Room was comfortable and clean and we loved the facilities. The food in the evening was exceptional and the servie was very good throughout

The room was a little tired and shabby in places. We had Loft Suit North and there were scuff marks on the skirting board, the toilet roll holder had clearly been moved and the repair work not completed. The fireplace stopped working and the curtains could block a little more light than they do. We enjoyed our stay however, for the premium price we paid £355 B&B for 1 night, i expected perfection. It would have also been nice to have the option of a later check out and there was no phone in the room to order drinks etc, this would have been a premium service to match the price charged.

The ‘Nooks’ are hobbit type huts at the rear of the Mill. The huts are set in the open countryside, each hut has a little private terrace over looking fields are are a short walk to the mill where restaurants can be found. Everything inside the ‘nooks’ was complimentary, a small carafe of Slow Gin, bottled mineral water, different types of tea, coffee and drinking chocolate sachet. There was also shower, shampoo and body lotion. The staff were very courteous, helpful without being intrusive. The beds were very comfortable. There’s an á la carte restaurant in the Mill and a Tipi Tent, outdoor restaurant for more casual dining.

The patio door and windows above the bed had in-glass magnetic blinds. These proved difficult to close properly so letting light into the room. Also a green light shone above the doors constantly. I know it’s to illuminate the door but really annoying if you’re like me and prefer total darkness to sleep. I suggest you bring eye masks if this is you to aid sleep.

Breakfast was incredible and so much choice. All fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. The service was really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room one of the “Nooks” was really lovely and had absolutely everything we needed to have a very relaxing and luxurious stay. Even down to the little complimentary decanter of sloe gin beside the bed. We are in the Tipis by the Stream and it was a really lovely experience and the food again was delicious. The burgers and chips were amazing!

I can’t say there was anything we didn’t like. If I really had to be picky and had to say anything at all it would be that for me a nice thick mattress topper would have made the bed more comfortable, not that it was uncomfortable and I did sleep well, but personally I like toppers and the mattress was a little firmer than I would chose, that is all.

Everything was amazing, 10/10 recommend this place. Staff was absolutely amazing especially Will and Jackie, also the blonde lady in the tipi restaurant & the receptionist was lovely but didn’t catch their names. They couldn’t do enough for us, so thank you to them for making our stay so special. The rooms were just beautiful, and the fact that this place is dog friendly makes it feel very homely. The food was the best we’ve had in a long time, my dad said the burger was the best he’s ever eaten (and he’s eaten a lot of burgers, lol). Aswell as the breakfast in the morning which was just amazing. We will 100% be back here:)

That we had to come home:(

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting, very comfortable rooms and exceptional food. Restaurant was really cosy and staff very friendly, just rushed off their feet!

The food was excellent but we waited an extremely long time for it - over an hour for our main course at dinner and then breakfast took about an hour and a quarter in total, with a 45 minute wait for our coffee. The staff were lovely and very professional but they seemed rushed off their feet, and the slowness of the kitchen suggests they were probably short staffed too.

the room was beautiful. the setting and restaurant were amazing. the food was lovely. Check in was easy

The suite was quite expensive, but would have been worth it if a couple of little things were fixed. one of the taps leaked badly, the light on the mirror didn’t work, the towel radiator didn’t work. There was very limited information given regarding your stay. No menu in room. we were told we could order room service but nothing in the room to say what could be ordered. There was a small decanter of alcohol in the room but nothing to say what it was. These are not complaints, just observations. we could have asked about all these things but shouldn’t really have to when paying £355 for one night.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Setting/surroundings was beautiful, tranquil and quaint. Food was great! We stayed in the Loft suite it was stunning, very lovely. Interior nicely done, very spacious, great views just wonderful. we would definitely stay in the same suite again and revisit. Highly recommend, expectations exceeded!

Not children/pushchair friendly. Lots of steps everywhere, no lifts. Safety surrounding the pond wasn't great, the railings were very unstable and our babies could have quite easily fallen through.

Our attic room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Location was peaceful and beautiful. Quality of food was excellent.

Level of service. There were not enough staff, especially in both experiences of the restaurant - dinner and breakfast. We had an excellent waiter serve us for our tasting menu but he and one other colleague were supporting a completely full restaurant of what must have been 30 tables. it was slow, he recognised that and supported us very well to feel welcome but I felt it wasn’t fair on him to have so many people to serve.

The room was clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. Direct access onto grass from the room was brilliant for us as we had our dog with us. The bathroom was spacious and offered plenty of room for toiletries etc. We did not have the opportunity to eat in the restaurant however the breakfast was superb with a wide choice of dishes. There is ample parking very close to the rooms. The grounds are extensive and great for taking in the countryside and walking the dog. We were made to feel very welcome and the service in the bar and at breakfast was very good.

At the time of booking we assumed, that as it was listed as "dog friendly", all rooms would accept pets and we made a comment that we would be bringing our dog however it was only later that we received a reply stating that our chosen room was not able to take pets and we were asked to cancel the booking and rebook another (more expensive) room. Maybe it could be clearer at the time of booking about which rooms are pet friendly. The issue though was quickly resolved with a phone call.

Staff we more than helpful & went over and beyond to make sure our stay was the best we could have. We had a few drinks in the on site bar and the staff were very knowledgeable with there wines and were very helpful on choosing the right one for us. Room was amazing, we stayed in the Loft Suite and I am 6ft 2", headroom was great, bed was one of the best we have stayed in for a long time. The firer was a great feature within the room. Breakfast..... has to be the best we have ever had. The jam which is made within house was great, the staff gave us a little pot to take away. Highly recommend this place. It's a hidden gem.
