The staff were all friendly and professional- they went the extra mile to make sure all guests were looked after and happy with everything. The food was of excellent quality and whilst the menu was limited for those staying multiple nights, the chef did put on specials - and they have plans to revamp the menu soon too.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. I had a gorgeous room on the top floor. If I was to make a suggestion it would be to replenish the small bottled water each day and put a box of tissues in the room - but that is all.

This is our third visit in recent months so it feels like our second home! The hotel and staff are fantastic. The rooms are unique and clean, with all the trimmings to make your stay feel special. The breakfast has everything for everyone (cereals, pastries, toast, yoghurts, fruits, as well as a variety of cooked dishes like Eggs Benedict, Full English, omelette, etc). The afternoon/evening dining menu is very good too, and the bar is cosy and friendly. All the beds I have stayed in are very comfortable; mattresses, bedding and pillows are exceptional.

The water takes a little bit of time to warm up for the shower, which I don't mind waiting for, but if that could be improved then the hotel would be perfect :-)

The host was excellent. Upon check-in, I received a map and clear instructions on navigating the area. They promptly resolved an issue I had, demonstrating great responsiveness and helpfulness throughout my stay. The accommodation was clean and conveniently located for accessing the city via a pleasant walk along the river. Breakfast was also excellent

The TV had only 4 channels, none of which were BBC. The shower was a bit temperamental. No other issues to note.

Good breakfast, but small for the price. Room was clean and well presented Staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

Décor in the bathroom was an overpainted damaged wall with flaking paint that really should have been repaired properly. Shower was good but a fixed head shower isn't my favourite. Also maybe more mats could have been provided as the floor is freezing cold tiles

Stayed here several times in the last 12 months and it's so easy to be a loved guest here, so much so that you want to stay for longer! The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by countryside and wildlife. Its close proximity to Leeds makes this a real hidden gem. The staff are professional and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant, the breakfast dining and room service is all excellent. There is a relaxing bar, quiet libraries and plenty of privacy in the unique well-kept rooms. A real joy to stay here!

Our family booked the Garden Room to hold a family event for the afternoon. The food, drink and services were excellent and the room was decorated beautifully. Staff were very helpful throughout. Some members of the family also stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The rooms were clean, fresh and had everything for a relaxing stay. Breakfast offers something for everyone. Evening dinner is a good option there too, and the bar is friendly and atmospheric. Looking forward to our next stay very soon!

Arrived late as was dropping off daughter at university in leeds. Was impressed that a good meal was available in the room and service was very good. Staff are excellent even they seem stretched. Toiletries in the room were lovely.

I stayed in a room with low ceiling edges all the way round and hit my head several times. I realise that this is part of the structure of the building but did make me on edge and not entirely able to relax. It would be nice to have info about this before booking.

Loved the surprise of the location. Our whole stay was amazing. The staff were so friendly and attentive . We had the dining room to ourselves and the food was incredible. Our room was luxurious and spacious , it was clean and very comfortable. We're just sad we couldn't have stayed longer. Will definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you

So, the hotel firstly is very friendly. The restaurant was amazing and the food/chef a real delight. More unexpectedly was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They went over and above in all areas. I would 100% recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return.

Had to leave early so didn’t get to try breakfast. If it was anything like the dinner it would have been great 🙁

Brilliant location with easy access to motorways and Leeds city centre. Lovely and well appointed room. Really comfortable, huge bed. Very quiet surroundings.

Needs a little more attention to detail.....for example, drinks paid for at the bar were then added to the bill for the meal and different dessert brought to the one that was ordered. All was sorted without fuss, but this is the sort of detail that distinguishes good from excellent. Room was advertised as having a minibar. Didn't matter to us as we don't really use it, but there was no minibar.
