We had such a wonderful weekend in Rye with the Whitehouse as our base. It has an excellent location, less then 5 mins walk from the train and situated very centrally on the high street. The room was even bigger than expected, the bed was big and comfortable. Coffee, tea, and water were provided everyday for our room as well as brunch being included daily at the bakery/restaurant below. The brunch menu was absolutely delicious! We also purchased items from the bakery and everything we had was 10/10.

I can't think of anything I would have changed. If I had to nitpick some days we had to wait a little while for a table for breakfast because the restaurant was so busy, but this was expected and explained to us ahead of time. You can just pop downstairs ahead of time and let them know you would like a table soon. I can't think of any complaints for the accomodation, everything was great.

Very central position. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely breakfast. The tall fan was very useful, as it was very hot while we were there.

Would have been nice to have biscuits with the tea facilities. The design of the bed was strange. It was a modern take on a 4 poster and meant that if you were lying on the side of the bed closest to the door, your view of the TV on the wall was cut in half by one of the posts of the bed. Instructions for the shower would have been helpful. Couldn’t find a switch for a light on the landing when going out in the evening.

Beautiful location and lovely property! Period house. Not one wall or floor is straight. Love it!!

There is nothing, not to like. We found the accommodation, the breakfast and the bakery team really lovely. Very easy to check in. If you arrive after the bakery closes, you will receive instructions for the ‘key locker number’ together with its code to gain access for keys to get into the property and the booked room. Breakfast is held in the bakery. I was tantalised by the array of sourdoughs, pastries and other delights available to buy!

excellent location and fabulous breakfasts available until 3pm which was brilliant. staff friendly and attentive. quirky and plenty of space. in room water and coffee station but nespresso machine didn’t work

access to whoopi suite was up three flights of stairs and a very narrow hallway, not great with cases. low ceilings, very low and creaky metal bed frame. creaky floorboards, shower only in bath. not a lot of headroom in toilet, nowhere to hang hand towel or toiletries near sink. pigeons quite noisy from 5:30am you can also hear cold water storage tank refilling next to room.

We had the most lovely stay - the staff we're so wonderful and accommodating (and everyone was so welcoming of our dog!). The included breakfast/brunch was incredible value and really adds to the experience - the food was amazing (you could tell how popular the cafe is with locals and tourists). The room was nice and spacious overall and kept very clean throughout our stay. Bathroom/shower was decent (though pressure of the shower could have been a bit better). Location was also excellent (in the most picturesque street of the town) and there are lots of great, pubs, stores and restaurants within easy walking distance around you, as well as short driving distance to beaches at Camber and attractions around Hastings. We managed to secure parking quite easily on the street outside for a few of the evenings / days when timing wasn't restricted which was helpful. We would definitely visit again and highly recommend if you're planning a trip to the area!

Our only point of feedback was that the mattress was a bit too firm for us, so not as comfy as we would have liked, but this didn't dampen our stay at all - a topper would fix this quite easily!

This is our second time staying at the Whitehouse. It’s very convenient for a short visit to Rye. Great location, amazing breakfast with so many options and very nice warm bath after a rainy day. Our room was called Whoopie and it was on the top floor, was very quiet. The hotel is dog friendly, which was great as we have 2 little terriers.

The bed’s mattress needs changing, and the matters topper doesn’t fit the bed the duvet was too big for the duvet cover. The bathroom needs a place to hang towels/place toiletries.

The Whitehouse Rye is in an excellent location in the centre of Rye and within walking distance of most eateries and sites. The breakfasts were the most interesting and tasty we have had anywhere else in the UK and very similar to the meals we have enjoyed in Australia. Our room at the top of the building was large, comfortable and well appointed. However, if you are a shower lover, this room only had a roll topped bath with and hand shower attachment. Other rooms had showers. The staff were exceptional friendly, helpful and welcoming.

There wasn't much to not like. However, people with any mobility problems should consider avoiding rooms at the top of the building as the stairs from the first floor up can be a little difficult to climb. This should not put people off though as staff are always more than willing to help carry luggage to and from room for you. Also, car parking can be a challenge. We parked in the station car park which was a short up hill walk to the High Street. This was reasonably priced. There are other car parks within walking distance of the Whitehouse.

The Hotel is a real find. It's full of character and charm. The rooms (we had 4 booked in total for a family break) all had different features and cute names. My wife and I stayed in "Crumpet" while the remaining 3 rooms were called "Whoopie", "Muffin" and "Roly Poly". The staff were outstanding, hence the service was excellent. The location was perfect for our break, in the heart of Rye. The breakfast, included in the room rates, was quite exceptional. Whilst all the menu choices were awesome, I thoroughly recommend the 'Breakfast Plate". Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The only (small) downsides were (1) we couldn't get WIFI in our room - however, we were aware this might be a problem HOWEVER, it didn't spoil our stay! (2) Our room had a stand alone bath, which was magnificent - although there was a shower attachment, it was difficult to shower without spreading water everywhere! Loved the bath though!

I stayed in Crumpet which was a lovely spacious room, loved the standalone bath in the bathroom. The complimentary bottles of water were much appreciated on such a hot weekend. The breakfast was amazing.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the room or the food. It would be helpful if housekeeping didn’t try to get in the rooms before 11am on the day of check out. She seemed desperate to start cleaning rooms early & walked straight in on 2 of my friends in other rooms who were partially naked although they had shouted out.

The room was large and comfortable and nicely styled. There was a coffee machine and a kettle for hot drinks. The building is very old and has a lot of character. We especially loved the brunch/breakfast, which was very tasty with some novel choices and can be taken throughout the day in the café downstairs. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel is most convenient for a visit to this lovely town, situated in the High Street surrounded by interesting shops and nice cafés and only 5 minutes walk from the station.

The shower has little pressure and a selection of teabags (only black tea available) would have been nice, but we were otherwise very happy with our stay in the Whitehouse.
