We were visiting for a local anual craft fair and this is the best place that we have stayed so far. Great value for money and really warm and welcoming. The food is great. The room was really nice, comfortable and clean with everything you could need and more. We would definitly stay again.

We were in a ground floor room and we could hear the people above us moving around. It was quite loud. It wasn't voices or TV just foot steps through the old ceilings/floor. It didn't ruin the stay but was the only noteable negative and we did think that we would rather stay upstairs next time.

Peaceful location and good for walking the dog. Breakfast was very good. We had the full English and it was very nice. Breakfast staff were extremely pleasant. Dog friendly, though there is a £20 charge.

Bathroom was a bit grubby in areas - shower tiles- and a couple of parts of the room could do with a spruce up (something had been filled in to the side of the wardrobe and not re-painted). A bowl, bed and gift box supplied for dogs, but like most dog owners we always travel with everything our dog needs. Would prefer to pay less and to do without the doggy extras, which were not used.

attentive staff nothing was too much trouble. good selection of breakfast items to choose from and drinks available. Hearty breakfast and very enjoyable. English breakfast with eggs cooked to perfection, nothing to complain about. chose to eat dinner outside as the weather was lovely, staff were again extremely helpful and attentive.

Nothing to complain about this is our 2nd time staying here and the only thing last time was the ensuite was small for me so this time I asked to please ensure it had the larger ensuite which was accommodated for so I really could not find any faults at all. lovely comfy stay. only one small thing theres only one area of lounging type comfy chairs in the bar and if 2 people are sat at them this means you have to sit at a table unless you join the other people so maybe split up this comfy chairs and add another table so there options to use the lounging chairs if someone is already sat there.

Helpful friendly staff. Property well equipped but dated however good value. Very dog friendly. Food was good but seemed somewhat expensive.

Staff gave advice but this would be better written for example what to do with dog pooh and local dog walks. Shower was good but it needs a hand hold as floor got slippery when using shampoo. No phone signal and WiFi only if one agrees to several pages with no reject. That is abusive when advertisement says good WiFi. I recommend not staying until this is sorted as the adverts include WiFi as available and don't mention poor phone signal.

The room was comfortable, the staff were very friendly, the manager and the girl behind the bar (I think called Emma) were fantastic. Lovely area, beautiful building, very well kept, food was very good, all round very pleasing

Accepting for reasons of health and safety you have to have them the fire doors are noisy and we were both woken up early in the morning with someone going to their room. Possibly due to shortage of staff, the tables were not cleared fast enough. And the male waiter who was very friendly and helpful could do with some training.😊

We booked the Bunk Inn for a visit to evening races at Newbury. It is ideally placed being a 3.5mile drive on country lanes and back streets to the racecourse. We arrived a little early but found the staff absolutely welcoming and very helpful, especially with our dog. The walks available from the pub are lovely and we wished that we had more time to explore. The shower was great, splendid water pressure and pleasant toiletries provided.

A small mirror would have been appreciated by someone too short-sighted to use the bathroom mirror for make-up!

The staff were all so friendly & accommodating. We stayed with our dog and were delighted to find a bed, food & water bowls and even a doggy welcome package in the room with sleepy bones, a ball & poo bag. Nespresso machine plus a lovely range of Twining tea bags & hot chocolate sachets. Breakfast was amazing with a range of continental breakfast options as well as a menu to order from. Would definitely recommend. The car park was really convenient for access through the side door and unloading luggage.

*Check-in staff....fabulous. * Considerate house-keeping staff who respected the "do not disturb" sign. *Bed....most comfortable nights sleep. *Everything good. Bedlinen, mattress topper, duvet. *Large towels and plentiful hot water with good pressure. *Pet friendly. * On-site parking and well lit.

Lacked attention to detail in the cleaning of the bathroom..... *toilet tissue not flushed from previous occupant. * used razor from previous occupant left in shower. *occupants of next door room could be heard until late pm.

Lovely quiet location, yet just 10 mins from main roads. Room was spotless . We had room 8 upstairs , plenty of space. Room was spotlessly clean, lovely view over fields with horses. Breakfast was excellent with wide choice of cereals pastries and choices of cooked items cooked to order. Staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in their customers.

We moved the sofa bed to be able to view the TV. TV reception on free view was intermittent, so we logged into our Netflix account. Wifi was ok but also seemed a little intermittent and quite slow.

Charming old pub in good location for Newbury Showground

Essentially nothing really wrong it just wasn’t pristine. The room was good enough with large comfy bed nice bed linen and soft clean towels. Reasonably well equipped. However the carpets were trashed and needed replacing and it all needed a really good deep clean and polish up in all the nooks and crannies! We had room 5 with a tiny bathroom which smelt a bit damp when we arrived but was alright once we’d run the taps a bit. Also it’s obviously very dog friendly and the whole place smelt of dogs masked with very strong air freshener. May I add though that this is all meant as constructive criticism as for a one night stay it was adequate and staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was ok not the best but suffice.
