Where do I start? From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Our room was perfect with all the little extras to make it homely. The breakfast was scrumptious (even if I didn’t steal the recipe for the home-made bread) and it was the best haggis I’ve ever eaten. The hosts, Lian Na and Andy, were absolutely delightful, and helped immensely with tips on what to see, where to go. And, the birds! Watching them at the feeder was a highlight. Altogether a great place to stay.

Our room had the bathroom opposite, it wasn’t a problem at all, but midnight runs to the loo meant donning a robe 😂. We prefer a bathroom within our room. This didn’t take away from our stay at all, just be aware you may need a robe.

easily the most enjoyable place we've stayed in our travels...Andy and Li an made us feel right at home and we're so welcoming and could not do enough for us to make our stay complete..they were amazing but they also let you go and do your own thing ..rooms are decent size and comfortable..beds comfortable and you have community lounge and fridge for your comfort and goodies ...breakfast was amazing ...plentiful and so much variety... its a short stroll into town centre ..which has various food places a small supermarket...gift shops etc etc .. highly recommended booking for dinner as everytime we ate we saw people getting turned away or lining up for an hour or more to get in ...if your there on a Tuesday night the pipe band does a march down on the square ...worth catching was wonderful ...once again thankyou Andy and Li an for being the best hosts and wonderful people

Amazing breakfast homemade by the Roses! You get a menu the day before which you can select the items you want- you won’t be left hungry! The homemade yogurt was amazing- the other reviews don’t lie! The Roses have literally thought of everything you could need and want! So many extra little touches. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to isle of skye!

Nothing! Some commented on the location being a bit far from the town of Portree but we walked to town and back for dinner and it was a nice 15ish min walk and had sidewalks the whole way.

Our room was a spacious, comfortable, well equipped home from home and breakfast was an event worth looking forward to. We were so well looked after by our fabulous hosts. Their standards were high and we appreciated that. It's a short, safe walk into town, but if you don't fancy the uphill stroll on the way back, Portree has lots of parking space really close to all the excellent restaurants, bars and shops. If you are looking for an excellent base from which to explore the delights of Skye you won't find a better option than The Roses.

That we had to leave!

Lian and Andy are perfectionist hosts with no detail too small for attention. The bedroom, bathroom, common use living room and breakfast area were all exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made to order with our party of four all having different meals -veggie omelette, smoked salmon, Scottish breakfast, bacon and eggs with fresh juices, fruits and baked goods. They are lovely people who take pride in their beautiful home. Location convenient to downtown Portree. Would definitely stay there again.

The hosts exceeded our expectations for our stay between information/ presentation regarding the area, restaurants, tips and assistance of times and directions to the sites. The property was beautiful and was the one out of the seven we stayed at during our two week trip that definitely deserved a rating of excellent!! The breakfasts tailored to our dietary needs with homemade Porridge, bakery goods and yogurt! We will be back and Felt we departed with this wonderful couple as friends We could not wait to see and visit with again! The five stars for very good for this site does not do justice for this special home away from home- double those stars on this jewel!

We booked this as being a great base to explore the Isle of Skye and it certainly did not disappoint. The accommodation was excellent and the owners were 1st class. They were very friendly and could not do enough for you. On arrival everything was explained to us, there was plenty of information available on the local area and apart from our room there was also a guest lounge where you could go and relax rather than being in your room which I must say was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent all freshly cooked according to your choice made beforehand. We certainly enjoyed our time at the Roses bed and breakfast and would not hesitate in booking there again.

There was nothing to dislike. In our opinion you could not fault it.

Breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choices. Breakfast room was lovely with a lot of windows. Bathroom was very nice with a great shower! There is a sidewalk all the way to town about a 15 minute walk and fairly well lit at night!

Our bathroom was across the hall but still very private. Was not a problem for us but some people might not like. Walk to town might be harder for someone older or mobility issues.

Welcoming, beautiful, immaculate, 5 star - these are only a few superlatives that are worthy of The Roses. Lian Na and Andy are hosts that love and take pride in what they do. They've dedicated themselves to just 2 guest rooms in their beautiful home and they excel at it. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome -- from being sent off each day with slices of home made cake 'for a snack' to myself coming 'home' after being treated for migraine by a dr and having to insist Andy continue with his plan to mow the lawn as he 'didn't want to reactivate my migraine'. Lastly, I've eaten at Michelin star restaurants before, but Lian Na's scrambled egg with or without smoked salmon is easily equal to them. Everything lovingly home made, from the yoghurt to the bread. Probably the best B&B in Scotland if not the UK (at least the ones I've stayed at, and there are many). Thanks again Lian Na and Andy x

The couple who run the bed and breakfast are amazing and couldn't do enough for you. The bed and pillows are so comfy you won't want to get up Breakfasts were plenty and varied. You even get cake for your days out. .

Nothing really. The only inconvenience was that the bathroom was over the hallway but it was all very well set up that you wouldn't see anyone. It's outside of Portree but taxi or bus if you didn't want to walk a mile or so.
