The reception area was lovely decorated

The room and bed were both quite small and with the bed being against the wall I had to either climb over my husband or get out at bottom of bed whn visiting the toilet through the night.

We loved the location...it was absolutely perfect for us as a young couple who like a little bit of a party but love nature, calm places and pretty views. We were able to get to the shops easily and the venue we chose for our Hogmanay celebration was about 4 doors down. Staff were friendly enough though we had minimal interaction. Breakfast was clean, plentiful and organised. The whole hotel was clean, it was quiet, even over New Year in the city centre. We have experienced the opposite in other places so it was certainly noticed!

We felt the shower in the room (319) was in need of a descale as a lot of the jets had no water flow and the bathroom needed some sort of extraction system as showers made the whole room wet. There were only 2 plug sockets in the whole room...neither of them next to the bed, which young people really do love now! It was very dark in the room, great for the sleeping part though my boyfriend had to hold a phone torch up so I could do my makeup.

Great room, fantastic location, good food. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the extraordinary kindness and professionalism of the staff. During our stay, we faced some unexpected difficulties, and the team went above and beyond to assist us by willingly offering practical solutions, checking in to ensure we were okay, and even extending small but meaningful gestures of care. Their genuine compassion turned what could have been a stressful situation into a manageable and even uplifting experience. In particular, we would like to thank both Caitlyn and Jo for their kindness and assistance. This culture of exceptional care among the staff was further evident when we returned to the hotel a few weeks later. We were greeted like old friends, with a warmth and familiarity that made us feel truly valued. The staff’s commitment to outstanding service was reaffirmed just last week when I received a parking notice from the private company managing the hotel’s car park. A quick call to the hotel was all it took – Jo, the receptionist, assured me the charge would be cancelled immediately. What stood out even more was the genuine warmth of our conversation; she took the time to ask about the challenges we had faced during our previous visit to the town and showed heartfelt concern for our well-being. This personal touch elevated the already impeccable service, leaving us even more impressed by the thoughtfulness and dedication of the team. I can 100% guarantee that I will be staying at the Hotel Mercure whenever I visit Inverness in the future. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this hotel is a true gem that guarantees not just cleanliness and comfort, but also the kind of thoughtful, heartfelt service that makes all the difference. Five stars all the way!

The location of this hotel is excellent and walking distance to the river walk. The buffet breakfast was very good (variety of food) and I was pleased that they switched our "noisy" room to a much quieter area of the hotel that had the view of the river and spacious. The host were very friendly, and accommodating to our needs. I had to use a mobility scooter to get around and the hotel stored the scooter and charged the battery. Both rooms were clean and smelled good. Both rooms were fully equipped with essentials like, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc. This hotel is only two blocks away from the train and bus station.

If you want to sleep ask for a room facing the river. The rooms that face the city are noisy from the people partying in the Pubs till 4:00am. It's not the hotel's fault, it's just too bad about the noise in the front of the hotel.

The room was great, excellent value for money, the bar staff were great, super helpful, friendly, as were the reception .. nobother bringing extra milk and coffee. Loved the details in the room, the painted wardrobe the complimentary items are lovely, the bath robes and slippers all good quality too. Huge bed! & amused by the ceiling addition! Lovely and warm.

Bulb missing from my bedside light. Poor lighting over the coffee area, the shower temperature was difficult to control & not very warm, & the conditioner was empty! Was a little noisier due to being near the exit doors.

Great location, right in the centre with a view over the river and an exit onto church street. The bed was large and comfortable.

There was a lot of noise from the coridoor. Our room was next to some double doors and they were banging all night. It wouldn't take much to put some foam or adjust the door so it is quiet when Closing. There were no power oulets either side of the bed? There was one on the far side of the room where the desk is The rooms are dimly lit The room felt dated and in need of some modernisation, but it was comfortable enough.

Good quality, fresh fruit (not from a pack or can), very friendly personel that do anything to answer your questions or to fulfill your wishes. The twinbeds were fine. A nice rainshower. The location is perfect for visiting the city center.

The drains in the shower were partly clogged (room 218) There is a fine mirror with lighting in it, I found a switch but I still could not light the lamp in the mirror. There is a ventilation opening in the top of the window. It cannot close and it is so an open connetion with the street and all its noises. Noise and music from café and people in the late evening and noise from cleaners, logistics etc. in the early morning. If a Noise-Reducing Acoustic Soundproof Vent is installed this problem will be solved. Not so expensive and better than distributing earplugs :-)
