We stayed at both Portland and Princess locations. Portland was cleaner, nice staff, fun bar, and well located to restaurants, etc. Slightly longer walk from train station. I'd stay at this location again. Princess is in gay village, so the house beat always haunts in the background. V quick walk to train from there though, so depends on what you need. There is nothing going on in Princess location other than the room.

Please hand out maps for the free bus to everyone who walks in. It would have been so helpful to know about that bus sooner and helped with our stay a lot.

Location was close to the city centre. we went early to drop our bags off but were told our room was ready so were able to leave our bags in the room which was very useful as we had traveled by train. The check in area was cosy with some nice seating and the staff were polite. the room was clean and spacious and bed comfortable

The TV in the room did not work, it appeared the TV had never been switched on and just went to a locked splash screen when I plugged it in. We didn't mention it to the reception staff at the time and I'm sure they would have fixed it had we told them. I told them on the way out so hopefully it has been fixed for the next traveler.

Hotel is in a great location on Portland St in the city centre. Our room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable (we slept well) and even though the hotel is on a busy street, we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Room had teas and coffee-making facilities and a TV (although we didn't use it), plus there was free WiFi. The staff were very friendly and the reception area and bar were very comfortable. Whilst there was no on-site parking, we managed to park cheaply at the Piccadilly Station car park (£7 per day at weekends) which is only 10 minutes walk away. We stayed on a Sunday night and thought it was really good value for money. Would happily stay here again.

Minor points that did not detract from our stay: The shower could have been more powerful and the carpet was stained with either tomato sauce or blood (room 229).

Bathroom was good size Bed was good size Good Storage space Bar and restaurant downstairs til late Easy to navigate building Secure key access to lift/building/rooms Easy check in and out Central location Not very loud even though central

Bathroom/towels had marks/stains Wasn't dirty it just affected the overall feel of cleanliness Our room had a weird door to the room next door, we couldn't open it but you could've done if you tried hard enough. Woman in room next door knocked on our door to ask if we had noticed and we had but we weren't too stressed by it as we put stuff in front of it and there was two of us. She was unsure about it as she was staying on her own which is understandable. This didn't make you feel very secure.

Friendly staff , rooms clean beds comfortable Great location . Love the bar downstairs .

My only little niggle was that there was no mirror on the dressing table . I had to use the mirror on the wall by the bathroom which ment I had to stand in front of the mirror and accessories like make up and hairdryer had to go on the floor while I used them. Plus whilst stood in front of the mirror I was blocking the bathroom for my husband to go in and out ... so getting ready for a night out was a nightmare

We really enjoyed our stay at the ibis Manchester 96 Portland street. The room was super cosy and had everything you needed for a short stay. Our reason for staying was to celebrate my boyfriends 21st - they decorated the room and complimented us with 2 free drinks at their bar downstairs. Breakfast in the nearby hotel was excellent - great choice, lovely staff!

The only little thing was car parking, we parked in the Q Park piazza as I believed we received discount from the hotel however this wasn’t the case when we went to check out - so just double check nearby parking!

We were very impressed with the ibis, Manchester. The staff were so friendly, we immediately felt able to relax. That is the most important thing to us. The rooms and the facilities were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The shower and WiFi were both great too. The hotel itself is in a great location, easily walkable from Manchester Piccadilly station. Nothing is more than half a mile away and there is so much to see and do! We will definitely come back to the ibis the next time we are in Manchester. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nothing. Honestly. It was all great.

This was a very LAST MINUTE evening away for us. I checked in at 11:30pm, the guy on the desk was super friendly and couldn't do enough to help. He made polite conversation too, which is a really nice touch. The reception area was clean, warm and smelled nice. A great welcome. The security guard was on hand to make sure I was checking in and I felt very safe as soon as I walked through the door. On entering the room, it was clear it had been thoroughly cleaned, it smelled lovely. The bedding was fresh and everything was made up on arrival. Tea and coffee facilities were there too as was a huge TV. A great stay. Bonus was that check out was 12pm. Thanks again!

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Upon arrival, they informed us of all the information we needed to know. The room was very clean and warm, we were very pleased with the value for money too. Great location as it was very central and in walking distance to all shops, bars, and restaurants. The beds were extremely comfortable.

I don't know Manchester all that well with not being from the area, so next time I will make sure to check the area better, but the noise at night went on until the very early hours. We didn't get a very good nights sleep at all. It definitely sounded and felt like the window was open but after checking a few times, realised it wasn't, it was just very noisy and there was a draft coming from the window area. I think if we were in a room at the back of the hotel, it would have helped with the noise. There was also a few hairs in the shower and on the floor which didn't belong to us.

I had a good experience. The location is absolutely prime and it was easy to access everything from there. The room was clean and spacious. I appreciated that the bed was high enough for me to slide my (big) luggage underneath. I had a room that gave on the back street and had no issues with noise. The bar downstairs is also quite lovely. I'd come back next time I'm in Manchester.

The fire alarm went off one night at around 3 am. I stayed nearly a week and it only occurred once (and was dealt over with quite quickly) so I don't want to judge too harshly based on 1 incident. But it still happened, unfortunately. I think another point of concern would be the condensation built on the window and the windowsill. I think the window was closed properly, but English humidity is what it is.
