A really excellent experience from the time we walked in to the time we checked out we were treated with excellent courtesy & wonderful service. The welcome was really warm & friendly, the room was beautiful, warm & clean, with excellent facilities. The restaurant was busy, but the staff were very helpful & attentive without being overbearing. The food was really first class, all cooked freshly & exactly as requested, from a superb breakfast to lovely evening meals the chef excelled. It’s one of very few hotels I’ve stayed in in over 40 years that I wish I could have stayed longer. A longer stay is certainly on the agenda in the near future.

Nothing, it was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

The Plough is a traditional yet stylish country inn with rooms, nestled in the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. There is always a fire burning in the pub on an evening! In addition, the restaurant is wonderful with the finest local ingredients (the cheeses!) used to produce sumptuous meals. Even the B&B breakfast featured extraordinary omelettes from eggs raised next door and local cheese from the next village. Such a treat! The staff are so friendly and eager to point out local things to do and tell you about life in the Dales. And getting there treats you to countryside and views beyond believe. Just a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Can't wait to return!!!!

Our stay at the Plough was incredible. I can't commend enough the staff and the owner for making such a welcoming and lovely experience. We were hoping for a local, relaxed vibe with a bit of fun and it completely exceeded our expectations. The location is beautiful and peaceful, with some nice walks to go on nearby. They had thought of everything, and everyone was willing to help as much as they could with every need. The food was impeccable - the chef put so much effort into the choices he made for the tasting menu we had, everything complemented each other brilliantly and clearly had so much effort put in. The staff were so accommodating with every request we made, and they have such a brilliant team there, we feel very grateful to have spent our New Year's Eve with the Plough. Thanks so much to the team for all your efforts, can't wait to come back in summer and enjoy a sunny version of the Plough!

Nothing - everything was exceptional.

We stayed just the one night but it was fantastic. The pub is beautifully decorated with two open fires. One in the bar area and one in the restaurant. At the time of our stay, the Xmas decorations were in place and it gave a very festive feel. The room was great and the bed very comfortable. The coffee machine was fantastic and the small flask of milk was a nice touch, rather than UHT. The restaurant was a delight and the food was excellent. The breakfast was equally as nice. All the staff were extremely helpful and I would thoroughly recommend staying at The Plough.

Nothing. Wish could have stayed longer.

We arrived around 7.30pm following completing the 3 peaks. Obviously we were exhausted. But we were approached by a member of staff who just happened to be in the car park who helped us with bags to our room. The staff were very friendly and approachable. We were made aware food stopped serving at 8.30pm however they ensured we were able to have a meal considering. The room was lovely, shower was absolutely amazing and just what we needed after a hard hike. Beds were so comfortable and the nespresso coffee in the morning was very lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone following a hike up the 3 peaks or even just for a nice weekend stay.

Lovely village pub & hotel. Our room had quirky decor, was lovely and spacious and had a fab shower. Breakfast was £15pp and included a continental buffet (with homemade yoghurt which was delightful) and then a cooked breakfast and a continuous stream of coffee and toast. Staff were friendly, parking was easy and would be lovely to sit out in the beer garden in summer

Not much to comment - about a 25/30 minute drive from Malham or Grassington but still a good spot for entry to the Dales

Absolutely beautiful place, really gorgeous pub and restaurant with log fires lit after a day out walking, friendly people and atmosphere. Food was absolutely gorgeous, we had the Sunday lunch 😋 followed by the most amazing desserts! Room was spotless and had a gorgeous quirky decor. Bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it. We had the breakfast in the morning and once again it was top quality 👌 with obviously great ingredients. Would definitely recommend this for a visit to North Yorkshire

the refurbishment was excellent with tasteful fabric to the whole Inn.

In order to raise the profile of the accommodation I feel that a few areas could be addressed. The breakfast selection was limited (the inclusion of staple items in any hotel - eg porridge, toast, yoghourt). It may be trendy to be addressed by the waitresses as ‘you guys’ but it is definitely a no no with me. I don’t expect to be addressed as madam. but I am definitely not a guy. The waitresses were very uniformly dressed but the males could have made more effort and dressed perhaps in a shirt and trousers rather than a T shirt and denim jeans which would endorse the excellent cooking skills of the chef. This was the difference to me between staying in a pub and a country hotel.

Everything exceeded our expectations, from venue to staff everything and everyone were fantastic, we highly recommend either a stay or visit for food and drink and will absolutely be returning in the future! Wonderful food, facilities, rooms, atmosphere, staff and just generally a lovely place to stay. Great location as easy drive to get to everything we wanted to do, very beautiful place!

bathroom very good. shower excellent. bed very comfortable. room nice and warm. food very good (if pricey). friendly staff. relaxed atmosphere. quiet location. good parking.

no kettle, just an odd coffee machine which didn't heat water properly. biscuits not replaced each day (maybe that wasn't the intention, but it seemed like it had been forgotten). slightly inconsistent breakfast options between the three days. no choice of white or brown bread.
