a single room. It was small, But completely suitable for my needs, and the continental breakfast provided by them, was adequate for my needs prior to my early flight. (Breakfast starts from 0400 to 1100 I believe) There's not a lot I personally could complain about, as I only stopped for one night, and if I ever use Gatwick airport again, I would be happy to use Acorn Lodge again as well but next time I'll request a double room . The staff in both the reception area, and the restaurant were pleasant as well

Can't think of anything apart from the cleaners that work there, perhaps need to pay a bit more attention to hidden areas of the room such as behind drawers, and skirting boards as there was a fair bit of dust in those areas. (I only found that out when I dropped my phone behind some drawers) But, really ...other than that can't complain , I enjoyed my stay there.

it was only 5 minutes in an uber from Horley station! We arrived to a warm welcome! Our bags were taken to our rooms, which were perfect for our short visit. the beds were so so comfortable my daughter wants one!!! Downstairs is a restaurant with 15% off as we're staying there, it is an Indian restaurant with lots of English food aswell, my daughter had cod and chips which she enjoyed, I had a very rummy Korma with freshly made nann !! But the big bonus was that they have a shuttle service to the airport for only 10£, we had to leave at 5am, brilliant took the stress out of ordering a cab at that time in the morning!!!
