We stayed in the King Suite (No. 10). An exceptional room; huge comfy bed, lovely bath in centre of room, with seemingly brand new en-suite. The hotel itself is classy and well kept. The living room and dining room are beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, although not included in room rate. Staff in the hotel are lovely. Location is perfect - very central.

The bar, which is separate to the hotel, is not classy in any way. The football was on and it was full of dogs. We were charged £9.50 for a G&T and a pint of lime and soda. The G&T looked like it had been served in Wetherspoons. Garbage. We didn’t stay long as we thought it was a bit rough around the edges. It’s very different to the hotel which is a shame. We ate at The Yan down the road which was beautiful. Our room had no door to the en-suite, so that may put some people off as you can’t really use the toilet with any privacy.

On arrival we had been left an envelope with room details. The hotel was warm and cosy with lovely Christmas decor. Our room was clean and plenty of tea/coffee, milk and cookies. A lovely box of chocolates were also complimentary. There was a slight mix up with eating arrangements and the bar staff at Tweedies were lacking customer service. The two ladies who worked in the lodge made up for that. They worked extremely hard, hospitality 10/10. We also learned they had no receptionist so that's why just an envelope left for us on arrival.

Breakfast was very nice, lots of choice and tasty. If I had to be picky, I'd say my poached eggs were like golf balls. I do prefer them less cooked. Overall breakfast was quickly served, very hot & presented nicely.

Central ,everything on the doorstep . Room -mews ,nice and inviting!could do with a fridge and softer mattress. Nice breakfast and setting is beautiful. Nice hot tub !!!

Card only at the bar /restaurant. Bar no character ,not a lot of seating and very busy. If you are eating it’s not really pleasurable as it’s like you’re on a night out environment . If you’re travelling with a dog you need to get to the bar early to get a seat even though they don’t start serving till half five or otherwise you need to sit outside. Breakfast area if travelling with a dog there’s only three tables so that also needs to be timed well.

Great breakfast Superb Location brilliant facilities very helpful staff Residents lounge fantastic and dog friendly

Didnt realise that the accomodation was on 2 levels - husband awaiting knee replacement so unable to cope with stairs to access bathroom - very easily sorted as bed settee made up for us however that made the downstairs very cramped. We did initially think we had a ground floor room opening onto its own terrace and garden access - didn't fully understand that this was an outdoor space shared by 4 rooms, however on this occasion it did not present a problem as no one was using the hot tub or outdoor space confusion over booking of breakfast - this has changed since we booked and the staff sorted our issue out to our satisfaction The price of meals in the bar seemed very high - however the quality of the food is excellent

Lovely room comfy bed and the residents lounge was a really good place to sit and read the Sunday paper. Great that there were restrooms on that floor so we didn’t have to return to the room. Plenty of parking and a really central location so everything was walkable once we had checked in. Beautiful toiletries, I found the website and ordered the hand wash.

Breakfast was enjoyed by my husband but not by myself. Smoked bacon isn,t something that agrees with me and the eggs and black pudding were both very underdone. I saw ‘pastries’mentioned, but apart from croissants there were no baked goods. I rarely have a meal put in front of me that I haven’t made myself, so I was disappointed by breakfast, but appreciate that it’s hard to get it right for everyone.

This was a last minute booking after having to check out of a minging holiday cottage. We went to the hotel much earlier than checkin time and they were amazing. They checked if our room was ready and let us checkin early and get a shower. This hotel is so welcoming and all the staff from reception, bar and restaurant were the best. Our breakfast service was great too as were our evening meals which were cooked to perfection 🥰 Thank you to everyone who helped to rescue our long weekend. We can't wait to return

There was nothing to dislike. It was all perfect

Central location in Grasmere, with bus service running nearby to take you to Ambleside or further afield. Modern room with luxurious finishing touches

The bathroom wasn’t really a room - just a cornered off section of the main bedroom and no separate ceiling. Also no window in the bathroom although it seemed well ventilated with a fan. The bed was extra large but one side seemed to be on a slope. Duvet was uneven

The room was lovely, a nice lounge and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom was upstairs. Very clean and a lovely welcome letter and treats for our dog. Parking was secure and was near the room. The lodge location is right in the middle of town near to many Cafè and restaurants. Plenty of lovely walks to do straight from the hotel, which we did. There was a shared hot tub for 3 of the rooms but it was a bit cold. Even when there was only us left we'd rather just chill at night with the dog in the lounge. The food at the bar restaurant is amazing and everyone is very welcoming and nice. Restaurants and breakfast place's nearby are wonderful as well. Can't wait to go back and we'll definitely stay at Tweedies again 5*+

The room was lovely, the location amazing and the staff were amazing and helpful. They even found and returned my bank card which my wife had dropped.

This is our 2nd stay here. Check in was really easy, we just picked up our key from reception in an envelope marked with our name, as nobody was around at 2pm. Room was lovely and clean. Plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee and biscuits were lovely. We stayed in the Mews suite so the shared hot tub was a bonus but we didn't get to use it because of the weather. The breakfasts were really good. 👌

Nothing I didnt like. A mini fridge in the room would be great to keep drinks cold

Breakfast is just lovely - an excellent selection of cold and hot dishes. On our second morning the chef made a little dish of scrambled eggs for my little girl even though she was free on the booking due to her age! The rooms we were in (2 rooms as there was an issue with our first room) were lovely - clean and well laid out. The bathrooms were a brilliant size and the products handy as I’d forgotten our showergel! We enjoyed sitting in the lounge room in the afternoon, by the fire! So cosy and welcoming. We are at Tweedies both nights - first night - New Years Eve in the main hotel lodge. They’d hired a juke box for music and decorated the tables it was perfect! The second night we were in the main bar and restaurant. The Gammon sharing platter was unbelievably tasty - I don’t think I’ve had gammon THAT good before - it melted in the mouth. The bar is a great place to visit after a long day out walking - the beer selection is excellent! We really couldn’t have asked for a better break away for new years! Welcoming, cosy, good value for money and a beautiful setting. Thank you so much for looking after us - we can’t wait to come back!

Nothing! It was all perfect! If you’re thinking of booking - DO IT!!
