An absolute gem - and with only 3 rooms, we were very lucky to get in! Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was comfortable (nice firm mattress; tea/coffee/biscuits, including fresh milk available on request; lovely powerful shower). Breakfast was excellent. Good free parking. Nice cosy bar downstairs with full selection of drinks (including excellent selection of different types of gin). We also had an evening meal there, which was absolutely superb (and good value for money, too). We would definitely love to return here next time we are in Settle. :-)

Really lovely cosy place, wonderful spooky view of the churchyard. Amazing pub food (would recommend booking for dinner). Great breakfast with warm croissants. Friendly staff, family-run vibe. Great guidebook to read in the room, beautiful area with lots of walks. Bed was nice and big and clean, room was well decorated, shower was amazing and bathroom really clean.

If I'd be very meticulous only thing I would say was that the toilet brush was very dirty and it wasn't hidden in one of those long holder things, just in a small pot. (But that's if I had to think of something, and it's negligible really).

This was a superb stay. The room was spacious and had a stupendous view of the perpendicular east window of the church. The food was excellent and vegetarian options were available without having to ask. The staff were great and delightful. I thoroughly recommend this Inn. The late breakfast time was not helpful for a business day, but the staff were very amenable and able to provide an early, but complete, breakfast. Well done everyone at the Black Horse.

Breakfast was very good - you are asked to choose the elements of a full English the night before and the breakfast was nicely cooked. I found the bed comfortable because it was quite firm. It is an old building but, surprisingly, no creaky floorboards. Young staff were super - very helpful and polite. Convenient location - 10 mins walk into Settle town centre.

Not much really - fairly expensive for a room in a pub but I felt well looked after and had everything I needed in a quiet pleasant location. Wasn't too sure how to work the shower and I am not a fan of the twin headed showers as you get soaked straightaway even before it gets warm but pretty good once I worked it out. Quite a tight entrance to the car park at the rear but it looks worse than it is. Got in and out fine.

Seemed like a local community pub which is a rarity nowadays. Had a very welcoming feel from the minute with stepped in till we left. Staff couldn’t do enough for you arrived late after a long day walking didn’t fancy driving around looking for somewhere to eat after asking staff where’s close for food they offered to make us something even though it was half an hour after the kitchen closed. Food was really nice and fresh. Room was nice, clean and had some lovely personal touches. Had breakfast before we left in the morning which was again really nice. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend a stay here or even just for a bite to eat you won’t be disappointed.

A great overnight stay for me and my friend sharing a twin room. Friendly staff, great choice of beers in the bar. Good food menu, but you may need to book a table if busy. Superb breakfast. A great quiet location only 10 minutes steady stroll into Settle centre.

It was unusually busy for the time of year and we wanted to eat. We were informed that they had run out of meat for the Sunday dinner, so we armte elsewhere. It would have been helpful if we had been advised to book a table prior to our visit.

First floor room with beautiful view over the churchyard. Excellent pub with friendly staff. We enjoyed our evening meals and breakfast there. Perfect base for days out walking, and walking distance to 2 train stations (although neither is exactly really close).

Nothing really. Perhaps the room was a trifle spartan...comfy chair and more hanging space would have been appreciated.

Love staying here. The location is gorgeous. Love sitting on the rear terrace. The rooms are lovely, clean and very comfortable. They even provide shower gel, shampoo/conditioner which is lovely. The breakfast and food is exceptional. It is family run and the staff are so lovely. Good selection of beer and ale on tap at good prices. The owner pays attention to detail and obviously loves what he does

Super quiet location tucked away in this pretty village. We were two old motorcycle friends touring the dales and stopped here for one night. Arriving late on a Sunday evening they made us very welcome. Despite the kitchen being closed they were very accommodating, cooking us up a steak dinner which was excellent. The room was tastefully decorated, very clean and beds super comfy.Tea coffee, biscuits available.

The rooms were really lovely and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub was really busy so we struggled to find a table to sit at for a drink when we arrived, but the Grand National was on the TV so that was understandable. We had a really lovely stay. Especially loved Marley the dog.

Nothing to dislike. The entrance to the carpark is really narrow, but that isn’t a complaint.
