To be clear, I would stay at the Chesterfield again in a heartbeat. It is a charming property. My room was perfect for one person. The hotel is on a nice street and is as central as you would want. I think the location was as good as any place I might have considered. The breakfast was very good and more than adequate for our needs. Overall, the service was friendly and attentive. I haven't stayed at many hotels in London, having stayed with friends the many times I have visited in the past. The Chesterfield certainly impressed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

To be clear, the issues I have/had would not keep me from rebooking. The room might be a little small for two people for the nine-night stay I had but, if you are there for holiday, you shouldn't be in the room very much anyway! My biggest issue was that the mirror in the bathroom was not clear--it seemed to be cloudy or filmy (though there was no film or substance on it) and should be replaced, an issue also in the bathroom my family member had. Also, one day the room was not cleaned by the time I came back in the late afternoon.

This hotel’s location is perfect - right in the middle of important landmarks and parks. They thought about everything guests may need and they provided for it: starting from plenty of closet space in the rooms, countertop space in the bathrooms and complimentary water bottles. When booking this hotel, we chosen the option to have breakfast included in our rate. And what an amazing and truly all included breakfast it was: we could pick anything from the menu and it was cooked to order. They have two performers taking turns playing piano in the evening in the bar area, and we took advantage of that by spending one evening in the bar lighting to live music and having drinks. and, most importantly, great customer service from all: starting from front desk, door men, waitresses, and, off course - cleaning personnel. Thank you for having us!! Look forward staying at your hotel when we’re next time in London 😉

Location was fab, walking distance to a lot of the attractions and shops. Room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable and we had the best night sleep. Musician in the bar was brilliant, really enjoyed listening to him while we drank. We took our dog with us and she was thoroughly spoilt, everyone loved her and you could tell she loved all the attention too. She was provided with a comfy dog bed and bowls for food/water. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. We didn't want for anything, top marks for ALL of the staff at this hotel!! I work in customer service so I usually find fault in one or two staff members but everyone here was exceptional. Really really impressed!

A tiny thing, I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup for breakfast and the pancakes were quite small I did expect them to be big fluffy ones although they were very tasty, like I said, a tiny thing! Also, the cocktails weren't great when we had some pre dinner drinks at the bar, not terrible just not that tasty, something missing. Two small points but nothing to spoil our trip at all.

The Chesterfield is a very conveniently located hotel in Mayfair which prides itself on traditional ambience and service. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very attentive and caring. The rooms are small but well equipped with high quality bedding and furnishings. Towels and bathroom products are superb. The bar is a lovely centrepiece of the hotel and, unlike many hotel bars, remains a lively and welcoming meeting place, with a resident pianist or singer each evening. Overall, we were very impressed and would definitely stay again.

Nothing at all - I think they have perfectly captured the atmosphere of the hotel.

From the moment we pulled up kerbside, the attentiveness of the staff was exemplary, service done correctly! Doors opened, cases taken care of, champagne on arrival at reception! Superb! Lovely, warm and happy smiling staff! We had booked a suite and all amenities were perfect in our room, anything we asked for was speedily attended to. Bed was super comfortable and lots of storage in bedroom and bathroom, bathtub and shower. Just perfect. We went to the bar one night for food and it was delicious and again service was superb! Breakfast was really good every day!

Room and hallways a little dated now and could do with a refurbishment, but it wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Very clean room. We stayed in a king sized bedroom- they are not big rooms but you get the larger bed than the double rooms. Our room looked over the back of the hotel - so nothing really to see but the window did open & there is air conditioning. We got complimentary breakfast as part of a booking.com deal - very good offer as it’s a nice breakfast. Great location - 10 minutes from green park tube station & the Ritz. 30 minutes to the theatre walking. Nice bar with live music & 24 hour concierge.

Breakfast was fantastic on the Friday morning- wonderful service and food. On the Saturday we had poor service and food.

We arrived straight from LHR as we had an overnight flight from Miami - the check in staff organised a different room so that we could go straight into a room. The room wasn't big but was fine for our needs. The bath and shower were fabulous - it's rare to find a shower that good in a hotel! Room was quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. Food in the bar was good.

My son was not well in the morning and was unfortunately ill at breakfast. The waitress was good but busy and it took a while for the staff to offer us to take breakfast to the room which would have solved the problem.

The hotel is located in Mayfair, a very quiet and mainly residential area of London. Its close to the Greene and Bond St Underground tube stops. This was our second time staying there but I think when we return we will stay in more central London.

Our room was 207, right next to the lifts. Unfortunately it sounds like there is a chair scraping across a wood floor every time the lift is in use. Wasn't too bad with our earplugs but if you are bothered by that keep in mind. I will never understand why hotels think the 1/2 glass shower wall is a good idea. There is almost no way to keep the water from getting on the floor. This is an old hotel so rooms are small but we still enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is a lovely period property, decorated to a high standard. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble!! I briefly mentioned that my husband and I had recently celebrated our birthdays and there was a card snd cake in our room on arrival. The reception staff were lovely and when one of them saw I was going to Takethat at Hyde Park she put a photo of Takethat in our room with a note saying they hoped we had a good time. Such a lovely thought and touch that made our stay so lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel for a special occasion or treat.

Great hotel, super location, safe area - feels comfortable walking in the area. Very near lots of attractions/sights. Lovely, friendly, professional, helpful staff. Excellent service. Beautifully decorated and appointed rooms. Enjoyed the food. Talented pianist played in the bar the evening we stayed.

Don't be put off by the few negatives noted as personally feel the positives far outweigh the negatives. Lighting too dim in the bar at night, which made reading the menu difficult. Usually have smoked haddock or kippers for breakfast, sadly they were not on the breakfast menu. Room smaller than preferred, especially the bathroom, but appreciate it is an expensive area of London.
