Recently renovated the rooms are big and comfortable and the bed is really comfortable. If like me you like a firm mattress. Very modern inside and lots of parking. Jim is a character at the bar who is great to chat to about Scottish football!! Excellent breakfast. And it is vale for money.

Not really a criticism but it is out of town.also the kitchen is shut on a Tuesday and Wednesday night but the hotel is happy for you to order in food and they supply plates and cutlery.

we arrived early from wales, wasn’t expecting to be able to check in early as it was only about 10.45am. However the owners dad was at reception and said give them an hour and you’ll be in, and then said about going for coffee. He got in his car and told us to follow him to McDonald’s where we could get a coffee whilst waiting for the room, he gestured where McDonald’s was as he drove on by. So kind! Room was spotlessly clean and the beds were really comfy! lovely girl on reception who ordered a taxi for us too. Would definitely stay again and recommend. We didn’t stay for breakfast as we were on the road at 6.30am heading back down to wales! Thank you!

This was a lovely, well presented pub. The lady rang us the day before and told us there was a going to be party on downstairs . To be fair, they didn't have to forewarn us, but they did . It was noisy, but the music finished at midnight. So it wasn't too bad . The food was lovely .the staff were welcoming. The room we stayed in was a good size with a very comfy bed . Good shower in the bathroom . Very friendly locals .

triple room was clean and quite big with a great shower room breakfast was excellent and lesley was very friendly nothing was a bother to her a credit to your hotel

during checkin was told breakfast was £9 per person , i informed the girl that breakfast was included in my final price with booking .com and let her see this on my confirmation details , but was told this was not the case , so i paid the extra £27 (breakfast is worth the money ) i was then charged £150 for my room with breakfast which originally was£93.24 so my room should be £120.24 with the b/fast added on . i returned to reception where i pointed this out and was refunded £30 , the girl was fine and apologised , im still waiting for the £30 to go into my bank. im just glad the rest of the stay went very well . this did not put us off as the hotel is lovely and we rebooked for August

The mirror in the room was at the opposite end of the wall from the plug socket so could not be used when using the hair dryer and the blinds need to be changed to black out , we were woke very early it was like someone had switched all the lights on

Would have liked a little more variety on breakfast menu, although when asked were accommodated. Location very good. Beds were very comfortable and room nice and warm, although some form of heating in bathroom would have been nice as our stay was in early April and weather very cold. Evening menu excellent and food very good .

We requested a top up of tea and milk and emptying of waste bins in the room, but felt this should have been a given. Little things but important.

The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was so comfy and we have to lovely leather chairs. The food was also amazing. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and helped us in every way highly recommended

Location was great. Could walk into town or £5 in taxi. Breakfast was very good. Could do with a menu or something on your table to advise what you can have and what breakfast consists of.

No where to put shower gel or shampoo in shower. No wardrobe, just 4 hooks on wall. There was a wedding on so music was very loud under our room. Just 2 sashes of coffee in the room.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. It is a great place to stay for the cost of a room and I would stay there again.

There was only one staff member doing multiple jobs so service was a little slow but service was always with a smile.

The breakfast was excellent, and the service fantastic. We were there for 4 days. and looked forward to it every morning. Had dinner there one evening and the food was also superb and at a great price. All the staff were really friendly and always ready to help or just general chat.. Wifi was good.

The room was very hot with no window. There was a water pump or Laundry room or something that was making a noise, not enough to stop you from sleeping but annoying nonetheless...was brought up with reception and was told it would be looked at, no response or change.
