We had an upgrade to de-luxe for only £10, which included a drinks voucher each. The room was on floor 11; it was quite big and had a nice view over the canal. Everything was spotless, the pillows on the bed were really soft and comfy. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe which had a very useful internal light. There was also a safe in there. Good mirrors over the dressing table area and plenty of power sockets, including USB sockets by the bed - very useful. Lovely bar on the top floor with amazing views over the city and an outdoor terrace. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice including plenty of hot stuff too. The hotel is only a short walk from lots of shops, bars and restaurants.

Nothing really, it was perfect for us.

Calm, speedy and efficient check in. Pleasant room overlooking canal. Breakfast included in (discounted) price was a very good and leisurely meal and made the difference between choosing to stay here and selecting a seemingly cheaper alternative where the breakfast cost (if taken) would have added to the bill.

We arrived by train. A direct exit leads from the end of the station footbridge to Granary Wharf but is poorly signed within the station. We used the main station exit. The walking route from here is awkward due to building and road work, (We already knew the way but it is not very obvious for newcomers to Leeds).

It was lovely. The room was so clean and fresh. Loved getting a cookie on arrival. Great location. Staff were so friendly We did have the fire alarm going off at 4 am. So me standing in the street in my pj's and no shoes was a sight, lol. However, it gave us something to talk about and laugh about. We did get a complimentary bottle of water when we went back in which was most appreciated. I would recommend this hotel if staying in Leeds. Can't wait to come again. Thank you - one happy customer 😊

A lot of people will say, "Not happy with the fire alarm going off at 4am, but these things can't be helped.

This hotel is in close proximity to the train station - literally a 2 minute walk, if that, from leaving the station to getting to reception which saved so much hassle. Having messaged the property before we arrived to advise we were arriving earlier than the check-in time, we knew there was no guarantee the room would be ready but luckily for us, it was, and the lady checking us in (I think her name was Nancy), had actually been the person who had responded to my message and she remembered the time I'd said we should arrive. We got given a cookie each when checking in - I've never had this at any other hotels I've stayed at, which was such an unexpected but lovely touch. The room itself was exactly as we expected, clean and with all of the necessities you'd possibly need for a short stay (shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/bottled water/full size iron/ironing board). The bed was SO comfy, especially the pillows, and air con too. Our room overlooked the train station (you could literally see the trains pulling in) but with the windows shut you couldn't hear any noise whatsoever and the air con in the room meant that keeping the window closed wasn't an issue. We'd mentioned in our message that it was a trip to celebrate mine and my friends birthday, we were surprised to receive a knock on the door with a lovely gentleman dropping off a box of chocolates for our birthday - again, such a lovely little touch and one that leaves a lasting impression. We visited the sky lounge for a drink before we headed out for the night and this was such a nice, chilled atmosphere with a great list of drinks to choose from. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was great too - it was a buffet style so you could easily adapt it to whatever you fancied, we were able to sit outside in the sunshine overlooking the water which was nice (especially on a hangover!!) & the food was lovely.

There really is nothing I could add here that is a negative comment to this hotel - it was fantastic and I would not hesitate to stay here again if I come back to Leeds, or even if I visit anywhere else where there is a Doubletree. My only niggle, and this is out of the hotels control, is that I saw people grabbing food at breakfast (e.g. sliced bread where you cannot touch it without touching the other bread) with their bare hands when there are utensils available to grab the food! Like I say, this isn't a hotel issue as the utensils are there but more just behaviour of other guests!

BIG CREDIT to the young lady on reception... Due to a booking mix up she took control and asked for our contact number so we could leave our cases and she would call us when she had managed to sort something out. within the hour she gave us a call and offered us a room upgrade.. free of charge! Unfortunately when we returned the room wasn't available but they quickly offered two drinks in the sky lounge whilst our room was being serviced... So again, BIG CREDIT to the reception staff

Because we had to move the booking to another date the details had 'Got Lost' consequently the room wasn't available when we arrived.

Check in was easy and room was ready by 2pm which was great. Reception area and ground floor restaurant are modern and very clean. Rooms good, furniture is possibly due a bit of an update if I was being a bit picky, but overall very good standard and clean. with beds being comfortable too. Bathrooms small, but also very clean. Has a nice restaurant at ground level called The Lock and great views from Sky Lounge bar on the top floor. Location is excellent on the canal and there are so many bars and restaurants close by and it takes no time to walk into the city centre. Staff were all really helpful and friendly and after we'd been out late on the Sunday night, the restaurant staff were still able to sort us some food and drinks even though we were right at last orders. Overall really happy and would 100% stay here again when we're next in Leeds, We travelled with our three boys who are 21, 19 and 15 and they loved it too.

Only gripes are; Pillows weren't great for me, but that's probably just preference. Air con wasn't great - we stayed on a wet July weekend, which was cooler anyway, but still needed the ventilation on and it was a bit noisy.

The room location was on the 5th floor, excellent day and night view of the canal. Plenty of natural light due to the windows overlooking the canal. We had a lovely cooked british breakfast, very tasty, with all of the trimmings, excellent and the staff were super helpful and friendly. And the coffee machine produced excellent coffee options which was included in the price for the breakfast. We enjoyed the vibe in the hotel, upstairs sky lounge first class.

I would have liked 2 water bottles placed inside the fridge (free of charge) when they came to tidy and clean the room.

Location walkable to Leeds centre and is a quiet spot next to the canal and restaurants, rather than busy roads which makes it very convenient and more relaxing. Room was good size and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The warm cookies on arrival are a treat! I was allowed to leave my cases after checking out so I could go shopping, which was a relief and a good service. I didn't get to have brunch downstairs by the canal as I had to be elsewhere but it is a nice location.

The shower doesn't have a grab rail, which I think should be in all showers and bathrooms these days. The shower head wouldn't stay in place as it was too heavy for the more flimsy fitting, or the fitting needs a way to screw it tighter.

The room was a good size great view of the train station. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was a good size. A lovely addition was a freshly baked cookie each when we checked in.

I didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get to the hotel through the train station after 10pm and had had to walk a longer distance than expected to get to the hotel. I would prefer freshly made hot breakfast rather than the buffet breakfast that was included in the room price. The central phone line when I rang to book an early check in was an atrocious experience the lady on the phone took about half an hour to confirm my booking (I gave my booking.com confirmation number 5/6 times) even then she had issues with my phone number anyway I gave up as it was spoiling my train ride.

rooms are massive and bed was super comfy. I got stuck in London and was trying to get Manchester so was a last minute booking and so glad I did. air con which was great as it’s so hot. the breakfast is also really good! so many options and high quality

if I’m being picky- the tech side of things lack a little in terms of some features that hotels have now and the shower/bathroom a little outdated. when room service arrived they insisted I pay on the spot at 11pm and the eftpos terminal wasn’t working yet they said I had to pay now which is a bit weird that I couldn’t just charge it to my room and pay on check out. the coffee was average at breakfast
