A wonderful old pub (1600's) that has been beautifully restored and modernised. Frequented by walkers and locals alike, the bar and restaurant are abuzz with people. In autumn the log fire was very welcome too. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they were happy to do a load of washing for me on request. The meals were freshly cooked and very generous servings, the menu featured local specialities. Excellent location to the town market square and railway station. The bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

No complaints. Like many pubs in the UK, there is no air conditioning but the windows open for fresh air, and there is a heater in the room.

I had a wonderful stay! The pub had such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it hard to get up in the morning! I also really appreciated the thoughtful touch of refreshments waiting in the room upon arrival—it made me feel right at home. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and charming getaway.

Staff on arrival were very welcoming and helpful. Room was lovely, if a little small. But all we needed for one night. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food and service were really good. The coffee pods and fresh milk and water and fudge in the room were all welcome nice touches.

Breakfast staff not quite so attentive as the evening. Lots of standing around and chatting... Couldn't find remote control in room and it was found under the bed! Which was a bit odd. There was an annoying clicking in the room which was apparently due to the smoke alarm system needing to be looked at.

A really friendly welcome to us and our dogs. We had a fab ale in the cosy pub before heading to our room which was stunning. Beautifully decorated and a huge comfy bed and spotlessly clean. The bathroom had a wonderful power shower and was so impressed with the White Company products, also available to purchase. We had a delicious evening dinner, deciding on the burger which was excellent and huge onion rings, chips. The breakfast was delicious Wasn’t ready to leave so booked another overnight stay to look forward to. Keep up the good work guys it was a perfect stay and Settle is such a magical place .

Nothing to dislike

Very welcoming staff, especially Lucy, who couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome, including arranging to have our bags delivered to our room, as we had a train to catch. The property had a luxurious feel, the rooms were so comfortable and had beautiful little extra touches like homemade fudge and a lovely selection of hot drinks. Laid out on the bed was a little gift pack with eye masks and ear plugs.

The only little quibble, and I mean little, was the room being a little over warm. My fault not realising how to turn the large radiator down. Everything else was perfect!

All members of staff were very personable and accommodating. Our room was clean, very well appointed and extremely cosy. The bed was extremely comfortable and made for a very good night’s sleep. The bathroom was quite large and extremely clean. The pub and restaurant areas were really welcoming and the food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

The hot water in our bathroom was extremely hot and although once we were aware of this fact we were able to manage the situation without issue it might be worth placing a warning sign in the bathroom in order to avoid someone scalding themselves.

The little touches, coffee machine ,little fudge gifts and luxury white stuff toiletries in the bathroom.We don't have a dog but anyone who does has the options of free doggy beds and treats dotted around. It really is the small touches that make people feel special

We arrived on a Saturday teatime very tired after walking all day and the place was extremely busy...which is a good sign that this was a popular venue. On arrival I had to wait for a short while in a busy bar area to check into our room and retrieve our key whilst the bar staff were serving drinks,not the best check in,shame there isn't a separate area.It also gave me time to see how mentally busy the staff were and it put me off dining there in the evening so I cancelled and went somewhere quieter ,but this was personal choice nothing to do with the quality of the venue/staff or food.It is clearly a popular place and we arrived on the busiest evening of the week. Hats off to the staff though,under all that pressure they were still friendly and attentive.☺️👍

Lovely room with modern and tasteful decor. Thoughtful touches such as a Lavazza coffee machine in the room, comfy bed with lovely sheets and pillows. Good atmosphere in the pub and restaurant. Helpful staff who were all friendly and welcoming and a delicious dinner. Excellent location 4 mins walk from the station.

Being woken at 5.30 in the morning by the room above getting up and showering and then some noisy trucks bouncing along the high street below my window. Rooms facing the courtyard behind would be quieter. However, to be fair there was no noise from the road overnight.

Nice room with lots of extra touches that made it stand out. Fresh milk for the tea and coffee was a welcome touch so much better than those little pots. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, all surroundings clean and well kept

Dinner was expensive and quality so-so. I had fish and chips the batter was soggy and undercooked. My husbands gammon came with out an egg, they did bring one on a plate but should have been correct in the first place. Cheese and biscuits at £12 was frankly laughable, 6 of the tiniest biscuits ever, no choice of cheese as led to believe from the menu and of the 3 slivers that came two of them had rind on, certainly not the best. I think you need a new toaster for breakfast service. Car parking a bit of a problem

Great location Felt very warm and cosy as soon as you walked through the door The guy who was behind the bar was very friendly, we arrived early but only had to wait for 15 minutes for our room to be ready. What a wonderful room ,very large and spacious with additional comfy seating The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Small bathroom but cosy clean and had everything you needed. We had our evening meal there ,we both had fish and chips, exceptional and very tasty. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Breakfast ,good choice and plentiful.
