Friendly helpful staff, easy to book and a convenient stay experience for my business trip. Parking was convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel room, it was modern, nice, clean and comfortable, evening meal was good and breakfast excellent. All I needed and just what I wanted, a nice clean hotel and good value.

Toilet roll holder was loose on the wall. Traffic noise on the main street woke me up at 4;57 and was then pretty much continuous, this was probably my only real negative of my stay. In the morning i found that despite the internal glazing being closed the external sash windows were open which explained the noise. Not sure whether the sash windows would close anyway.

Breakfast staff excellent.Location good for my purposes.

Value for money ,friendly helpful staff. Comfortable beds .nice bedlinen Good breakfast. We had a great 3 night stay good base for accessing the gallops and Nhrm .

These things did not affect our stay,but window frames grubby,cobwebs above curtains, Towel rail in bathroom had been removed ,pipes still protruding from floor could easily have hurt ourselves. We just put our cases by them to avoid accidents.

The location of the property was ideal for us as and it was excellent value for money. Especially the discount on food for guests! Very comfy bed and a great night sleep was had! The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was ever too much!

Maybe the rooms could do with a little more tlc, for example: the toilet roll holder was not secure so the toilet roll kept falling off. Nothing major, just some touch ups to make the rooms even more perfect.

The hotel is set in middle of High Street, extra glazing on the windows cuts out most of road noise, heating you can control yourselves on rad stat. Free parking too- just put reg in the screen on check in. Check out not til 11am so had chance to walk around again before leaving.

The pub is due a refurb - as confirmed by the lovely 101 job man that made our breakfast. That said, the rooms are clean & tidy and have everything you need.

Easy to park (free) and central location. Room basic but very comfortable and great value for money Towels and sheets really good quality. Shower great - powerful and plenty of hot water. Staff really helpful and friendly particularly what I look for as a woman travelling alone.

Filter coffee or barista coffee would be great. However the hotel let me have my coffee for free in my room and at breakfast so not a complaint just a suggestion.

Room clean and tidy. Shower excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Lunch and breakfast good. Bar area good. Two real ales on. Hotel just across the road for free shuttle to racecourse.

Music playing in bar until 00.30. Not a problem for me but my wife couldn’t get to sleep until it finished. Not loud but noticeable.

The beds were really comfy, kettle and items available to make drinks were great, the room was very clean and lovely. Perfect for what we needed and a great location for central Newmarket. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on the food, but parking was free which is always good.

Really pleasant staff, super helpful and friendly. Room was dated but comfortable. Food was spot on and the location of the hotel was handy.

Hard to pick a fault with the hotel, the rooms as mentioned were dated but that is more due to the age of the building rather than the hotel. Quite a long set of stairs to the rooms which might be an issue for people with mobility.

Room was very clean every day changing bed sheets and bathroom shower was great too. It was considerably good just more appropriate to young people who are looking to go to disco, as they were warning us on Friday get to hold music. It was typical historic building made from wood. People in reception was nice, kind but order you should do at the bar for the food menu to eat. Overall it was very good.
