Very clean and friendly place to stay. Nice rooms comfy bed and a lovely Breakfast close to town and beach etc. Very good value and would recommend it.

Alarm went off twice late at night.

I paid for a room with a single bed and the room I got had a double so that was a lovely surprise and the bed was nice and comfy. The room was pleasant, clean and nicely decorated with everything needed for a one night stay. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful on my arrival and departure. It was a lovely quiet and peaceful location to stay in and just a 5min walk from the Scarborough Spa where I was going to see some live music

The room was rather on the hot side when I arrived back to it late evening after the gig, I couldn't figure out how to turn the heat down, it looked like the dial on the radiator was already set to off but it was red hot. As it was so late I didn't want to bother staff so I just opened my window which did the trick to cool the room down. This isn't a complaint though as I know the staff would have come up and helped to sort it had I phoned and asked for their help with the issue but I really did not want to be bothering them at almost midnight! Aside from the temperature of the room I cannot fault anything about the stay at all. It was just generally an all around pleasant stay.

The staff were fantastic, made us feel at home at all times. The rooms were spotless, beds and sheets comfy and good, decent sized rooms too. Everything felt fresh and clean, it felt like a small family run place despite being clearly bigger than a family place. The breakfast food was fantastic, everything we needed at really good price to get us started for the day

The shower was temperamental- hard to get it up to heat most of the time. Not sure if that was due to when we wanted to use it (early morning, when loads of punks might also want to use it). This might be because we went on a busy weekend. Another slight disappointment for me was the website suggests they have a handpulled beer, but they don't. They have decent beer on at reasonable prices, just not real ale from local suppliers. Decor in the restaurant was a little dated - but I guess that's purely subjective

Pleasant staff, nice room, no complaints. No noise from the nightclub across the road as alluded to by one previous reviewer, but I was at the back of the hotel. Would stay there again without hesitation! Communal areas clean. Choice of breakfasts, Full English or cereal and toast, or bacon/sausage sandwiches, and you pay on the day, or you can choose to go elsewhere, the choice is yours. Half mile from the railway station. I was on the train, but there appeared to be plenty of parking room.

A gremlin with the Tv on the final morning, could only access the radio stations not the Tv channels.. The following are observations not criticisms. The hotel might want to consider leaving a glasses in the rooms in addition to the cups provided! As an alternative to the usual bacon/sausage etc, would kippers be a possibility. No small corner shops in the immediate vicinity for newspapers etc, or pubs for a 'quiet pint'.

The staff were wonderful, great with the dogs. The breakfast is a bonus. My room was large for a single, with a comfy bed. Other guests were really friendly too. There was some work being done around the hotel, but it was done in sensible hours. There is a little garden close for the dogs to do their toilet and it's easy access to South Cliff Gardens which is wonderful for walking the dogs and leads on to the beach.

The time passed too quickly

The hotel was lovely, the rooms are beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Location is great, Just a little walk outside and you can go sit on a bench overlooking the sea and it’s absolutely stunning. It’s not that far to walk to the south pier and a 20 min walk to get the bus to the open air theatre.

For me the bed wasn’t that comfortable, my partner didn’t seem to mind and be wary of the seagulls they were the only thing that kept me up at night, even with earplugs. Was to be expected at a seaside town. So just a pre warning as there’s thousands of them and they will steal your chips haha.

It was convenient ordering a breakfast tailored to your needs. The cooked breakfast was generous and the service was good. I loved the decor of my room and felt really comfortable and at ease. I also loved the Reception room. I thought the stay very good value for money.

There were unavoidable staff shortages due to sickness which had an impact on room service. However, Reception was very obliging in providing extra facilities on request.

The receptionist staff were very helpful. we had a plumbing issue night two of our stay and they managed to give us another room for the night, it was a bigger room and a slight upgrade to the one we had originally- free of charge.

The issues we found in the hotel were only minor, shower curtain had mould, some of the bedding had a few stains/ marks on them, showers not that great at all: either freezing cold or luke warm. Another issue which isn't the hotels fault at all is the seagulls keeping you up at night squawking all throughout the night - even when the window was closed you could hear them loudly.
