Food was excellent everyday. Very friendly staff. I know one of the times, I had argued with my partner and I'd gone to the bar to take a break; the bar staff were amazing and and took such good care of me, (big shout out to Todd, what a cool guy. And there was I'm guessing a manager who even walked me back to my room to make sure I was safe, I didnt catch his name but thank you) apologies for nagging you guys😂 can't wait to visit again.

Nothing major, just in our bedroom we had attempted to make a bath, but the drain wasnt fixed in well (probably me not doing a good job) but it kept draining, so we gave up.

If I could rate my stay over 10 I would. The building itself is gorgeous in an ideal location. If you turn left the bars and restaurants are within a 2 minute walk and if you turn right you go towards the centre with plenty of shops. The staff could not of been more helpful especially the man who stands at the doors during the evening I didn’t catch his name! The room was spacious with air conditioning which really was the icing on the cake as it was over 25 degrees during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the television in the room had the option of screen sharing which meant the nights we stayed in we could relax and watch a movie. The spa was the highlight of my stay and I wish we had done it more than once. The ladies working there were so lovely to speak to and the area was spotless. Thank you so much for looking after us so well and look forward to coming back!

Nothing!

The hotel was very well presented! We went for the manchester Pride Festival, and on entry, you could see the hotel was inclusive. We used express check-in, actually arrived 30 minutes early but was given our key as the rooms were already dome for us. Rooms were well stocked, a coffee machine, and shampoos conditioners. Moisturisers, etc. And the bed was an incredible night's sleep. Air con in the room aswell was awesome. Great little touches that made for a comfortable stay.

The windows were bolted shut and could not be opened. We left a key card in the electrical outlet by mistake and after returning the house keeping had taken it. When I asked about it she said sorry I don't speak English and walked away.

We stayed in a superior Double room on the 4th floor on B&B basis from start to finish we really enjoyed to whole stay it was just the little things the complimentary robes and slippers and bottles on water in the room we did arrive earlier cause our flight was earlier in the morning but as we know Manchester quite we had a day out at the Trafford centre and then came back and checked in for 3pm freshened up and went down to the bar and got an amazing cocktail made by a girl called Freya I hope I spelt your name right a girl working behind the bar top class bar staff and a fantastic edition to have working behind your bar after we finished our drinks we then went out for the night around Manchester and had a great night and the next morning we had a lovely breakfast

I only thing I will say is that when you arrive earlier there should he earlier check in free of charge but this is a minor issue compared to out stay lovely 3 days away

The building is wonderful and well-maintained. A great location for getting around Manchester's city centre. Our room was lovely and located in the middle of the building as we had requested a quiet room away from the trams and road noise. The spa was great and early morning was very quiet and relaxing.

Disappointed with the house keeping service. The towels had been changed but none of the glasses had been cleaned, no tea or coffee refilled, and the bed hadn't been made. When I called reception to to ask for these basics to be done, the lady who answered the phone offered no apology and sent up a colleague to clean the glasses and cups etc. What I found most strange was that the bed throw I had placed back on the bed to be made had been dumped on the floor next to the bin? It was still on the floor and the bed was not made following the second house keeping visit, we expected better. We were not asked on departure if we had enjoyed our stay, which we also found to be a little strange.

Breakfast was great, large selection. room and bathroom very nice etc. bed was very comfortable. staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Absolutely beautiful hotel.

Bit of dust in room. Food from room service not great for the price. Starter was overcooked and looked like it had been slapped on plate (breaded mushrooms) . Gravy very salty and rich, overpowered everything else on main (bangers and mash). Desert was delicious though! My partner also really enjoyed her main (cub sandwich) and desert.

Lovely hotel. Quite high price and would expect breakfast to have been included at this price. Parking 10 mins away not ideal. Staff were lovely however bar service first evening not good. Waited for table service but gave up and went to bar to order and kept waiting another 15 minutes. Bottled water not refreshed in room for second night stay. Anniversary dessert a nice touch in room thank you. Not happy to be charged £2 more per person for breakfast on day. Hot items were a little stale as been sitting round for too long. Flavourless sausages, bacon chewy, eggs good, continental items and fruit etc very good. Breakfast staff very friendly and attentive.

We loved this hotel. Steeped in history the atmosphere is so relaxing. Pure luxury. Our suite was so comfortable. Everything we needed to enjoy the room and our stay. My husband took I’ll during the break and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Kind and made sure I could get things I needed to make him comfortable. We will 100% come back and next time use the spa!

There was a fire evacuation mid stay and when we went down the fire steps (from the top floor) to the emergency exit, there was a trolly blocking it which we had to move to exit. Everyone was milling outside the building and we where told by staff member we could wander off if we wished. We thought this strange because if it was a real fire there would not have known who was in there etc. But thankfully just a drill. This was our only negative.

Breakfast was buffet style. Plenty of choice and good quality. Rooms were of a high standard and so were the toiletries etc in the room. Air conditioning in rooms were welcome addition. There are are lots of additional things the hotel can provide/loan you if you forget items e.g. toothbrushes/ razors/ phone chargers. Staff friendly and professional.

Unfortunately I experienced interrupted sleep due to a tram/train- noticeable when TV switched off- this was constant. So ask for a quiet room. Hotel did reduce my tarrif. But I would have preferred a better quality sleep. Bar and food prices are on the high side but to be expected in this type of hotel.

Loved the atmosphere, the history - especially the framed items from the archives used as art along the corridors. The general atmosphere of the hotel as soon as we stepped in is warm and welcome not snotty like some higher end hotels can be.

The staff at breakfast seemed to have a lack of understanding when it came to dietary requirements. Husband is coeliac and can become ill pretty quickly if he eats gluten so to be told something was ‘probably okay’ when he asked if the sausage contained gluten ain’t good enough, neither is waiting 20mins for 2 pieces of GF toast - at least it came, still waiting for our first mornings request of gf toast. C’mon Midland it’s the little things!
