Great location for Cragside. Lovely house and excellent hosts. The tea and scone on arrival was a really nice touch. The room was lovely, clean, and tidy. Tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. supplied and a sample chocolate bar, which was delicious 😋 please ask the hosts about this Rothbury made chocolate as they make it. I tried to get it in the village but they didn't have the flavour I wanted. I'm so glad I asked about it as I bought 5 bars directly from the host. It's always nice to buy locally made when you're on holiday. The full English breakfast was superb with the added bonus of watching a roe deer and her two babies from the dining room. Highly recommended will stay here again if up that way.
Absolutely nothing.

Excellent breakfast, attentive hosts, lovely large rooms, very clean. Tea/coffee and scones on arrival a nice surprise. Lots of on site parking. Close proximity to town centre. A working village with a number of options for socialising/pubs/eating out on the doorstep. There is also a pharmacy and small supermarket on the high street for those that have forgotten any essentials.
Nothing we did not like. Potential guests with mobility issues need to be aware that the Haven is built on a hill above the village. There are steps up from the carpark or a sloped path to the side of the house. You can walk down to the village quite easily but some might find the hill on the way back a challenge.

The location was fairly secluded and quiet but easy access to local amenities within minutes. We were met by the host with a welcoming pot of tea and homemade scones. The breakfast options were exceptional, so much more than the usual English breakfast. So much so, that we tried almost the full menu. The room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated to match the age of the building. We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break.
There was nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect.

The Haven is a beautiful property based in perfect vicinity to the coast and to do the Northumberland 250 route. The host was friendly, polite and extremely accommodating, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable (the bedsheets were EXQUISITLY soft) and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We arrived on motorcycles and although the parking is on bit of a hill, it's safe and private which put our minds at ease. I couldn't rate the BnB higher and would definitely look to go back when we are next in the area.
The only thing that would have been helpful to have was a full length mirror in the bedroom but otherwise everything was amazing!

Ian the owner was very personable and nothing was too much trouble for him. Seeing he was running it all on his own he managed to produce everything on time and together for our party. His range of breakfast choices is the best I have known at any B&B or hotel, and there was always plenty of food. I would thoroughly reccommend staying at the Haven if ever you are in the Rothbury area. It is a pity that Ian is calling it a day at the end of this year
The only small inconvenience is the very narrow and windy road leading to the B&B, but there again there are not many cars using that access in Rothbury

We were made to feel very welcome and had a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. Owner did over and above expectations. Rooms were thoroughly serviced every day. Lots of choice for cooked and cold breakfasts. Exceptional views, quiet and tranquil. Good location for local inns and restaurants.

The warm welcome. We were offered a drink and a homemade scone on arrival. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the hospitality tray had a range of good quality choices including biscuits & a welcome bar of chocolate. The views from the front bedrooms were lovely. Breakfast was excellent.
Unfortunately, the hillside location & steps up from the property mean that anyone with mobility limitations may find it challenging. Although only a short distance into town the uphill walk back could be a disadvantage for some.

Lovely comfortable room and en-suite shower, which was spacious for a single and had a great view across Rothbury towards Simonside from the window. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and there was plenty of parking.
Nothing major, just it is very tucked away along narrow back lanes and could be tricky to find in the dark.

Lovely house, very well designed and comfortable accommodation. Great location above the town with good views across the valley but 5 mins walk in to town centre. Short drive or walk to Cragside NT. Walks from behind the house on to the moors.Fantastic breakfast providing anything you could ever want.
Nothing, a really enjoyable stay

I had a fantastic view from my room, out over the hills in a very quiet position. The breakfast was excellent - the Salmon and scrambled egg are to be recommended. Ian, the host, was friendly and informative.
