We liked our stay. The staff was courteous and the room was modern and clean. The sports facilities including the swimming pool and the gym were good. The location was convenient, being close to the Peak District.

The restaurant was pretty basic. The breakfast was inadequate and the dinner was pretty poor as well. Luckily there were decent restaurants and pubs were within driving distance. One night at 3am we were woken up by false fire alarm. None of us managed to go back to sleep afterwards. Hopefully it won’t happen to future guests as it was such a shock to us and the children.

Few reasons why the hotel is fantastic and would definitely come back and reccomend. Spotless, the cleanest hotel I've ever been to. The room was amazingly clean and well designed. The shower screen was like new, not a single water drop. The towels were spotless white, fluffy and lovely smell. There are Elemis products in the bathroom which was a luxury touch. Lovely staff, very accommodating and friendly. They reccomended restaurants and very welcoming. The bed had crisp white linen, like they were new. Bed very fluffy and comfortable. You get water in the room along with biscuits, tea and coffee. The location is perfect, Macclesfield is quite a big city with lots of options for going out. You are about 40min drive from main objectives in Peak District (we counted 7 locations within max of 45min drive) and around 45min drive to Manchester. The hotel has golf club and spa facilities so you get a great value for money. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Peak District. I have stayed in lots of hotels in UK and abroad and I can say this is in my top 3.

One downside even though not necessarily is that the spa facilities were closed due to renovations and only the pool was open but explored all day and didn't had the time to use it. I would have liked to come back after a hike and enjoy de steam room. The hotel did announce us well in time so we were aware of it.

The overall hotel was lovely. Staff were friendly. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Great location.

Everything was great apart from the breakfast. The food was either dry or greasy, the fried eggs were like rubber. When making toast it came out white you had to put it through the toaster at least 3 times which then set the fire alarms off. As for the coffee machine the latte hardly had any coffee in it. It was like drinking warm milk. There was also the matter of price, if you pre booked breakfast it was £14, if you booked upon arrival it was £16, however if you went into the adult only restaurant on the day it was £11.95. With no explanation from the staff over pricing. I did complain to the staff but no one got in touch with me. This was the worse breakfast I have ever had. Considering the price that was paid.

The staff were excellent from the receptionists to the cleaning lady, truly outstanding hospitality- the room was a nice size and comfortable. the gym is fabulous and good range of classes and the pool is clean.

The thermostat in the room was constantly lit, which was imposing at night with no way to switch it off so the room could be dark. The room lighting could be better only two bright lights which were directional - fine, if you are in bed trying to read but an issue if you want the see anywhere else in the room. Alas the steam room and the sauna was not working.

Ground floor room, bottled water in room. Biscuits, coffe & tea & milk. Lack of sugar. Walkin shower great. Wall mounted handwash etc.. Spa facilities great. Ample car parking. Free WiFi. Breath taking view across the golf course. Daily room service.

The bed was uncomfortable, dipping in central, requires turning over or replaced. Breakfast area poor, old fashioned water urn.. Lack of attention to detail. Example, 1st morning, little choice of fresh fruit and no honey. 2nd morning, no butter, cheap margarine. No scrambled egg, no tomatoes, only beans?. The hotwater urn is old fashion. Pots of tea would be much better. The price of breakfast per person is outrageous. Information on where to visit would be useful for visitors.

Location lovely, gym nice and quiet with lots of modern technology (couldn’t find a seated cable pull machine) but fantastic! Pool was of decent temperature and was fairly quiet however I did find the lanes a little narrow, the sauna and steam room were great!

The food wasn’t particularly great in all honesty! The oil that the fries and onion rings had been cooked in was of poor quality and caused excess grease, the burger was unseasoned and back bacon was used instead of streaky, the steak baguette had very little meat in and I’d of expected the baguette to be slightly toasted. The showers in the Spa area were boiling and couldn’t really shower after the the sauna but figured that was just a water issue.

The room was very nice and clean. The pool area and outside seating by the golf course were very nice.

The breakfast was poor. There wasn’t enough of the food, it kept running out. System didn’t seem to work, food went cold quickly-it wasn’t enjoyable! There was no cutlery especially teaspoons & plastic bowls for cereal. The staff were not around to ask for things. Staff not very attentative and some were not that helpful/friendly. Would also have liked a more pleasant lounge area to sit. Decor in the dining/lounge area liked tired & in need of re-doing.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful..

The hotel web site, in particular the food section, does itself no favours. The breakfast section gives the impression of a number of set menus, ie 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages etc. There is no mention of a continental breakfast, cereals etc. My wife was quite concerned about this. Fortunately, the reality was very different. A very good self service buffet. Also, the hotel advertises free WIFI but there is no mention in the room of how to obtain it. Furthermore, when I tried to phone reception I found no internal phone directory. When I eventually worked out the number for reception the lady answering was very polite and helpful. A little more information in the rooms would go a long way.

The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The SPA facilities were good overall, massages were excellent and hydrotherapy (pools) were fine. I would add a bit more hydrotherapy to make it more complete, but it was acceptable. Staff was nice, and food in the bar was decent (it could be better, though, for a 4* hotel).

The outside was too focused on golf, it would be nice to have a nice path to walk around, there was one but it wasn't specially beautiful or well maintained. We forgot a hair brush and they didn't have anything in reception to borrow/give us - we were expecting a small courtesy comb or something like that.

Room was great, bed very comfortable, bathroom nice and facilities good although didn’t use the gym or pool. Food in the Pulse Bar was tasty perhaps a little expensive for what it was.

Breakfast in the conference room was not as expected. It had been sitting there for hours so a bit over done and insufficient selection 2 yogurts no fruit, coffee was like water via a bean to cup machine. However, I was offered a double espresso from the machine in the bar which was better and the chef brought me fresh fruit as well as cut up an apple for me. The staff on this morning (4.5.23) were brilliant, so thank you.
