Friendly, efficient and very helpful staff - they made me feel welcome and secure. Decent room - comfy bed/pillows with a decent amount of hanging space for clothes, plus a good shower in the bathroom. Breakfast - again pleasant staff and a good choice of food. Facilities - a comfortable bar, pleasant dining room (although I ate in the bar this time) Location - very close to the Botanical Gardens and the shops/cafes/restaurants on Eccleshall Rd. Not too far out from the city centre.

The room was a bit noisy first thing in the morning as the cleaning staff and wheeled trolleys arrived just outside the window. It didn't last for many minutes though.

Loved he decor and size of windows and that the window opened. Hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful.

Unfortunately my friend is disabled and on arrival we were faced with steep steps and lack of parking space. Her bags were heavy so she could not carry them herself. I had to carry them into the hotel. She had to manage the steps. If I had known beforehand the directions to the disabled parking bay that would have made our arrival much easier as there is ramp access. On the second night there was no milk in the corridor fridges. Staff helpfully gave replenishments but it meant going to ground floor to find staff.

this hotel is fabulous place to stay- the rooms were clean, bed really comfortable, wonderful shower with nice products , high quality coffee machine and biscuits available in your room and really peaceful. what’s more, the breakfast was FANTASTIC- especially on Sunday- fresh croissants and delicious selection of cooked breakfasts that were wonderfully presented and tasted great. Better than most hotels I’ve stayed in! The staff were helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend.

could do with a wider range of drinks at the bar- eg. there was no Bailey’s when I wanted a nightcap.

Comfortable, staff always friendly. We lived in Sheffield for 49 years, moved away 7 and a half years ago. We always stay at this hotel when we go back for any reason. In fact 6 years ago we returned and held our Golden wedding anniversary celebration there.

As we get older find lack of a lift difficult but always forget to request a ground floor room. Rooms are on the small size although on this visit had a slightly larger room. Disappointed that they no longer have the home made biscuits!!

Lovely hotel in a great area near the botanic gardens with pretty gardens. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a selection of cooked meals, pastries, fresh fruit and oat fruit jars. There were top up stations on each floor to get more fresh milk, tea, biscuits etc. The best thing though was the staff. They were all absolutely lovely! We arrived about 1 in the morning due to the traffic so the 24 hr reception was a much needed benefit. The rooms are in a relatively new wing built next to the beautiful old building.

Only slight niggles but I found the beds a bit hard. My husband was fine however. I did ask for another duvet to soften it but they didn’t have any spare which was a shame. The hotel is also right next to student halls of residence so we had to close our window at night as it was slightly noisy at times. No problem with the window shut though.

Breakfast was great, helpful staff and kind. Hot food was made to order. With great vegetarian options. They were accommodating when my husband and I needed to pray before leaving. The electric car charger was free to use, and it's a great location. There is a top-up area for refilling hot drinks and snacks in the room. It was really helpful to get a choice of biscuits and hot drinks.

The rooms are small and there was access to only one car charging point. Which we had to wait for till morning of checking out. However we were able to keep out car in the car park post check out, so that helped.

Very well located, just a reasonable walk or a short Uber to get to the city centre. The room itself was a little dated but very well put together. Staff are first class and both the room and common areas spotlessly clean. Both breakfast and evening dining experiences very good, certainly have a top chef / kitchen team. A+++ Guest snacks area with Tunnocks marshmallows and caramel bars a nice touch (when available).

Small niggles but sockets don’t have USB charge socket and no UHT milk in rooms - instead fresh milk put out to take to your room from the ground floor which is nice, but not always convenient (or available).

Loved our Stay here. Staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. The food is superb! Had a lovely lunchtime snack in the bar and a full English breakfast the next day. Love the little touch of the snacks in the Corridor you can help yourself to. Our room was a lot bigger than we thought it was going to be and very clean and tidy. The bathroom was huge. I just wish we had been staying longer than the one night. Excellent value for money. Love the location, very quiet and not too far for a stroll into town. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing.

The staff were excellent being only too keen to assist where possible. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was very good and offerred a wide choice. The location is quiet.

The number of steps up to the entrance is a hindrance to anyone with walking issues and although slopes can be found round the back of the hotel, no markings are provided. The coffee machine in the room does not provide very hot drinks and it is not obvious where to obtain milk. There are no leaflets in the room explaining how to use appliances. Obtaining access to broadband is not straightforward. The room was rather cramped.

The staff were very courteous, friendly and professional. The location suited us very well and the grounds are very pleasant. The hotel is adjacent to university student accommodation but that didn't impact us at all. The bed was comfortable and the room was well appointed. The bathroom was very spacious, with a good shower and plenty of shelving space to place your belongings. The free parking was an added bonus. The lunch and wine menu offered a good choice and the breakfast was plentiful, with a buffet option as well as choice of cooked breakfast. There are fridges with cold milk, teacakes and supply stations on each floor to help yourself to tea/coffee for your room.

The wardrobe/desk layout in the bedroom were at tight angles, so it made it a bit difficult to get clothes in and out of the wardrobe. Otherwise, no gripes at all.
