The hotel was a former Manor House set in the back drop of beautiful green hills and fields. We were welcomed by a blazing log fire which I sat by reading the complimentary newspapers. The decor was rich with a a bold red hallway leading us to the bedrooms. We were early so we ordered a Sunday Roast and we sat and ate in the airy dining room. It was very good. The room was beautiful, it cannot be faulted. The furniture was in keeping with the period house. There were lovely long floor length curtains blackout curtains. A deep luxurious bath with gorgeous soaps. The bed was so comfortable and pillows fluffy it was dreamy. The room and bathroom was spotless. To top it all there was complimentary water, tea and coffee in the room. Before breakfast we walked around. The grounds, garden and lawn were picture perfect. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, using local produce and was delicious. There was a choice of traditional Yorkshire breakfast, kippers, smoked salmon and Egg Benedicts, plus cereals , fruit and yogurts. It was just an 8 minute walk from the station to this quiet peaceful haven, and 15 minute leisurely walk to the beautiful historic town. Certainly the best 3 star hotel I have stayed in and better than many 4 stars. Excellent.

I cannot think of anything to dislike.

Very comfortable room with a large double bed. Nice restaurant on site, although the 3 course menu was a bit limited in choice. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

Our room was at the back overlooking the bins and above the kitchen doors. The noise and colourful language of the staff meant keeping the windows closed, which in turn made the room a bit stuffy

The staff were beyond wonderful, amazing and helpful, very friendly and welcoming. Couldn't recommend them more. They catered so well for my allergies and were always there to answer questions and offer help. The hotel was very quiet and cozy and the grounds were beautiful, especially in the nice weather. Really needed a peaceful break away from the city to read and write and draw and definitely got it. Thank you SO much, I feel like I was more relaxed there in 3 days than in a 2 week holiday abroad!

My room (#12) could possibly do with a bit of a paint refresh as there was a pretty large patch of damp stained wall above the window, by no means dirty or disgusting but noticeable. It's an old building so it's part of it and didn't effect me at all. Not the best view out into the bins at the back of the property but pretty view of the building. Maybe a bit of noise from the kitchen below but nothing annoying.Otherwise the room was absolutely lovely! Bathroom & amenities were beautiful and clean

There was a good choice at breakfast and what we had was excellent. We had a 3 course evening meal and again it was good and reasonably priced. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The floor hadn't been cleaned when we arrived and it wasn't cleaned during our stay. There was also dust in the drawers which we didn't see until we took our clothes out.

The cleanliness could have been better especially in the bathroom. We were also at the side of the hotel and on 2 occasions we were woken early (7am) firstly by a delivery and secondly by the bins being emptied, which also created an awful smell as we had the window open.

This is gorgeous setting and location for a stay. I really like the room decor if you are in the main area of the house. The staff here are lovely, especially the night time team.

My grandparents stayed here and two flights of stairs and back corridors was not easy for them. Thankfully the staff did change the room but they had to change again due to them being moved into a room that was booked for the following day. That is a lot of movement for older people. If booking this hotel, which I recommend, state what you need if you have any mobility issues/ or issues with multiple flights of stairs.

From the minute we arrived we felt at home. Melissa efficiently registered us and took my bag up for me as we had had a long train journey along with the fact that I had hip bursitis developed in the last two weeks probably from twisting in and out of my car...lesson learned! Our two rooms were adjacent and had everything required for our stay. There was a very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel - other guests were friendly, some were bikers (yay!), some Dale walkers, a happy mixture. Loved my bed, duck filled duvet, oh the list is endless, and wow the chefs did us proud too.

Only one practical fault - the shower room door did not quite click into place to seal water in which I reported. Can't think of anything else!

The place is not too big and not too small. It felt friendly and welcoming, like a B&B but equally you didn't feel like you were a guest in someone's home. Nothing was too much trouble. It was amazing being able to have our puppy join us anywhere. The grounds were beautiful and the room was great.

There was a Wedding Fair held in the hotel on the Saturday: it was annoying that people were trying to get into our room too! However, it was brilliant being able to look into all the other rooms and getting a complimentary glass of prosecco just because we were there too.

Lots of space for parking, great bar and the decor was very modern/tasteful, the fire on entry was sooooo welcoming as I arrived on my motorcycle in the early evening; bitterly cold, the duty staff guy was very friendly, the room was meticulously clean as was the bathroom, the bed was spacious and cosy, the layout of the hotel was very grand and left plenty of space to manoeuvre, the breakfast was excellent and the morning staff friendly(not the usual grumpy morning wife!), I simply couldn't fault this hotel. I would be back in a second and get the four poster to try and impress the wife. I loved it

The fact that i was only staying for one night......and I arrived in the early evening. What a great find, it's a wonderful place to visit.

Our first point of contact on arrival was a lovely young lady named Melissa. She is professional, welcoming, friendly and a real asset to the Hotel. As we met more staff, I am happy to say, they are all a great team with a fabulous attitude. The property is delightful and tastefully decorated to run alongside the original features of the old manor. The chef and his staff are very talented. Excellent food with the extra touch... A wee dram in the porridge! Graham was very impressed, and food wise that takes some doing. We will definitely be back, soon we hope. The railway trip across the Ribbleshead viaduct to Carlisle was good too and easy to access. Settle and its surrounding towns and villages are a real gem, we have visited before but the Falcon Manor Hotel and its lovely atmosphere and staff have made it a regular must for us. You will not be disappointed I promise you. Thank you for a great stay.

Nothing to put in this box.

The staff were brilliant. They had a wedding exhibition on the following day and were short staffed when we arrived, but they were receptive and attentive and really helped us settle in.

Due to the short staffing, the kitchen menu wasn’t initially available. They then provided a much shorter menu as to what is listed on the website. We both ordered a ham sandwhich with chips - we were served Parma Ham in bread with butter, which is a first and not really that nice. We should have said something at the time, but being road weary and British, didn’t. Which let the staff down, as they were excellent and really tried to help.
